TW. More facts that make this song even more disturbing. If you read the official translation, It's heavily implied that the the girl who died Was r@p€d by a bunch of her bullies. (2:12 ) In the official translation, it says "Those faintly smiling beasts place a hand under your non school uniform skirt" and "your screams broke the silence of the summer" She was gang r@p€d in a classroom. The 1st girl heard her from another class but she didn't do anything, instead, she placed a flower vase on her desk. (It's used to pay respects to someone dead. If you do that to someone that's alive, it means you want them to die.) The start of the song, the 1st girl giggles, laughing at the 2nd girl. At the end of the song, The dead girl laughs because she successfully made the 1st girl kill herself. The 2nd girl's ghost manipulated the 1st girl into suicide and she got her revenge.
This actually makes some sense. To add on to this, I'm gonna mix this with another interpretation from another comment. 1 person crushes over someone but cant get her attention, so she asks her classmates to harass her. BUT, with your interpretation, they go way farther than the person crushing imagined, raping and bullying the girl, and the raped girl kills herself, and the crushing girl kills herself out of guilt because she indirectly killed her crush. The laugh at the start might just be out of insanity, but remember, *music can have multiple interpretations, it all depends on your viewpoint.*
A good theory but is it possible that the lyrics "Your scream broke off the silence of the summer" Could possibly be the 1st girl regretting committing unalivement since I think that lyrics also match with the "The girl with the pale white skin that the summer got rip off" ( *Possibly* An indication of when the girl committed the unalivement )
The haunting is not filled with hatred. The girl was manipulative out of platonic love but didn't actually partake or wished for the rape to happen. she kills herself for that is her own choice out of regret, not because the ghost is leading her to that conclusion

this song screams “kitanai kimi ga ichiban kawaii” (kitanai kimi ga ichiban kawaii (or kitakawa) is a manga about two girls called hinako and airi who have a *really weird* relationship. it starts with airi doing disgusting things to hinako and it makes you question what the hell are you reading, but then it takes a twist and suddenly you’re watching how this girls’ lifes are falling apart, it’s like a train wreck)
OMG I RARELY SEE PEOPLE WHO READ KITAKAWA, BUT YOU'RE SO RIGHT! It fits them so much, also hinako being obsessed with airi and kinda making her life worse so Airi will only belong to her... And in the ending they are both on the beach after their death I love this manga so much, it's so interesting yet disgusting... I love all manio works honestly, they are sooo underrated
Manipulation is the worst way of lying, it just devores your soul and your identity, a manipulator will always think thay he/she is doing it in the name of love, but we can't love anyone as our minds are rooting as well as our hearts and minds. It's beatiful how someone can put that in a song
This song is put together so well. The summery feeling the notes express, as the vocals can be interpreted in many ways, the guilt in the lyrics, which are shown again in the nostalgic voice of the girls. It almost seems like a long sigh, since in the beginning of every line, the pitch goes from high to low, or from low to high. And the part where the singer reminisces about old times, would be like a cry out, a way to say, "I'm so sorry, and I wish you were with me again." This song, even though in the end, both of the girls mentioned would kill themselves, is lovely. and the CONFRONTATION after the bullied girl dies puts in more guilt in the singer. But the song is so nice and has become one of my favorite songs EVER.
thank you so much for actually writing such a good analysis of the song. I love it so much, and both the lyrics and the melody have this inexplicable feeling of poisoning nostalgia and desire to go back in time to change things and relationships that are now long gone and forgotten by anyone but myself. this song is a masterpiece.
"Those faintly smiling beasts, until their hearts are refreshed, dig their nails into you, and now you skirt is uneven" "A scream that seemed to cut of the silence of summer, echoes through the classroom" This isn't implying what I think it is, right? 😨 I feel so bad for the girl being bullied.. I thought this song was about falling in love when playing is at Proseka but when I read the lyrics I was surprised
Oh it definitely means what it means. The bullied girl jumped onto the train tracks and the train basically crushed and ripped her apart. The girl that was in love with her witnessed it happen and she was traumatized for life and whenever she saw the sky she basically remembered the scene in great detail. She jumped onto the same spot the girl died on and the same thing happened to her. GODDAMN.
I remember playing this song for the first time in co-op, everyone was using n25 members and I was happy watching them vibe I even got a FC! But then the black screen with the train hit and I was just shocked, staring at the screen with the hold note thinking to myself "wtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtf" and then it was done just like that, nothing else... It was kinda scary to be honest!
Dude I though project sekai was a happy game but… I was wrong…. There are these songs, useewa, end of hatsune miku, shoujo rei, aishite, ghost rule, and Jackpot sad girl
I thought it was a cute song about reuniting with a dead girl that went to your school that you like that’s dead but no it’s worse I thought that she could see her and was visiting her there to see her and they where friends and she ended her life to be with her forever I was wrong… I was so wrong idk how I miss understood lyrics that bad…
I also got the lyrics wrong and similar to you the first time, but that's the beauty of music and poetry, you can interpret the words as your heart desire.
This song undoubtedly It makes me feel in an inexplicable way, it really is a dark song, and the music conveys that in a good way. The rhythm is too good. One of my favorites without a doubt

