  • Art and artist mark making over watercolour painting.
    - This is the second of 2 videos demonstrating my intuitive watercolour background, but showing my favourite mark making techniques and supplies over dried watercolour. I'm using 140lb , cold pressed watercolour paper, and my palette is from www.theoceanpaper.com.

    You have inspired me to try your incredible techniques Allison. I love your painting speed, actually envy the speed you are able to paint, I would make such a mess. I have been watching you for about 8 months now and can’t wait for every video to come out. You have accomplished so much in the past year and a half or so. Don’t wear yourself out, take time for you, but keep ‘em coming

    Thanks for sharing part two of this painting! It’s always great to hear how artists approach their work, the reasons why they do what they do, and the experiments they’ve tried. Thank you for the invitation to give your tips a go in our own work, you’ve definitely demonstrated a few things I’d like to experiment with. Keep the videos coming, they’re great! :)

      I love the look of the gelli plate printing but I'm not often successful at the techniques I see online. Hope this is something that you'll enjoy as I, too, have to work at loose free mark making... every time I paint, I have to make a conscious effort not to tighten up.

      my favourite paper is Arches cold press- but I have heard the company is making changes... @@allisondawrant I also use Arches cold press, I get two packs in blocks from Amazon very inexpensive! Agreed! Beginners can do well with less expensive paper, and if they fancy using ink as well as watercolor, Michaels has Canson watercolor paper, I use this exclusively for testing new techniques or just using inks to then wash color on later. I believe the price point is less than Artist Loft for the weight and amount of sheets. Thanks for your input, your work is fun to watch! • @allisondawrant
      @allisondawrant  Год назад

      everyone seems to have a different definition- but for me it's a handheld deck of my art on cards that can be shuffled or chosen at different times of the day or before different life circumstances as a way of reflection and insight and appreciating meaningful coincidences. Also, as art "prompts" for creative practices.
