I feel you regarding rigging. I bought a cage and haven't really used it yet. It just seems to add weight and make carrying the cam less comfortable
Not having built-in NDs is really a pain. I used to run a C300 and the convenience of pushing a button to get the level you want is unbeatable.
Another problem with stacking filters and adapter is that, when you start dialling in the variable ND, there is always the danger that you start UNSCREWING one of the stacked components. And when you have the mattebox on, you can't easily see the filter array, meaning you're fumbling around trying to twist the variable ND with the danger of touching the glass with your greasy fingers. Grrrr. Oh and, as you will undoubtedly realised, if you get a 4x5.65 external mist filter, with it in, you'll lose access to turning the variable ND… such fun!

Whatta dilemma 😅 I didn't even realise that, not being able to turn the VND when a 4x5 filter is on.
Ultimately agree, not having a built-in ND is a pain, but then again, I like having a small and nimble camera, so there's no winning 🤷🏽‍♂️