ik we need to normalize sadder/darker songs for other groups other than N25 but i really want a kanade and mafuyu cover or this, i feel like there voices would sounds amazing with this song
if i had a nickel for every time i heard an upbeat cheery japanese song where the lyrics were about a relationship ending in suicide, i'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but weird it happened twice
personally I think they sound really good covering this song but I think that the robotic voice in the original just has a certain charm to it that makes the song sound so good with the instrumental
I don’t speak no Japanese, BUT WHEN I SAW THE LYRICS I WAS SO SHOOK, AND THE COMMENTS? NOOOOO 😭😭😭 Edit: I genuinely thought this had beach vibes at first because I was like ‘Damn, this hits hard 💃💃💃’… but now knowing what this meant, I am so traumatised in a sad way ✌️😔
The first time I heard this song not knowing anything about I just had a feeling this was one of those songs that has a upbeat vibe, but had a very sad meaning/lyrics and boy was I right. I could just tell especially with some of the sombre/regretful sounding melodies and chords in the chorus. Such a dark and depressing song if you understand the lyrics not to mention the ending of the 3DMV for this cover is also sad.
I think its about that , that they both liked eachother. But couldn’t confess because they were good friends. And when one of them confessed , the one who confessed got bullied and why they’re keychains got torn apart because the other girl maybe didn’t want to get bullied or supported the bullies so she wouldn’t get bullied too. I also think the girl that bullied her friend heard the screams of her other friend that got bullied . And maybe saw what happened, maybe she placed a vase of flowers representing her death. „You were just a ghost, pointing at me“ i think the dead girl accused the alive girl and the girl that was alive felt horrible and committed.
I think you are right and also in the original mv picture we can see the second girl has no shadow, and that can mean that the other girl is the one that's unaliving themself bc of how bad she felt xd
Good interpretation! But sadly the original story is more disturbing, to say the least. The girl who's still alive told her friends to bully the ghost girl so that she'd be her one and only friend. Unfortunately this ends up with the bullied girl k wording herself by train. The girl who initially wanted to get her attention regretted it and wanted to join her... If I'm not wrong, I think that's the gist of it.
@@marska-vale I know that's the original story! But it was just something I noticed. Sorry if my grammar or what I wrote doesn't make sence, I only know some english! What I mean is, adding to what you said, the girl with shadow is the one that felt so bad bc of what she did causing the other one to unalive herself, and that's why the girl that suffered from all of that bullying has no shadow
i didn't expect the other theories/comments on here all this time i thought they were lovers and the other person got bullied so they killed themselves, and because of that, the other one got lonely because her partner wasn't there anymore, so they also jumped on the train...
when i played this song without knowing about the lore to it, i always felt uneasy to play it despite its upbeat rythm (not to mention the glitch at the end to where the audio is replaced by the sounds of a train coming) and when i finally now this song's story, now i know why i felt uneasy-
Inverted : if you read the lyrics from bottom to top. ( Now people got this idea by seeing the mv cover: a sign saying mikitop reverse, -probably mikitop the song creator giving us idea to read from bottom to top." " You were just transparent, and pointed at me. " Girl B ( the dead friend ) : points at Girl A ( refers to a horror trope where the ghost points at the person who caused the death ) - girl A: tells the story of how it got to the point where she's accused of her friend's death. ( The pointing ) " A scream that seemed as though it cut off the silence of summer, echoes through the classroom, in the window is the blue sky" Bullying took place in summer. " The girl with that pale white skin that the summer got rid of " - refers to Girl B's death, took place in summer. ( bullying took place in the summer, Girl B specifically getting bullied. The su1cide happened in the summer. ) " Those faintly smiling beasts dig their nails into (you) until their hearts are refreshed "-refers to the the bullies bullying the Girl until they have their fill. " and now your skirt is uneven " -refers to how badly it affected the girl's life. " I gently place a kiss, on your drowning hands " - this refers to the fact that Girl A was seeing it all happen, the bullying everything to Girl B- drowning as a metaphor, depicting that she's helpless, technically can be saved if there's a person who comes and save you, but the point is. Girl A saw all this happen but couldn't do anything about it, but she still loved her (gently placed a kiss)- now this song ( this part specifically is based but the whole song is still a base. ) is loosely based off a 90's japanese drama called Ningen Shikaku (1994): where Boy A : Boy B : friends and eventually falls in love with his friend. Now this part is where it kind of connects; Boy A, however is in a 'group of bullies' and the next day the group of bullies chose Boy B as their next target. Boy A seeing this, he technically wanted to protect Boy B but feared his group of bullies would gang up on him the moment they found out that he was siding on their victim, helpless the Boy A just watched the whole bully unfold and eventually Boy B commits suicide. " It's true, you're to blame~ Just look at me and me only It's true, you want someone to help you. Don't you? " It refers to Girl A: being in love(maybe platonic) with her friend Girl B; Girl B pays more attention to others than Girl A: who is jealous and makes a bunch of stuff ( probably involved with the group of bullies ) to make Girl B helpless and not go to other else but Girl A. However I think Girl A wasn't expecting the bullying part- ( if we go by romantic attraction which already implies she's kind of obsessed : she was too blinded by love and tells her group to do something about it, not knowing that it would be bullying ) " My true nature starts to break loose at the start of the September ( start of fall, meaning summer ended ), marked by the ringing of chimes a flower vase placed on the next target and the one who started it.... Was me. " -"putting flowers on someone's desk" Refers to something that is usually done when the person is dead. This is Girl A's way of mourning her dead friend and suddenly gets to a deep thought and realizes it was her fault. (". And the one who started it... Was me.") The next part of the song is a slowly increasing train noise, implying that the trains getting closer and closer. And since we are reading the story inverted- ( at the start of the song: you cannot hear any of the train bells, but at the middle and end part; you can hear it. ) This means that after this part ( the loud increasing train bells and suddenly gets to the part where it's eerily close) refers to Girl A dying to the train. As the story goes on (inverted btw) we: Girl A cannot hear the train bells anymore depicting that she had already died. - how it got to this point - " Yes, you're my friend so take my hand. Yes you're alone, you got nowhere else to go, do you? " ( Before Girl A' suicides) - this is after the death of her friend Girl B. The Girl A: being overwhelmed about her friend's death, starts to go crazy and Girl B's spirit starts to appear on Girl A's vision, persuading Girl A to join her. ( The Girl B unfortunately brings Girl A into train tracks ) this can appear as her conscious the whole time, aware of her surroundings and purposely went to train tracks to su1cide and join her friend. " Your instincts start to go crazy. Like a cornered mouse " Refers to Girl A: being helpless / cornered to one decision( su1cide ) " now, standing in an abyss of despair. you jumped into the railway crossing. "
tw r@pe "those faintly smiling beast dig their nails into you until their hearts are refreshed" and "now your skirt is uneven" might be a reference from when she got r@ped by her classmates, also im p sure they was mostly going for under her skirt

