They apparently opened with this last night, we literally came late to the show and missed it
Yeah they opened Houston with it. lol
Who else is putting out songs this bonkers great this deep into their career?
Their creative spark never dies.
You know what? It's generally impossible to pick a favourite artist when you're into music as a whole, however I can confidently say these guys have transcended the boundaries to the point where 💖 I would grieve their death more than I grieved David Bowie
@@acceptans7777 they truly are giants!!
but also just very down-to-earth and mutually respectful of each other and intent on creating whatever they want within their own unique little world!!
No one.. absolutely no one else is.. that's who.. glorious isn't it
Seeing this live was hilarious. The horn section marched out to the beat as if they were soldiers.
Lyrics:
For everyone who only just arrived
a quick synopsis:
if you came late and missed the commotion
and you wonder what was all that, here's the recap:
sound of gathering and shuffling of notes
I assure you there's a very simple explanation
if you'd only be patient
okay you're asking how container ships were found
abandoned in the desert sands covered in snakes?
and who composed the ransom note and taped it to the
face of the equestrian monument?
you'll get your answers, all in due time
I know you've all been wondering
about the plaintive moaning
emanating from the forest every evening
I know the question that is foremost in your thoughts:
who ate the babies? who ate the babies?
all we can say right now is that we're taking all conceivable
protective means to secure this area
in particular with reference to the worrisome volcano that
emerged beneath us overnight
that's all the questions that time will permit
I'm afraid we'll have to leave it right there, be assured that
there's nothing more that can be done
that's all the questions that time will permit
I'm afraid we'll have to leave it right there, be assured that
there's nothing more that can be done
Doo doo lee doo doo lee doo doo lee do
Doo doo lee do do do do
Doo doo lee do do do
Doo doo lee doo doo lee doo doo lee do
Doo doo lee do do do do
Doo doo lee do do
woah
The subtle movement of the book stacks really messes with my eyes.
They heard me listen to this song 7 times in one day and then decided I needed to listen to it one more time
*DOODLY DOODLY DOODLY DOO*
This song was written for me, considering how I haven't heard the album yet.
That just raises further questions!
Nice Futurama quote!!!
new and troubling questions!
I know they said the album wasn't directly/literally about the Covid pandemic. But still, this is the perfect opening song for a post-pandemic album.
Pretty wild that I got in a BIG TMBG mood this week and in my listening, I come across this tune that premiered not even an hour ago. I'm liking this one. One of the more low, bassier tunes, giving me some vibes of Whistling in the Dark. But this is so its own thing. Another great tune! Keep doing what you do, Particle Men!
Hey there!! I just want to let you know that this video is a lyrics-free version of the opening track from TMBG's album BOOK, which was released about a year ago. A "karaoke track" of sorts if you will. I highly recommend you check out the rest of the album, I think you'll really dig it. I like that Whistling in the Dark comparison of yours...
(edit: my bad, this is not a lyrics-free track, it's simply just a video of the song on its own, without accompanying music video visuals)
@@floridaflamingogirl3119 The vocals aren't coming through for you? Maybe an audio phasing issue
@@CapitalQ silly me made the comment before watching the video. Now I understand that it's "audio only" as in, the song without any sort of music video to go with it.
Watching them sing this live is really impressive.
this sounds like bed, bed, bed because of how the song was sung in a more constant tone. I like it!
Oh that's a lovely comparison! It really does have that kind of bombastic, grimy sound.
It was _me,_ okay?! I--look, have you read A Modest Proposal? Because I know it was _meant_ to be satirical, but, y-you know, if you _think_ about it...
Do not let this man cook.
Yapping.
I love that they played this song first at thier Houston show. The fact that they'd play this song first so there wouldn't be any synopsis at all. lol.
TMBG as good as 1986. How come they don´t grow old?
Apollo blessed them with immortality
They consistently respect each other, and consistently encourage each other to hone their creative strengths.
They have cracked the code, but most likely they are sworn to absolute secrecy against disclosing any details.
Engagement for the engagement god!
DUDE STOP
One of the best from Book. can’t wait for the providence show boys
imagine if they made a song called “the human race is doomed”
it would be “the human race is doomed by they might be giants”
Okay, but who did eat the babies?
John Lee Supertaster, perhaps? Or maybe my evil twin, or my own worst enemy?
@@floridaflamingogirl3119 My money's on The Big Duluth.
@@Nanotaku the Folk Family had better hide their children
my top suspects are The Ugliness Men or Getting-All-Up-In-Your Face
Who didn't is a shorter answer
oh hey im a new fan of tmbg, feel like that this is for me
Welcome! I think this is a pretty good representation of their music.
@@ThatIckyGuy it does sound very good. Im currently vibing to omniconrn.
@@MoonyInspired Why? has so many songs on it that warm my heart! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Here Comes Science, it has some of their best children’s tunes. Also, Join Us is an “adult” album of theirs that I bet you’d really enjoy, a lot of the song topics are highly imaginative and silly.
On the plus side, we can confidently predict that the volcano will stop the baby-eating, at least locally. Sleep well!
Pickles, drummer, doodily-doo! Doodily ding-dong doodily-doo!
They Might Be Streaming
Dial-A-Song was the invention of music streaming.

I caught tonight's show in Cleveland. They opened with this.
Wonderful, beauty to my ears.
Man I thought I was early but seems like I missed a lot.
What was all that?
You guys...
Always great stuff!!
That was amazing!
Fantastic.

Thanks!
Cool
Who ate the babies? 😅😅
Somehow, people knew that babies were eaten by someone, just don’t know who. Ha ha ha. How does that limited information get out?
Don't worry-- you'll get your answers in due time. We're taking all conceivable protective means to ensure this never happens again. Please stop asking questions.
Actually, I probably wouldn't be surprised if anyone on here actually *was* eating babies.
Hillary Clinton and Tom Hanks
Babies?! I'm just here for the guitar solo at the end.
I guess you had to be there
Doodely doodely doodely doo, doodely doo doo doo, doodely doo doo, doo
He sounds like a South Park character in this one
fuck you, and i agree
@@welkinalderman269why so negative?
@@Kredillion im just mad that his right
yaes
Love this song, but they should have redone the double-tracking. It sounds real messy.
I always thought it was meant to sound like a couple people singing, fitting the song's perspective of some mysterious group of officials
