I've had mixed feelings about Lewis over the years. He never fails to engage me, but he's such a self-dramatizer, and a narcissist, even with all the self-depracating. And the Jewish chip-on-the-shoulder bit- and I'm Jewish- is irritating. By the way, I can't believe that some member of an audience at a performance or book signing in Texas actually asked to see his tail. And, no, I won't give Lewis poetic license here. It's wrong to keep portraying southerners as anti-semites.
I never heard of Richard Lewis until he came on the show 7th Heaven playing a rabbi and father of Matt Camden's wife Sarah Glass, Richard Glass. Funniest guy and good actor.