I love this manga so much, it's so interesting yet disgusting... I love all manio works honestly, they are sooo underrated
AIRI LIKE PROJECT SEKAI UHSDGHAGAGAGAGA
Why do you have to remind me of that one man.
GOD NO WHY DID IT HAVE COME BACK UP IN MY MIND
OH FINALLY I FOUND THE NAME
The train sound at the end was absolutely terrifying for me…
3:20 OMG THIS PART IS BEAUTIFUL
OFF TOPIC BUT I LOVE YOUR REKO PFP
This song was basically
Girl 1: you lonely and depressed lmao im the only person you have
Girl 2: *kills self*
Girl 1: i was /j
Don't forget:
Girl 1: oh shit, might as well join her lmao
Manipulation is the worst way of lying, it just devores your soul and your identity, a manipulator will always think thay he/she is doing it in the name of love, but we can't love anyone as our minds are rooting as well as our hearts and minds. It's beatiful how someone can put that in a song
ahem, mafumom, AHEM
@tsunpie my first thought LOL
Still wild that this wasn’t a nj25 song, but the VAs for Haruka and Shizuku are a beautiful combo and did wonderfully
I really dont think the vibe of the song fits nj25 tbh, im glad that haruka and shizuku got this one ♥️♥️♥️♥️ they do sound beautiful
@@toodled1340 yeah agreed but it fits niigo miku more. Dead eyes, missing song, she got the ghost look
the song choices are not based on lyrics alone, this vibe does not fit niigo at all
Tbf the lyrics fit none of the characters but the seemingly refreshing clear summer tone is MMJ's thing
it mostly fits mmj considering they make very sunny songs and nj25 makes.. dark? idk depressing songs kinda
How is it possible that a song can sound so lively and beautiful and have such a dark but nostalgic meaning goddamn!!! explodes
As dark as this song is, harukas and shizukus voices are so calming and i dont know how to feel-
ok but the art for the mv is so cute thooo
I love it so much, and both the lyrics and the melody have this inexplicable feeling of poisoning nostalgia and desire to go back in time to change things and relationships that are now long gone and forgotten by anyone but myself. this song is a masterpiece.
haruka fucking killed it she sounds amazing

