the rap beef started when mgk said “im my favourite rapper alive since my favourite rapper banned me from shade 45” so Eminem dissed him on his song not alike which led to rap devil by mgk then the Eminem song kill shot. As someone who enjoys both punk rock and rap music mgk is a disgrace to both genres of music.

Actually it was before this. Kelly sneak dissed em on a tech 9 song. But mgk had sent out a tweet when hailie was 16. Kelly called her hot as fuck or something like that at the time. So em went to work in the album and such, which came after the freestyle with the diss you wrote above. Just adding more context.

Tbh as a musician who’s only recently found decent musicians to write with, there’s a lot of lazy musicians out there who don’t know how to write tasty riffs of their own. I just don’t understand why they’re musicians. If you wonna get famous with no talent, just leak a sex tape.

While I don't think tx2 "copies" music because pretty much all artist use riffs, chord progressions, ect. From other artist example: smells like teen spirit/ more than a feeling (Boston). Tx2 adds absolutely nothing to their songs, it's all bland and just shit

I think it's the fact that he uses most elements from the songs people are saying he copied, not just one. A similar chord progression is one thing, sounding nearly identical while also generally copying the culture in an insultingly stereotypical way is another. If he wasn't desperate to be a famous "emo", it would probably be easier to give him the benefit of doubt

One thing I will say about MGK is his history isn’t entirely non-alternative. He incorporated punk fashion into his aesthetic a few times in the early days of his rap career and he even had Avenged Sevenfold do a guest feature on one of his old mixtapes…but he has very clearly played up that aspect to exaggerated levels in recent years. As corny as he is, it at least seemed like that transition to attempting pop punk was something he genuinely wanted to try. Everyone else just does it because they wanna imitate him lol. I dunno why they would wanna imitate a man in his 30s singing about high school, but that’s what they do lmao.

One time I commented on one of Tx2’s videos of the “if I hear TX2 talk about goth dommie mommies one more time I’ll sh00t myself” saying that he shouldn’t tell them to do it because it isn’t funny and his fans were just attacking me saying that it’s just a joke and that if I just saw more videos he would explain that it’s only a joke but telling someone to shoot them self isn’t funny and Tx2 says that his music helped him with suicidal thoughts and self harm but the makes a song to tell lake to shoot them self as a “joke” that’s just hypocritical and I don’t know how his fan base thinks it’s ok also trauma dumping to prove that your “emo” is not ok
while telling someone to kill themselves isn't funny and shouldn't be taken as a joke, he has clearly specified that he didn't actually tell the person to originally say ''also if I need to hear tx2 talk about goth Domie mommies one more time 'll shoot myself'' to kill themselves as he did not use the audio and in the song 'vendetta' when you hear that line, it is actually Cam's (the drummer) sister saying it and they actually paraphrased it making no connections to the first person saying that. and yes, TX2's music has definitely helped many people, including myself through hard times and helped listeners with SH and suicidal thoughts. also knowing Evan (singer for TX2) who has actually tried to commit himself I don't think he would ever actually tell someone to off themselves.

He's lame, but overhated. He didn't switch genres in response to a diss, he's always had rock-oriented music. The first few releases and mixtape are decent, if not particularly inspired, and he has declined since. The shenanigans are foolish but not unusual among rap and rock stars; if modern standards, social media and ubiquitous were applied to the beloved classic rock icons of the 1970s, they'd be just as hated. i come from the punk/hardcore scene and i personally think that pop punk is both musically and culturally closer to pop than it is to punk, pop punk has kinda been retconned recently as this niche subculture but it was the most mainstream type of music imaginable back in the 2000s, these bands were massive, they werent diy they signed to mainstream record labels and for the most part they were apolitical

The thing I dislike is how everyone says they there was an indefinite genre change. Mgk only has one fully punk pop style album and that’s “Tickets To My Downfall”. He has since released a punk pop album with a few rap songs
“mainstream sellout” and a rap album featuring trippie red “Genre: sad boy” like he still makes rap music and he has made a few alternative songs in the past. He released alternative rock/ indie rock style songs before such as “Let You Go” and “Bad Mother Fucker ft Kid Rock” he’s also been said to preform at a rock fest in 2016. I also thinks it’s untrue to say the beef with Eminem made him switch genres. “Rap Devil” was in 2018 and so was “Killshot” but the biggest rap album of Mgks career “Hotel Diablo” came out in 2019 and he also did a rerelease of it this year called “Hotel Diablo: Floor 13 Edition” which is a rap album. This album was huge landing over 1 billion listens within the year it released but yet nobody brings it up. Everyone says he went straight to punk pop and only releases punk pop music today which is completely untrue and it’s taking away from the point that he has past songs similar to his music today. I honestly think his relationship with Megan Fox attributed to his current behavior. He was an immature adult and she enabled it by her being “edgy” and having “spiritually awareness” which is a really bad combination for anyone. Anyways I love your content Lisa and you have great opinions and takes but this is just what I’ve seen and taken note of.

I'm only half way through the video, so there's a lot more to look over, but safe to say you're in the top 5 of my favorite RUclipsrs already, if that means anything. It's a little crazy, but I mean other RUclipsrs have done it. Just also gotta add that your personality rocks, I really hope your channel continues to grow and that you get more recognition. Just correct something: MGK has been in alternative music since...ever?? He had songs with Good Charlotte's brothers (2012) the same year of his DEBUT, Sleeping With Sirens (Alone, 2013), singed with Limp Bizkit and so many rock bands. The 2016 album Bloom (Before Eminen 2018 diss), has 4 rock songs..so...bro has made alternative music before you even know how to talk, so....yeah misinformation is cool these days

MGK is an awesome artist. I noticed you only brought up his bad songs, but didn’t bring up his Great songs like I think I’m okay, Hollywood whore, don’t let me go, Spotlight, Darkside of the moon, Halo, 27, in these walls, pretty toxic revolver. And many more. MGK is One of the most overly hated people for no good reason and people like you making videos like these just to hate someone have nothing else better to do.

im an mgk fan, so are most of my friends. what he does is switches genres. the em beef was the reason he started to pop stuff, so that’s why he needed another way to continue his “career”. his newest album as of rn is NOT good. everything before that was not bad imo. i am in no way whatsoever defending his actions, but his “non emo🥺” music is not that bad. again, imo, if you have a dif one, you can express that in the comment section, not the replies on this comment. also his music isn’t really emo/scene, it more pop punk, he js dresses emo and has an emo girl song. (also says some outrageous stuff for clout💀)

This video is about posers talking about posers. There is something unbearable about young posers trying to talk and gatekeep for "the culture" that consists of posers in isolated internet communities, throwing punches at people and saying genuinely harmful things, and expecting to not get punched back over some bs excuse like "but ur grown and im young so I can say whatever harmful shit I want" like these people can't live without stirring nonsense drama.
