Thanks Bill. If your PC has Bluetooth connectivity, then yes it can connect to the Sound Assist. You have to put the Sound Assist in "Bluetooth pairing mode" and then go to your PC Bluetooth settings, find the Sound Assist, and then connect it.

Does anyone have any experience using the Widex Sound Assist as a PC microphone? I know it works for hands-free phone use; does it do the same for Windows PC? If so, how is the microphone quality?

Hi Mike. Yes, the mic from the Sound Assist will work if connected to PC via bluetooth. Regarding sound quality, I tested it out and the person on the other line couldn't tell a difference between the laptop vs Sound Assist mic. So it must be good enough for web conference at least.

Hi Valerie. For TV streaming with Widex Moment, the Widex TV Play accessory is your best bet. Not sure if the Sound Assist can connect to smart TV bluetooth. If it can, I suspect the streaming signal will not be as good as the TV Play.

It's not clear that this works on all moment line IE it is listed as an accessory only for the moment sheer line but not the older moment line of hearing aids . I have a moment 330 and it would not pair with that version , but yet the app does list it as an accessory , but the web page does NOT . So saying it works on all moment Widex may not be correct .

Hi Joe F. The Sound Assist will work with Moment hearing aids from the latest Sheer sRIC to the previous mRIC. So your 330 should be able to connect to it, as long as it's the Receiver-in-the-canal or the Behind-the-Ear models. The only Moment it does not connect to is the smaller custom in-the-ear version, since those don't have bluetooth.

@@amplehearing called Widex consumer help line, they said I need to update my microcode on the hearing aids and my hearing provider can do that using the Widex remote connect device , I guess they factory reset it and then when it connects to the app it pulls the latest version of the Widex microcode . The Man at Widex said this happened to him and that is what fixed it ? Going to find out on Monday , I'll update . Bottom line yes it should work but not without updates , that Widex doesn't push because it's only for the Assist ?

Got my hearing provider to re-install the latest firmware and my 330 now binds to the assist without problems . So for older Widex devices keep this in mind, you might need to get the latest firmware re-installed to bind to the sound assist. Now why Widex doesn't put a new version of the micro code out there so that you don't have to go through this , is a good questions ...