just like she did in the lyircs!!!!!!!!!

"Those faintly smiling beasts, until their hearts are refreshed, dig their nails into you, and now you skirt is uneven"
"A scream that seemed to cut of the silence of summer, echoes through the classroom"
This isn't implying what I think it is, right? 😨 I feel so bad for the girl being bullied.. I thought this song was about falling in love when playing is at Proseka but when I read the lyrics I was surprised
Oh it definitely means what it means. The bullied girl jumped onto the train tracks and the train basically crushed and ripped her apart. The girl that was in love with her witnessed it happen and she was traumatized for life and whenever she saw the sky she basically remembered the scene in great detail. She jumped onto the same spot the girl died on and the same thing happened to her. GODDAMN.
wait so she was.. 😨😨
@@Akikiyama i know thats how trains work but this gave me CHILLS

I remember playing this song for the first time in co-op, everyone was using n25 members and I was happy watching them vibe I even got a FC! But then the black screen with the train hit and I was just shocked, staring at the screen with the hold note thinking to myself "wtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtfwtf" and then it was done just like that, nothing else... It was kinda scary to be honest!
i've listened to a lot of depressing songs before, especially nightcord. not once have i had to recover from the lyrics like this one did.
There's just something in this song that makes me anxious and creeped out 💀
I love how the song feels, it’s vaguely Spanish with those guitars and it sounds so amazing
The melody betrays you
Honestly the MV gave me goosebumps
I came to re-read the lyrics after that angst twisted hc..🙂

I always tear Up on this Song just Because of the lyrics
This song is perfect for a people who don't know vs. people who know meme.
This song makes me feel terrified but safe at the same time like I relate to this song
you relate to asking people in your school to bully a girl, make her kill herself, and then killing yourself because of the guilt ?
what part exactly do you relate to 💀
The Melody:😊
The lyrics:💀
Holy fuck
i love this song like it sounds upbeat but a nostalgic sentimental type of upbeat, it’s always these kinda songs with darker meanings 😭
I expected the message to be “I’ve been bullied, but my friends helped me and I’m happy!”…until I heard the lags. And say the last bit

it still hits hard tho-
The first time I heard this song not knowing anything about I just had a feeling this was one of those songs that has a upbeat vibe, but had a very sad meaning/lyrics and boy was I right. I could just tell especially with some of the sombre/regretful sounding melodies and chords in the chorus. Such a dark and depressing song if you understand the lyrics not to mention the ending of the 3DMV for this cover is also sad.
This beat hits
@@marska-vale Thats really sad .. i guess not every song or anything has a good end ..!

