    Cudi really changed hip hop, and that’s a fact.

      Can you explain how?

    • @mt2188
      @mt2188 4 года назад +191

      J A he paved the way for most of the new age melodic rap and discussing his own problems and mental health. Most of the best new age rappers like Travis Scott credit him as their number 1 influence

    • @williamsmith8910
      @williamsmith8910 4 года назад +97

      he also added/revived a lot of the blend of rock and hiphop and modernized it

    • @JA-zo8su
      @JA-zo8su 4 года назад +20

      @@mt2188 That's a really good explanation. Thank you. I don't know about changing hop hop but it certainly seems like he 8nfluenced a big part of it.
      I don't know if the melodic rap could be credit to Kanye, Cudi or Drake but I think everyone knows melodic mcing started in Jamaica (like pretty much most things in modern music).

    • @YetiCoolBrother
      @YetiCoolBrother 4 года назад +28

      J A It was all three of them combined really that changed Hip-Hop to what it is today IMO. Kanye was really the first non-gangster rapper to be mainstream, & has been writing/making music with Cudi since atleast Graduation so a lot of the influence people attribute to him you have to give Cudi for as well and that’s without even mentioning his own music & influence on the culture. Then Drake came along with an actual good singing voice (as opposed to just pure vibes) and took it to the next level. Idk how Jamaican music fits into any of their sounds tho unless you’re talking just strictly having any type of melody at all period.

    Cudi really saved my life. Now I’m not saying I wanted to vanish off the face of the earth, but at times I felt like I was walking alone and blinded folded in this painful, unforgiving, hell that we call earth. But in that darkness, his music and his words felt like he was reaching it and guiding me and those who also feel this similar lost feeling. He guided me to safety and I feel comfort listening to his music and I forever owe Scott my life and I wish I could tell him. Thank you for making this and just showing your audience the beauty of his music.
