Gotta admit that thrawn’s Star destroyer with the eye is sion is giving me some serious obi wan Star fighter mounted in its hyperdrive rig vibes from episode two attack of the clones
I’m really enjoying your videos - for the content naturally but also for your thoroughly relaxed yet totally engaged delivery. Those videos where you invite us to imagine what we might do if we inhabited this galaxy (small ships for beginners for example) are my particular favourites. Thank you for creating it all!
"Your First Starship"
Thank you, that means a lot! I will have to make some more videos like that, since those are some of the most fun to write, too. I’ve got an idea for one about different businesses you can run in the Star Wars galaxy and what kinds of ships and equipment you’d need to start them, but I have yet to come up with an attention-grabbing title for it. I might workshop some ideas and make that video in a couple weeks!
Considering its history, the Chimera has to be my favorite ship. Although if I went solely with looks, it would be the cute RP82 Fiend fighters. It reminds me a little of the Russian I-16.
That’s a great comparison; I bet that’s what they’re based on. There are other planes that are similar, but that one has the right amount of stubbiness.
To me, the Fiend fighters look uncannily similar to actual Grumman Hellcat airplanes from World War 2. I made a Lego replica of a fiend fighter shortly after watching the episode where they appear.

The shuttle would’ve took inspiration from the 1984 dune ornithopter
The size and proportions look like the 1984 ornithopter, but the sharp angles reminded me of the 2022 version.

The sith starfighters remind me a mix between a messerchmitt bf109 and polikarpov i-16
I think they kind of look like the P-47 Thunderbolt.

wonder how many Super Star Destroyers there are in canon? cause it takes, what, 7 to powerup the Eye? and when you include the Executor and Eclipse and the one that crashed on Jakku, that's 10. that is a lot of Supers, and those are just the ones i know of
Of course, that’s assuming each ship only has one hyperdrive core. I would think that a ship of that size would almost have to have at least two or three. I guess there’s no reason it would *have* to, but it would make sense to me at least.
You're on the right path. Love the videos. Expertly put together. Season 1 of Asohka was stellar and alot of fan service but who DOESN'T like fan service? 😂

@@RadioFreeCoruscant Me too! Funny thing is that I was thinking that Morgan's shuttle reminded me of 1984 Dune....Duke Letos shuttle, 2 seconds later u name dropped it. I wonder if there was some inspiration or homage there.
I don’t know how if it was an intentional reference or not, but it seems likely. The original Star Wars had quite a bit of Dune inspiration, and Ahsoka was chock full of homages to other things like Lord of the Rings and Greek and Norse mythology.
Great video as usual! What do you think they're gonna do about what Baylon was up to at the end of the season? Now that his actor has passed do you think they'll replace him or what? And why would they tease us with that for 5 seconds before not even green lighting a season 2 lmao
I’m not sure, but I feel like they will probably just recast him, though I could certainly see them simply writing him out and finishing his story in a book or comic if he wasn’t going to play a huge role in season 2.

7:03 isn't Shin's fighter the same kind as General Grevious' from EP3 (ROTS) that Obi Wan uses to escape Utapu?
I thought it was at first, but if you compare them side by side, they’re not as similar as they seem. They could be another model by the same manufacturer, though!
Except for the E wings and the Chimera which they stole from the EU, all other designs are just awful.

And there's quite a bit that he said since a month ago haha I don't have Disney plus so I can't watch it but I just want to know more about it. And that circle ring starship thing. Which I also find Fascinating
Oh, I get what you mean now. I don’t know if Huyang got enough to do to warrant making another video on him so soon, but we got to see that he has a whole entire lightsaber workshop on the shuttle and learned that it’s been his shuttle since before Ahsoka was even born, so that was pretty neat.
