3:20 Oh and by the way, there's no shame in fearing sharks. A fish with 3,000 teeth! Color me horror. AND, unlike flying (which I'm scared sheetless of) the fear doesn't go away as you do it more often. Just make sure Nate is farther away from the boat than you when you dive near sharks. 😀
3:18 Did Nate have a confession to make that this place is called THE WALL OF SHARKS? Or did he err on the side of keeping your heartrate down for the dive? 🙂
Great video Fakarava is a special place! As you come in the pass if you take your dinghy to the left a good ways there are some small islands that are spectacular with lots of baby black tips swimming around. We really enjoyed Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. We have been in Thailand/Malaysia for a year now and it's awesome. Good luck with your travels!
Great video. My first scuba dive was at the age of 17, 57 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was fantastic to see your wife and kids enjoying an incredible underwater adventure. This is something your children will remember and use for a lifetime. Great job, Dad.
4:10 (ish) That place is absolutely magical. And quite humbling. In a matter of seconds you go from 20-30 meters to an ABYSS. It always reminds me of the eponymous movie. The sheer drop into that bottomless pit is SO spectacular... and terrifying. Two most amazing diving facts: 1. More people walked on the Moon (or the Hollywood set where it was filmed) than descended beyond 2,000 meters. 2. It takes 5 hours for an emergency descent from 400km orbit. It takes 7 days to decompress from saturation diving at 300 meters.
We were left four tanks, and a 60 ft hookah but they took their other gear with them. We’ve only invested in two sets of regulators so far. Those things aren’t cheap and we wanted to make sure the kids took to it before buying four. Still unsure if we’ll buy two more, actually.
Great Response "They came close But They Didn't " Bite us"!!! I am still Laughing over that one! Thanks for a Great video this week. Looking forward for the next one. Until then, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Where Tiger Sharks 🦈 are every where! Lol 🏝 Aloha
MALAY PENINSULA!?!?!? Do you know how FAR that is from where you are right now? Well, I suspect that this journey is now way beoynd that point so maybe YES, you do. 🙂Good plan though, I'm very envious. Malay, India, Sri Lanka, the Persian Gulf, Red sea, Suez, and finally, JOY, watch poop gracefully float by in the Mediterranean. YAY! 😀 Let's see how it goes!!!
I was wondering… why are the sharks there in such numbers? Do they go out to sea at night to hunt, and this is a safe place to relax until it’s time to go to work?

Thank you so much, Lee!
I highly recommend Fiji the best place I have been and diving as well.
Thank you!

It really is incredible! Thanks for the facts!
2:35 A man who tried to dive with a float-bag and surface with the steel chain says, "Don't worry about the sharks". Kieran is a VERY brave boy!!! 😀
He is indeed!
You only have TWO dive sets onboard!? With the previous owner's hoarding habit (KUDOS sir!) I expected you'd be able to make Cousteau blush.

Yup, we’ve glanced at a map. And you know by know we’re crazy enough to do it.
@@sailing_scout OH I DO!!! Looking forward to a quick detour to free-climb an 8-thousander. 😀
Y’all really do put out informative videos. Really enjoy them.
Glad you like them!

It’s actually where they hunt… at night. The pass attracts lots of fish, too. The whole food chain is there.
