I am sooooooo glad I came across put channel!!! I love your style!
Yay! Thank you!
Love your art and your generosity
You have most certainly inspired me & I am grateful for your generosity in sharing! Just found you on Instagram and I am just delighted. Thank you Allison!
Thank you so much!
You have inspired me to try your incredible techniques Allison. I love your painting speed, actually envy the speed you are able to paint, I would make such a mess. I have been watching you for about 8 months now and can’t wait for every video to come out. You have accomplished so much in the past year and a half or so. Don’t wear yourself out, take time for you, but keep ‘em coming
thankyou so much Brenda! this note means the world to me. so grateful, .
Thanks for sharing part two of this painting! It’s always great to hear how artists approach their work, the reasons why they do what they do, and the experiments they’ve tried. Thank you for the invitation to give your tips a go in our own work, you’ve definitely demonstrated a few things I’d like to experiment with. Keep the videos coming, they’re great! :)
thanks for watching and offering more insights! I love it! Happy Creating!
Agreed
I am a multimedia, print artist. I absolutely love your work here! You use mark making and color in a way that really works and yet looks unconventional. Kudos, & keep up the great work!
thanks so much
I am loving all of these beautiful videos Allison - so relaxing and wonderful to watch your thought processes 😍
thanks for saying this and taking the time to comment

Love this style. Wow!
Your work is exquisite, thanks for sharing 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 UK
thanks Barb !
Thanks a million for sharing your video! Absolutely ❤❤❤ your style!
I am a very tightly detailed watercolorist and I’m always looking to loosen up. So far nothing’s worked. Tight is just my style. Recently I’ve started exploring gelli plate printing to work in abstract. Now that I’ve watched your videos, I can’t wait to try your technique. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
I love the look of the gelli plate printing but I'm not often successful at the techniques I see online. Hope this is something that you'll enjoy as I, too, have to work at loose free mark making... every time I paint, I have to make a conscious effort not to tighten up.
I am delighted to have found your channel. I have never seen your type of artwork that you have shown today. I resonates with me. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful!! Great teaching and I love your Jelly pens! ❤❤❤
those gelly pens are awesome! thanks
Fun! Definitely want to know when your deck is ready. Beautiful work.

thankyou so much!
I love the colour combinations. It is very pretty.
Thank you so much!
I’m inspired. Thank you for the information. I have wanted to make an inspirational deck for years. This seems like the perfect way to start… and I have that same pad of paper in my stash.
Oh, that's awesome! I hope to share more soon as I'm working on putting the images together now. It's so much fun.
You are inspiring!! I didn't notice the uums until I read a comment. Do you hon!! The more comfortable you get, the flow will come. I'm so loving your style and video!! Great job!!
haha, thanks :) I was blown away by my "ums"... and have improved greatly!
I love making dots. Consider myself a dotalina, GB word, love making up words. My favorite shape is a circle, second oval, egg shape I consider as circles of life. Love flower shapes especially pansies where I definitely see heart shapes and morning glories where I see little umbrellas. Bougenvilla lantern like flowers. Love clouds, waves, pebbles, palm leaves, paisley shapes and wrought iron fences. Love the water colour marks there is something free about water color. Love your work. Thank
you, sincerely G.
ha. I love this. thanks for sharing your vocab and shape preferences, and a little bit about you. thanks for watching my video

I love your art. I've been wanting to add markings to some watercolors I've been playing with and you've given me so many ideas. I love your approach.

Really enjoy watching your videos Allison! Wonderful ideas to experiment with as I move along with my practice. Thank you!
thankyou. i appreciate you:)
I love making my own art too... whatever flows through my mind is what I paint...and I think we get better and better all the time even though we never went to art school! 🎨. Also in your video you could add a little animal or a little person holding a flower ..so many ideas!
yes- what a great idea. thanks Carol
Absolutely love what you are doing!! Thanks for sharing your process😊 Very cool way to play further w/WC!! Like the deck idea. Soon I will be trying this out❤❤❤
thanks so much !
Such great tips! I really appreciate seeing what you use to make your marks and how you explain the process. I realize I need to be looser and add more energy when mark making. I hope you do a deck of your paintings - I love your art and have filled my walls yet still want more! 😊
thankyou Cathy. means so much.
TOTALLY love your work! I just found you. You've definitely inspired me. I will give this a go and have high hopes for a refreshed direction....Thanks!

