i've got an orange one of those. be careful the ribbon cables get very brittle. even years ago i remember the track pad one going just from taking it apart. they are fun little machines. someday i gotta get my cube out and see if it still works. deff snag one of those if you have not. the emac with the twilit swivel stand is also a trip
Nice grab. Just found your channel, some good videos so far. Do you just do this for the love of the iMac G3/G4 and keeping the line alive? Is there a particular reason you put them on OS 9? That seems counter intuitive to the usual trend, newer, more whiz bang software. Anyway, good job.
Thanks! Yeah I just really like the late 90’s early 2000’s ppc stuff. As for why I install OS 9, these machines are soooo slow on osx. They’re okay when they have a decent amount of ram, but usually they don’t have a decent amount of ram haha.
@@themacintoshbuyer4240 My father's old Emac chugs on MacOSX and most of the web browser type stuff fails due to security agorithm issues. With OS9 it flies. I have it on dual boot anyway, so I can tinker with either. Most games from that era are either OS9 or PowerPC OSX. OS9 does run old old Mac stuff, so Mac can still run MacDraw but at 1Ghz.
I LOVE those Clamshell iBooks.
SO ahead of their time. :D
I love love the deli meat slicer idle sound of the clamshells. :)
love the hdd read sound
