I had a breakthrough yesterday when training with a higher belt in BJJ. We were rolling and he could see me thinking about what the correct technique should be instead of actually making any move and then adjusting for technique afterwards. On my walk home I thought about this a bit and how this relates to pretty much every area of my life, stop thinking so hard and start taking action. Once you’ve taken action you can course correct with some thought but if you only ever think about doing something you will never get it done. It kinda seems self evident but I guarantee you this happens to you even if you don’t realise it.
There’s a book I just read very recently called: “The Inner game of tennis” lots of world athletes read this book such as Tom Brady, Roger Fed - etc. and it explains this exact phenomenon you had and explains in detail how to overcome it
@@TheComedyHistorian just 4 weeks now. Although I don’t feel like I have much physical benefits from this sport yet, I certainly feel different mentally. I’m planning on increasing the amount of times I train a week soon.
Hey, I stumbled across your channel and whilst I know the information you teach is mainly aimed at young men, I actually feel a decent amount of it is applicable to men of all different ages to be honest.
So many young men are being deluded into a sense of self-accomplishment from figures like Tate, without having done anything. On the other hand, Sir Gorilla here is a good role model because he asks us to reflect on our real past actions.
How does Tate delude young men exactly? He literally tells them that they're broke, they need to get fit, to socialize more and not spend their life on dumb shit. That's quite the opposite to me
@@wilmartenor3087 yeah I don't like Tate very much but I've seen him talk about how young men aren't confident because they haven't done the work in order to deserve it. Don't know what OP is talking about
Another great video Jack as per usual! When you have an abundant mindset and your actions are aligned with that, it puts you in a higher position than everyone else because you will achieve your goals. Thank you brother once again!
This is a very good bit of rambling in your talk. I turn age 21 tomorrow and struggled with confidence until the night I got severely beat up the summer I turned age 17. I was extremely muscular as a gymnast and felt confidence as a gymnast. That night a group of guys decided to target my "gymnast abs" I lasted over a half an hour and gained confidence I never had before.
