@@Cyruseh The only major flaw about it for me is that a bit of the tracks leave some bit of open space throughout with his repetitive lines. Its such a vibe of an album though and so much variety.
@@ercktipr3500satellite flight is pretty mid imo. It’s not bad, just very forgettable. The only songs I really listen to on repeat r Going To The Ceremony, and TBIHTDYN. Balmain Jeans, SATELLITE FLIGHT, and Troubled Boy r alright too, but not of replay value at least for me. The instrumentals also aren’t very good. The only good instrumental on that album imo is The Return Of The Moon Man, but even that drags a bit
For me its 'Wounds' the synth solo at the end and how he deliberately broke it up all glitchy-like just sounds so crazy. I remember the 1st time I turned up my headphones to max and sat in my dark room and closed my eyes. The 4D effect actually scared me I felt like I was falling haha best I could describe how it felt. Chills man
Such a perfect album. So glad you finally heard it Jon, been begging you to check it out for almost a year now lol. Might be my favorite of his in all honesty although they’re all perfect. Frequency, Rose Golden, The Guide, Commander, & Surfin get me every time
I feel the same with a few songs on man on the moon 3. I know some of the sounds were from his wzrd album or satellite flight but i can't figure out which one lol
It may not be Cudi’s overall best project but in this project he reaches some of his highest points musically. By Design, Baptized in Fire, and Rose Golden are gems.
You gotta listen to WZRD, it’s a band created by Cudi and his producer Dot da Genius...the album itself is called WZRD. If you search up kid cudi’s name alone the album won’t appear because it is literally him and Dot as a duo. Please do!
pleaseeeee do satellite flight!! very underrated album of his, esp in terms of production. ppds and satellite flight really show you how different he can be :)
so perfect. My favorite cudi album by a mile. By Design gets better with every listen. Literally just played it at max volume two days ago. If you ever get around to jaden smiths albums you will hear the Cudi / Asap / Tyler / Travis influences heavily. Hes nowhere near as good as an overall artist as his idols, but when he hits the mark, he HITS THE MARK. Syre more melodic. Erys more metal.
Fun fact: PPDS was originally supposed to be MOTM3, but Cudi decided to change the title bc he wanted to be in a better mental state when making MOTM3. He’s happy with his decision bc in his opinion both PPDS and MOTM3 r perfection and I honestly agree. Both albums are S tier albums
My favorite Cudi album... Maybe tied with Blonde for favorite album ever.. both came out during one of my lowest points in life. This album will forever mean so much to me cause it helped get me through it all!
You mention the Smith kids and he’s like a big brother to them when it comes to this music stuff and it’s because he literally hangs with them. His influence is apparent in Jaden’s music and he gives Cudi a lot of shoutouts. It’s so great lol
Thank you man, finally. Such a good album. When i first heard Releaser (which is my fav) i was sooo hypnotized and i dont know felt like im in another universe.
I liked it, but I didn’t think it would be what it is now in my mind and heart. It’s grown to be maybe my favorite project, as a whole from him. MOTM2 always had that spot, but this thing has everything I love about the dude and his sound.
I freakin love this album so damn much. One of the most underrated albums in my lifetime. I remember it came out on my 27th birthday. I was soooo happy
Favorite cudi albums in order 1. A KID NAMED CUDI 2.PASSION PAIN AND DEMON SLAYING 3.MOTM END OF DAY 4.MOTM2 5.KID SEE GHOST 6.INDICUD 7. MOTM3 8.SATELLITE FLIGHT 9.THE DEMO TAPES 10. SPEEDING BULLET TO HEAVEN
The reason I love this album so much is that it really represents a time in Cudis life. It was around this period that he was going to rehab (don't know if it was before or after). You can obviously hear the Man on the Moon Cudi that is drowning in his pain but you can also hear his hope in these tracks. Idk how popular PP&DS is in the Cudi community but I've always felt like it was his most underrated album. Great video like always : )
Love this album. Honestly he could have called this one Man on the Moon III and I would have been okay with it. Though I love the actual MotMIII too. Loved the reaction as always!
Distant Fantasies plays in Cudi’s catalog a little like Initiation in The Weeknds catalog. Both songs are incredibly offputting, totally different sounding from anything youve ever heard, yet still sound appealing. But both coming from dark, twisted, sexual corners of their brains.
Thats crazy because its my least favorite on the entire album. I still think it's a good song but that just shows how good the album is that my least favorite is someones most favorite. All the songs on this album are just so good
I used to have to drive an hour to and from work when this album dropped. The feeling of playing this on the highway while the sun is setting after a long day of work was the best. My favorite cudi album by far, I think it's his most honest work and that's saying alot.
I was a little kid when MOTM dropped, so I didn’t understand it Fr until later. I was in my worst place in my head 2016-2018, but pp&ds really helped me not put a bullet through my skull. PP&DS dropped when I was a senior in high school, only Cudi album where I added every song. Shit is elemental and insanely therapeutical man 🔥🔥🔥
Being a long time cudi fan, a lot of his older songs will always be on the top for me, be it from MotM 1 and 2, or wzrd, and other projects. But, over time, listening more and more, as a whole project, Passion Pain has probably become my favorite. Like, the level of production, writing, and feeling (vibes) from Cudi here is just out of this world and something that I can never see anyone else put together. It is just something with the place Cudi was at in his life and what he was going through that developed this album. In the new Zane Lowe interview, Cudi mentioned how he makes his best stuff when he doesn't have an album in mind, maybe that also was part of it. I can imagine that when and artists is free in their mind to just create, their best stuff comes out. And Jon, I do agree with the idea of this Frequency that Cudi is on that just takes you somewhere.
The reason why many people find this underrated is because the frequencies and hymns is the main point of this where cudi brings it out the most and uses as healing imo
for the longest time i thought MOTM2 was my favorite cudi album. time after time of listening to this one i realize more and more that this is such an elite album and has crept it’s way into my favorite album of all time. love cudi sm

I have the same feeling with the beat from releaser, I feel like its the same beat used on another kid cudi song, I just don’t know which one
Just found out releaser samples “dat new new”
The commander also sounds like a sequel to heart of a lion from MOTM I
It may not be Cudi’s overall best project but in this project he reaches some of his highest points musically. By Design, Baptized in Fire, and Rose Golden are gems.
Don’t forget about Mature Nature and The Commander
Fr 😭
The only song I can even see an argument for being bad on this album is Distant Fantasies. 10/10 for me
