      I second that. Everything I've found so far has either been the absolute biggest, or the absolute smallest. What I really love though, is an explanation of the numbers.

      @@dsddoesminecraft Ive searched around and I would like to build the biggest reactor possible and blow it up.. but I would like to see how it looks like.. I mean, the blast radius before I do it myself. Is there a limit radius how far from point zero the radiation will go?

    I've been looking for a while for a video (because reading forums/explanations hurts my soul) actually explaining how these reactors work (not just how to build them/what stuff does) but the actual math behind it! I originally thought that the Electromagnetic coils had to be like, a whole layer (like the pressure dispersers), not based off number of blades or anything. I also really struggled with creating closed loops of water because the reactor and turbine didn't compliment each other (certainly not how yours does!) Thanks for answering all my questions about this! I look forward to your future tutorials/guides! Also my "guesstimate" for the large turbine problem was not enough water flow.

    thank you for the video on this just when i needed it, keep up the great work. i appreciate the organization of the time stamps that make it easy to come back. my only crititizm is the some of the sound effects either too loud or too high pitched, it is a good idea tho to add such affects. just make the quieter or less high pitched.

    I'm looking forward to the sodium cooled reactors.
    I barely used these to be honest because I always fail to set these up correctly and therrefore have a tendency to immediately skip to the fusion reactor that Mekanism offers.

    is there any way to void the power from the turbine? once it maxes it will cause the reactor to explode, no steam i think. and if your answer is energy storage then no need because i have put a LOT of resources into it already, still it fills pretty quickly

    A question: if I have a sink that provides infinite water to the reactor, can I just vent the steam instead of condensing it to send it back to the reactor?

    • @dsddoesminecraft
      @dsddoesminecraft  Год назад +3

      Yup, exactly.. you can “dump excess”, and wouldn’t need any saturating condensers!

  • @Mr_Colours1
    @Mr_Colours1 Год назад +1

    i Think you should add one more part to the video. The output of energy needs to be controlled from the turbine. If it backs up to the max storage it will fill up the steam since it does not get rid of the excess energy. Eventually this will make the reactor explode :) Overall really informative video and really enjoyed it just made it but had the energy issue which made my reactor blow up xP

  • @AmIThePresident
    @AmIThePresident Год назад

    I don't get the pipes bit, why are we prioritising capacity over throughput? Surely you need to match the flow rate with your pipe amount else you can't move fluid/gas fast enough

    • @AmIThePresident
      @AmIThePresident Год назад

      Actually, is pump rate just the rate at which pipes can extract? So capacity is actually throughput given something can push into the pipe fast enough

    • @dsddoesminecraft
      @dsddoesminecraft  Год назад

      I think it's this, it's hard to determine from reading the Wiki's, all I know is have enough pipes to handle the"volume" of flow. If that makes sense. Don't forget to have an Energy Bin somewhere as your Turbine can back fill with energy that then causes a catastrophy! (Speaking from experience!)

    How big of turbine is ideal for 9x9x9 Fissile Reactor?

    • @dsddoesminecraft
      @dsddoesminecraft  Год назад

      How many "Fuel rods" are going in it? What is the Max Burn rate? And then to run it at max - you'll need to be able to handle 20,000mb per tick into your Turbine. So you'll need your Max Flow rate to balance with that value. Build the reactor, and then let me know what your MAx Burn rate is.. and we can then look at the size of Turbine.
