the topmost layer can actually be more turbine vents (except for the edges; those need to be turbine casings); water output rate depends on the amount of vents so in extreme cases you actually need more than the sides can hold
W tutorial, got a little confused on why mine wasn't working at first but just copied block for block and realised I needed to cap off the top of the turbine

Since more energy and resources are expended than returned by steam in a steam turbine, it looks like the boiler was made purely for the fission reactor. I tried heating a boiler with 30 fuel heaters and wasted a dozen stacks of coal blocks, getting almost nothing in return.
You are absolutely right. Using the heaters is a very bad way of using the steam turbine. I only separated the boiler and fission reactor as the video would be near an hour and a half
A lot of people are new to modding and don't know how to use JEI. As well as that modpack authors change the recipes in packs and this is to demonstrate how the vanilla versions of each mod works
I've personally never found a use for the boiler. I go from wind generators, to a fission reactor, then straight to fusion. I feel like the boiler is unnecessary tbh
I think the biggest limitation with these generators (with the steam turbine addon) is there aren't any pipes in the game that can transfer the amount of steam it produces fast enough to keep up.
It’s better to use a fission reactor to make steam. The turbine itself makes power instead of needing power. The boiler is also more efficient with the fission reactor and using sodium cooling
fission, boiler and turbine shouldn''t be used for power generation, only to use/get rid of the heat, if you want to use a turbine for power, you're better off with fusion, boiler and turbine. one tip, in mek v10 don't use the reactor to make fuel, use the chemical infuser to make D-T fuel, far more efficient.
@@TheByQQ not for the fission combo, you just want to have the turbine running to get rid of the heat and just use the materials it provides, if you want power, use fusion, boiler and then turbine for power, the only exception to this would be the use of an SPS to make antimatter.
I think that skipping the crafting steps (since everyone uses a TMI-equivalent) as well as shortening the building would have given you more time to explain how the multi lock actually works, ratios etc.
anyone else having an issure where your turbine wont hold over a certain amount? I followed the steps and build a 7x7 but my blades dont spin and it only holds 157kmB
I know this is old, and I’m currently playing on 1.12.2, so some of those values regarding the steam turbine are outdated on my side, but is there a way of generating more then what a maxed out turbine produces with a maybe similar setup in terms of cost-efficiency, but less size ? I’m looking for a mod that takes me to the next step, I’m currently producing around 400 MRF per tick with my setup, but I’m aiming for the 1 GRF per tick mark, problem is that my world already is starting to lag because of all the fusion reactors, 2 maxed out steam turbines and D-T-Fuel factories. My goal is to be able to produce enough energy to fuel around 10 replicators from IC2 24/7 without the need to maintain them all the time so I don’t run out on buffered UU-matter. I’m currently on 57 matter fabricators, which is barely enough to run 2 replicators with 19 overclocking upgrades at all times, and just building more steam turbines won’t cut it because of the lag. Do you have some mod recommendations that aren’t „too overpowered“ ? I still want to have progression in my tech tree.
Edit : I’ve found a solution to that mess, I changed the IC2 mod with IU, and can now utilize switching freely between RF and EU, while using quantum generators to go way above 1GRF per tick. Now I got a new task to focus on, switching out my heavily on IC2 relying industry with IU-components. Kinda annoyed that basically everything breaks now, from my ME-Crafting system to the way I distribute D-T-Fuel to my fusion reactors. Now I need to replace everything before my 600 GRF buffer runs out, wish me luck 😂
Using the fusion reactor is the best way to generate steam to make RF. The fusion reactor can also be used to make steam but it is less efficient than using the fusion to reactor to make only RF
do you know what to do with spent nuclear waste? looks like it doesnt just go away in waste barrels, ive got waste barrels filled with spent nuclear waste and now its overflowing. i dont know how to dispose them, any suggestions?
In case you're still interested - solar neutron activators will turn it into polonium, which is still stored in barrels but I think at a significantly lower ratio? It can also be turned into pellets which are 100% safe and are just an item.
@@slaytonpeale9727 that's normal nuclear waste, when you turn it into polonium pellets or plutonium pellets it becomes spent nuclear waste which is completely useless and does not decay the easiest way to dispose of it is to bring it far away then break the storage container, causing temporary radiation around the area
hmmm very strange. First time I am hearing someone have this problem from my videos. I could be that the modpack author has disabled the turbine but I find that unlikely. Hopefully you have solved the problem by now!
@@Mondays3 I have indeed, it was a mod confliction with Create, although I have no idea why or how. I removed each mod from our server one at a time until finally, Create removed, turbine formed. After reinstalling Create, it worked perfectly fine. I'm at a complete loss for how the two conflicted, however, all is working fine now! Thanks ~
I don’t get why you would use creative energy cubes when you’re trying to teach us how to get energy though? Why not use something beginners would use. Cause I’m still stuck on wind turbines to power everything you just showed.
These videos are to demonstrate how things are made and how they work. They aren’t a tutorial of how to progress in mekanism. If I showed things like that everyone would just copy the video in their worlds and it would make it boring. The fun is figuring that sort of stuff yourself. Besides the boiler and turbine shouldn’t really be used together. The fission reactor is your next step. You make a fission reactor for steam and plumb that into the steam turbine then it’s a closed system and just loops

You didn't display your correction that you made and it iterates that the saturation condensing layer goes higher then what it needs be. This video should be re-uploaded with the correct information.
While using this more, I found that the power system is very poorly put together even at the very basic level. Everything consumes way too much pretty cheap to make or multiplication, but it’s not like you could multiplied entire stacks nowadays.
Really I didn’t show this in a good way. You want a fission reactor for this. A boiler to use for cooling a coolant and then the steam turbine to make power. Using resistive heaters are a very bad choice and you won’t gain a lot of power

You can use boiler for the fusion reactor. It will actually land you more efficiency.

Might I point out that if you have something like Mekanism installed, you are going to have something like JEI.

Might more likely be that you aren’t getting enough heat to it to make more steam rather than it not filling up

Yea idk man I tried to do this on mc eternal and it won’t form, it won’t let me form it without the coils and the condensers on the same layer…

You can't dispose of it. You can only store it far away
