    Denise - your videos are amazing!! I'm going to be buying a bunch of your patterns when my next paycheck comes, but for now - I commented a few weeks ago about trying your easy hat, and I did it! My first one wasn't perfect, but the ones after that - still following your pattern and video - were. Now I'm making a patchwork cardigan/granny cardigan for a friend for Christmas and I've got a few other ideas I'm planning on making, and it's all thanks to you. And the granny square cardigan I've been using a ton of your different stitches, both so I can get used to doing things, but also just to add different textures. Thank you so much for your amazing videos!!!

    Absolutely beautiful! For a newbie would you recommend a crochet cast on to make a scarf? I don't have the skill set to take a stitch and make my own project, yet. I love how you address how different people learn. I trained as a teacher, so I can say that that is very beneficial. Can you suggest any project patterns or videos that you have for scarves, cowls, or hats that use only a single strand of worsted weight yarn. I have several skeins of yarn that I would love to use, but I don't want to/can't double them. I am beginning to think that projects using only a single strand of worsted weight Yarns are the unicorns of loom knitting. I'm beginning to wonder if they exist! LOL I have asked in several groups that I belong to but no one can point me to a pattern or project. Thanks!

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  Год назад

      Hi Mary, keep in mind that the way you start depends on the project. For example, some hats start with a rib stitch but most blankets don’t. Wouldn’t make sense to show you a cast on that’s not going to work for your project.

    I have used this pattern for a hat. I have some advice. So i used a 36 peg loom because I didn’t have a 42. A 36 peg loom is a tight fit for me and 40 in general is loose. I finished the hat but my head stretched the pattern too much and it only looks like the pattern off. I have since purchased some flexee looms and am going to try again. I love this pattern. I wanted the cable look or a pattern like honeycomb but don’t have the patience right now to try. Thank you for the lovely design Denise.

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  Год назад

      Thank you for pointing that out. I should have said that in the video - Yes this fabric needs to be loose for you to appreciate the curves. They sort of go away if you stretch it too much.

    Can you please mention the peg numbers you've used here?
    However, in the square pattern on my 31 pegs, I varied your pattern to get a square. And it was like K1-P7-K1 throughout one row and repeat once (which is its 2Rows)
    Then, I made a variation of K1-P2-K3-P2-K1 throughout a single row, then repeat (4rows), this yielded me a square!
    It was pretty enjoyable experience until the pattern for reflected.😊

    I wish I could figure out what's happening, but when I'm doing one row of purl, one of knit, or really any pattern, when I'm at the point of making a new row, when it's finished, it's like a lighter bigger, so you can see when the hats done, where that new row started from if that makes sense lol. Like I never miss a leg or anything. It's very weird, and it's been on every hat so far.

      Hi Carol ! First I’m glad you’re asking how to fix it and not undoing all your work. I’m proud of you. 😊 Okay- so to fix the hole, thread a yarn needle with a strand of the same yarn you knitted the project. Then using the stitches around the whole, LOOSELY sew upwards from the bottom of the hole. Remember to weave in the strand of yarn. Cut the excess.

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  Год назад +1

      Linda, the stitch pattern itself is simple. It’s basically just a Basketweave stitch made of only knits and purls - but it become complex if used within a difficult project pattern. Or when free styling without understanding the concept of pattern design. Stitch patterns are not a good fit for everyone. For some ppl it’s best to use complete project patterns that include cast on - stitch and row count and end with a cast off.

  • @cinnamonchica
    @cinnamonchica Год назад

    Very confusing need more explanation while looming

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  Год назад +1

      The pattern is only knits and purls I don’t understand how that can be confusing unless you’re confused about the pattern being only a stitch pattern and not a project.
      By the way, you should always watch a video completely first before you start knitting. Also, because it’s a stitch pattern and not a complete project, the is not meant to be used as a knit-along but instead it’s more of a pattern with basic demonstrations.