How lovely. This is the first video I am seeing of you. What a wonderfull style you have. It is, as you call it, poetic.
thankyou !
Liked and subscribed! Keep up the good work. ❤
Like this, thank you. It gives me inspiration to do more of this type of free thinking water colours and I am most happy with mixed media.
My pleasure 😊
🎉 always inspiring🎉
thank you.
Love the use of colour!
thanks!
I just found you. I love making marks on my painting but I have not seen this before. You give what I do a real purpose, so thankyou for sharing. I'm now subscribed
thankyou .!
It is so great to watch and listen to your thinking and doing… 😊 Great lesson. I will for sure try your style 😀 and see what come out of it. But I can already feel some resistance… I guess that means that I have already a bit of a style 😃 Merci
Thank you!
Love your "STUFF"!
thankyou Charlotte!
Lovely art! Toastmaster tip, as you continue to get more comfortable filming yourself talking: pay attention to the “um”s and tongue clicks. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
great tip! um, i’ll work on it:)
@@allisondawrant 😆😊 Perfect answer. Thank you for sharing your wonderful art and techniques. Cheering you on!
@@chauninelandau7221 thank you Chaunine!
Allison is very graceful here. I think you need something better to do 1:08 rather than trolling around with comments like this. Get a life.
@@jackiehorn3724The comments were right on & given in a kind manner. Speaking to people does require a bit of practice, & those were the right tips to give to her. I think all agree that Allison is generous with her knowledge, & a lovely person.
I am so glad you came up in my feed
I'm glad you've commented this!
Thanks for sharing your work!
thanks for your interest Lizzy❤️
Just found your channel! I also am from Canada in NB. I also started following you on IG and I am actually working on this loose watercolor mark making approach... Got a long way to go as watercolor is not my preferred medium so far but I am really loving what you and a couple other artists are doing with it.
thanks so much - do you share your art on Ig too?
Just found you and love your work, this is similar to how I work these days, I love how you don’t know what it will be right away. I’m subscribing 😊
thanks so much
Hello 💕
I have been searching for a different type of art to help bring back my creativity. And your work has caught my attention.
- It’s unique.
- It has a rich quality.
- It’s unlike the norm. (The status quo can get minuteness. )
- And it’s pleasing to the eye ‼️
I can’t wait to give it a go!
THANKYOU & I’ll be watching. :))
Ack! your comment is keeping me inspired! thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Dot from Derbyshire UK
Just found you, love your art I hope your channel grows and grows, it is beautiful, I will continue to follow you.
Lots of love from the UK, Dot x
Dot! this makes me so happy. I just started but hope to keep growing with it, as an artist, and in technology , and inspiring others the way art inspires me.:) xx
Thanks for inspiring me! ❤
thanks for encouraging me with your comment:)
I love your work.😊💖
thanks Erica
I enjoyed watching both of these videos. The outcome is really lovely. I like to doodle and I find it calming if I'm in 'wait' for something... Dr. Appt., a food order, etc, so I used to keep a little pad in my purse. I've gotten away from it for a while - not sure why - but I think I'm going to try doing some watercolor as in your first video, add a few more different pens and see what happens. Thank you for sharing. P.S. Thank you for the Instagram tip... following you now. :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate your online support!!
This is really interesting and a wee bit different. Thanks for sharing your work.......Alioban

oh that is so lovely. I am also new and trying to create some ideas of multimedia paint work. When I am brave enough, i will show you my effort. For now, I am going to learn as much from you and your lovely work as possible.
thank you so much for your time. I can see how passionate you are
thank you! and yes- you can dm me on Ig and show me your work anytime , or by email:)
I love mark making on water colour and finding partially hidden elements like your leaves and feathers.
thank you so much
Amazing feelings ,, delicate golden fingers 🌷
Aw thanks!

