The first time he tested the scooter on the street with that ridiculous on/off switch for an accelerator had me laughing like a drain. Honestly, one of the most enjoyable things I've seen in ages.
BOLA PRO cricket ball bowling machine. Those things throw a rock hard ball at 100mph stock with a 12v battery. They are solidly built so should be able to take a few more volts stock.... and with modded motors you could get ridiculous speeds.
my 48v mod has been running for 2 years. Doubled the tyre diameter and pulls like a train. Its a bad idea using solenoid, I made my own mechanical speed controller simply switching up 12v 24v 36v 48v originally and that toasted the drive gear too much instant torque, you can get a decent 48v 200amp for a couple of hundred and you get re gen!. I used mine to bring back rocks for the garden on a trailer 400kg at a time from 4 miles away about 20 runs!. Original motor is a 950 watt but thats continuous rating, at 200 amp 48v thats drawing like 10hp+!. Key is a large ally heat sink on the motor under normal use flying around the woods it doesnt even get as warm as your bath water. Oh and I have two trailer seats for the kids too!.
I'm actually just about to start the MOD on mine. I am waiting on the programmer to start there. I would be eternally grateful for any advise you might give that will save me from trial and error. Thanks in advance!

We do this at work with some of our older electric bikes. So far I think we managed an unofficial 97 km/h on ~72 volts or so. Originally it was a 340 watt kit... The motors we were using don't mind in the slightest, we have replaced a fair few controllers though!
