4:26 locking mechanism doesn't look very safe, it will probably work, but i have weird feeling in my gut that it can slip and come flying out or something... Maybe add some features which will positively lock these spacers in place? Otherwise very cool build!
love this design. now i want to build a set for myself. schematics would be great. thanks. also, great idea to have the slots for bars incase anything fails. last thing you need is a bolt to break an the whole cake crumbles while you are under the vehicle. maybe im paranoid so i probably would still use jack stands as a safety precaution.
Paul, a question. When viewed from the side, the rear vertical arms (closer to bottle jack) appear to be longer than the front vertical arms (by the loading ramp). Is this an optical illusion? No worries on creating public plans, I'm starting construction, with a few modifications, in February.
would like to build a similar one but use a 12 volt hydraulic pump from my rv. would you have plans with dimensions you might be willing to share. would greatly appreciate any help you could offer as i am a novice but would love to build this for my 82 year old stepfather who used to be popeye in his younger years but struggle these days but refuses to quit. again ty for the great video. i hope to see more subscribing now.
All the jacks I have used in the past lift vertically. With the wheels already chocked, regular jacks lift the vehicle straight up, with this design, the vehicle actually moves backwards as it lifts. I don't know by how far because I don't know its measurements but I see that as a safety issue. I'm not a mechanic but like working on my cars. Care to comment?
Hi Mark. That was also a concern of mine when I initially started using the jacks. When raising, the car does indeed move back, by approximately 6". To prevent any issues with the car potentially rolling off the jack, the front wheels sit in a dip and prevent this from happening. I also place a chock under each rear wheel and move them back slightly when raising the car. So far, this has proved to be a safe method of lifting and using them. As with all jacks and lifting systems, no matter what you use at home, there will always be a risk - Even with professional 2 / 4 post lifts there is always a risk.
@@WestinghouseProductions With the car being raised it is not such a big issue as long as you move the rear chocks 2 inches at a time. Of more concern is when lowering the car as it moves forward and would want to jump over the restrainer at the top of the ramp. The only solution that I found was to move the car backwards on the top panel of the ramp a few inches at a time - but open to any ideas!
I didn't make the lifs so unfortunately I don't have any plans or matieral lists. If I get chance in the future then I will look at making a set of plans for use.
I bought one ,2 ramps , with double hydraulic footpump, second hand 180€ .seems only Chinese make them, so I need to adjust the construction, the stop at the end I have to make it removable, so I can put it in the middle of the car. thought of making it like you did, but then this came along. ciao

Good day sir, can i know the proper dimension of youre work, i want to use that as my project study as a mechanical engineering student. Thanks a lot sir Godbless.
I'm a metal worker and that product is very well engineered and done. Congratulation for you desing and work. I don't know your working field but for me, I think you missed estimated that craftmanship.
This is the best idea I have seen so far on the RUclips jack ramps.

hi paul
do you have a plans list / materials list for this?
Hi can I use part of your video to my compilation homemade inventions ?
Only if you credit my channel and link to it please.
@@WestinghouseProductions ok Thank You
@@WestinghouseProductions just watched you lift video did you ever use it?
Hi. do you have any technical documentation on how to make such a ramp? Thank you.

I would love to build a set of these do you have any drawings or dimensions you can to get started?
Are there the plans or material list to do?
hello, can you give a drawing with dimensions of the lifting ramp?

Hello, is there a construction manual to build?
Hello there do you build them for sale ?
Where can i buy some
Could I get info on purchasing these ? Ty
Great video again Paul!
Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain the cinematic!
Not a problem at all - Glad it helped you understand how they work :D
@@WestinghouseProductions can you please help me with some dimensions of the ramp.i really want to make me 2 of those.

rick cavaretti how is your set coming along?
Nice tool but I think the idea could be easily adapted to make a half lift hoist. Would provide more flexibility.

Great little design, I enjoy watching the home made ones, adds a more professional feel to a home garage and makes life easier

Hello Paul Simon, and one year after this request you will have the fabricated drawings along with the list of materials please
Thank you very much sir.great design!!!
I will make my own.i really love the ideea!
Greetings from Romania sir!!
Excellent - Stay safe when doing so!
Do you have the makers contact info by any chance?

Where is the demonstration test with the actual car????
looks mega, how many pounds did this item cost. Did you purchase it from a shop of happiness?
Just under £300 and was purchased from an engineer of many joys.
Paul Simon I don't suppose you would be able to put me in contact with the engineer who made these so I can also purchase a set?
Would have been more useful had you shown the jack/ramp in action under a vehicle weight!
You should have shown the vehicle been driven up on the ramp.and raising the vehicle.
Your stuff is really unique.

I want to use that mechanism, concentrate in transmission cars.
Very cool
Looks really cool... All weight is on bolts. If any of them had a little crack, someone can be a meatball. There's lots of unsafety details on it...
And yet a jack stand rests all the weight on a pin and I bet you think that's a perfectly safe option.
Great idea for ramps, it just needs a lick of paint.
Фундаментально, очень основательно!
Super
number one~^^
Poor quality of audio
I don't think so. Loud and clear for me, and I'm not a native english speaker.
