    As a 2 year student, it is still so frustrating to go from drilling to full rolling. I can't remember and think that fast so I go back to what I can do without learning new skills.

    Brian mentions the battle for head and hip height around 6:28, Giancarlo if you see this (or someone else in the community), can you elaborate on this?

    • @robertrodriguez5283
      @robertrodriguez5283 Год назад +3

      Getting head or hip height is about lifting head or hips to escape by avoiding being covered / clear your opponent's connection. One example is when Giancarlo had control of Brian's arms / upper body, Brian reacted by stepping over (creating hip height to clear the connection(s) which Giancarlo had.

    Interesting. This academy where I'm at right now, stopped flow rolling months ago. The rate of injuries is jacked cause guys go hard year round, now only recently, the coach re-began flow rolling. I find flow rolling boring and irrelevant, and to make it fun, I try moves I would never be able to hit when rolling normal or hard.
    Now this: since there are no offseason in BJJ, that is my nightmare cause I wrestled, soccer, and even boxed, and we had off seasons in those. So flow rolling would be like an offseason kind of thing for BJJ, but grappling schools don't see it that way.

      Flow rolling is definitely not irrelevant and if it’s boring to you I’d dare say it’s because of your lack of experience.

      @@The_Brew_Dog O you're answering to a 7 month ago comment. I've made great progress since then. Instructors instructed me to flow roll, as soon as my mind goes, boriiiing, they ask that I switch to wrestling moderate mode, or sniper submission hunting moderate mode all in that flow rolling round.

      @@tededo awesome! That adds a ton of diversity to your gym as a whole, it allows people to get different looks and start seeing some blended stylistic choices. It turns people into slayers. Glad to hear it!