i didn't expect the other theories/comments on here all this time i thought they were lovers and the other person got bullied so they killed themselves, and because of that, the other one got lonely because her partner wasn't there anymore, so they also jumped on the train...

when i played this song without knowing about the lore to it, i always felt uneasy to play it despite its upbeat rythm (not to mention the glitch at the end to where the audio is replaced by the sounds of a train coming)
and when i finally now this song's story, now i know why i felt uneasy-
I really like this song and always listens to it
Inverted : if you read the lyrics from bottom to top. ( Now people got this idea by seeing the mv cover: a sign saying mikitop reverse, -probably mikitop the song creator giving us idea to read from bottom to top."
" You were just transparent, and pointed at me. "
Girl B ( the dead friend ) : points at Girl A ( refers to a horror trope where the ghost points at the person who caused the death ) - girl A: tells the story of how it got to the point where she's accused of her friend's death. ( The pointing )
" A scream that seemed as though it cut off the silence of summer, echoes through the classroom, in the window is the blue sky" Bullying took place in summer.
" The girl with that pale white skin that the summer got rid of " - refers to Girl B's death, took place in summer.
( bullying took place in the summer, Girl B specifically getting bullied. The su1cide happened in the summer. )
" Those faintly smiling beasts dig their nails into (you) until their hearts are refreshed "-refers to the the bullies bullying the Girl until they have their fill.
" and now your skirt is uneven "
-refers to how badly it affected the girl's life.
" I gently place a kiss, on your drowning hands " - this refers to the fact that Girl A was seeing it all happen, the bullying everything to Girl B- drowning as a metaphor, depicting that she's helpless, technically can be saved if there's a person who comes and save you, but the point is. Girl A saw all this happen but couldn't do anything about it, but she still loved her (gently placed a kiss)-
now this song ( this part specifically is based but the whole song is still a base. ) is loosely based off a 90's japanese drama called Ningen Shikaku (1994): where Boy A : Boy B : friends and eventually falls in love with his friend.
" It's true, you're to blame~
Just look at me and me only
It's true, you want someone to help you. Don't you? "
It refers to Girl A: being in love(maybe platonic) with her friend Girl B; Girl B pays more attention to others than Girl A: who is jealous and makes a bunch of stuff ( probably involved with the group of bullies ) to make Girl B helpless and not go to other else but Girl A. However I think Girl A wasn't expecting the bullying part- ( if we go by romantic attraction which already implies she's kind of obsessed : she was too blinded by love and tells her group to do something about it, not knowing that it would be bullying )
" My true nature starts to break loose at the start of the September ( start of fall, meaning summer ended ), marked by the ringing of chimes a flower vase placed on the next target and the one who started it.... Was me. "
-"putting flowers on someone's desk"
Refers to something that is usually done when the person is dead. This is Girl A's way of mourning her dead friend and suddenly gets to a deep thought and realizes it was her fault. (". And the one who started it... Was me.")
The next part of the song is a slowly increasing train noise, implying that the trains getting closer and closer.
- how it got to this point -
" Yes, you're my friend so take my hand. Yes you're alone, you got nowhere else to go, do you? "
( Before Girl A' suicides)
- this is after the death of her friend Girl B.
Like a cornered mouse "
Refers to Girl A: being helpless / cornered to one decision( su1cide )
" now, standing in an abyss of despair.
you jumped into the railway crossing. "
this is a great explanation
tw r@pe
"those faintly smiling beast dig their nails into you until their hearts are refreshed" and "now your skirt is uneven" might be a reference from when she got r@ped by her classmates, also im p sure they was mostly going for under her skirt
What if I was on the verge of tears??
The song sounds so happy and then bam! Suicide song