aw, thankyou Rose
Thanks for the upload, dont shake the posca pen with the cap, off! the paint will splash all over everything trust me! beautiful work
Great reminder! thanks so much
Very inspiring 🎉
thankyou
Lovely ❤
thank you Ashley
Loved your mark making videos! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm not an artist, just someone who really enjoys playing with watercolors, your technique is wonderful. Would you be so kind to enlist the different types of pens and pencil colors you used? Thanks again!!!
Will start this soon! I've just started RUclips and so much to learn!
❤
I love how you dipped your water color pencil in water for the flower at the top. What a cool technique! What brand pencils were you using and also what was the smaller thicker one you used called? Thank you again for a lovely video ❤
thanks Laura! I can do another little video on this and art supplies that I love to use in my work- I think any softer watercolour pencil will work (however, I love Caran D'ache Supracolor Soft pencils. at one time they carried these in local art stores in Canada- but I have only found them online lately. the thicker "Gelatos" are fun by Faber-Castell, if I recall that's the one you are thinking of.
I love this! Thank you!
Have you ever thought of using some gold leaf?
I love adding gold leaf. thanks for the reminder as I tend to forget I have it!
I really love your palette - does it have a name? Is it available online do you know? They’re gorgeous colours, and I love what you do with them.
I hope to do an art supply video and list soon. I'm brand new to RUclips! like less than a month! so, stay tuned while I get better with the features! check out theoceanpaper.com (they are based in Princeville Kauai)
I really love your art. could you tell me who you are doing the oracle card course with please. I would be really interested in finding out more. many thank for your lovely videos.
yes- i took 3 courses on the oracle deck- Alena Hennessy “Create your own oracle deck”, Cathy Nichols , and one on skillshare and i can reference the name shortly.
thanks that so helpful
@@allisondawrant
the other 2 classes are on www.skillshare.com by Monica Stadalski.
I will be following on IG
thanks Kim!! xx
Very nice, but do you know how many times you say um ?
yes! I was shocked! but it was also my first video and had no idea I would start a following on here. So , check out my latest videos- and count the ums.... :) thanks for watching and writing Lynda
I love creating, I encourage Amazon for your needs...less expensive for a higher quality paper than the Artist loft from Michaels....
my favourite paper is Arches cold press- but I have heard the company is making changes... My second choice would be Canson XL or Strathmore 140lb papers... for beginners, artist loft - Michaels in house brand is a more affordable option for just "practice"- but yes- it's still not ideal is it?! thanks for watching Dinese.
@@allisondawrant I also use Arches cold press, I get two packs in blocks from Amazon very inexpensive! Agreed! Beginners can do well with less expensive paper, and if they fancy using ink as well as watercolor, Michaels has Canson watercolor paper, I use this exclusively for testing new techniques or just using inks to then wash color on later. I believe the price point is less than Artist Loft for the weight and amount of sheets. Thanks for your input, your work is fun to watch! Keep exploring and growing as all of us are doing just that!!
@@DineseBeckert oh- i will have to check out Arches on Amazon. thanks for these great tips on other brands and how you use them. much appreciated . happy creating.
Great video. Ignore people who have issues with ummm.. good grief!
Are you going make some how to interpret the cards?
yes, i am!
@@allisondawrant wonderful idea. Love it.
Agneta fr Sweden
@@agnetahallberg9845 thankyou! I'm excited about it.
@@allisondawrant I understand ❤
where is part one?
should be there under my channel with 1/4
I was just going to write a comment as well on the ummm issue. Lovely painting, great idea, however, is irritating to listen to. I've got the same issue with presenters who keep saying " guys" when addressing their audience.
Or “like” as every other word!
I totally agree with you- it irritates me to listen to on replay! But who knew this very first video I've ever done on RUclips would take off in less than a month and now I'm getting monetized from it?! (check out my other videos and count the ums :) ) You won't get many! Such great learning and thanks for watching and taking the time to help me improve!
What is an oracle deck?
everyone seems to have a different definition- but for me it's a handheld deck of my art on cards that can be shuffled or chosen at different times of the day or before different life circumstances as a way of reflection and insight and appreciating meaningful coincidences. Also, as art "prompts" for creative practices.
50 seconds in I’m subscribed! ❤🎉✨🪲🥳 Would you share more about the class you’re taking too please?
Yes! I just finished Alena Hennessey's class "Create Your Own Oracle Deck". Let me know if you'd like more info- happy to share. Another more affordable class is by Cathy Nichols Art -create your own oracle deck. Both fabulous artists/teachers and courses.
