I love this series on vintage film cameras! Thank you John and Mr. Woo. He is a great, knowledgeable presenter. Your camera work highlights what he is saying perfectly. I like the (seemingly) one take, honest feel of these videos.
My first job when I left school was a foot messenger for a photographic lab, after a few months I was promoted to machine printer (mostly D&P (develop & print)) but because I expressed an interest in photography, they let me shoot pack shots from time to time and the Nikon F3 was the camera I used. A solid, no nonsense camera.
This brought back some good memories, man the adventures I had with my F3HP back in my news days. Oh that motor drive sound! I had the big rechargeable battery, I think that gave 7 fps vs the AA's 5, but I could be wrong on that. I don't miss film but I'm nostalgic for the F3.
The F3 will always be my favourite film camera - It has the most Toys. And the F3HS had the fastest frame rate at 13.5 fps. I miss using AA batteries in cameras... 🦘
I'm very impressed by Mr Woo's knowledge! He is history of photography on two legs! Incidentally, i'm a Nikon devotee. Started with a Nikormat as a student, today with digital SLRs - Nikon always!
Great info, that body with the bump for a grip looks like the Df. This F3 looks like the Df was based on it. You should do one on the camera the Zf was based on, with the Zf for comparison.
Thank you, John and Mr. Woo, the video is absolute gold, and I hope to see more of you guys.📸👍
As a young highschool student and amateur black and white photographer in the early 1980s, this was my absolute dream camera.

You know you can get the shot and a front page with a F3

I purchased my F3 as a used camera in the early 90’s still running strong, only ever changed the batteries. Thats all.

Skip to the 5:00 minute mark if you want to actually hear about the F3.
F3 has the most buttery-smooth film advance lever ! 👍
Mr. Woo forgot about the F100 that came between the F5 and F6.
Yes, I left it out as this series is about the flagship modeled, will do the F100, N100 in future episodes.
Where is Mr Woo’s shop?

I like the f3, but the electrics go bad. Fm is my choice
I have both the Nikon F3 and the Canon New F-1, the Canon are the better one ! Nikon F2 are better than F3.
