It’s 4:30am and I’m still watching everything I can watch on him. I even watched a video on guitar and how he is achieving his unique sound and his board. I don’t even play guitar. He’s incredible!

First new song I've heard this year that is timeless, in any genre. I love the unique style. Whispering and mumbling, then belting it out with rasp. Awesome.
I completely understand the sentiment, but I feel like his music deserves a big stadium. Can you imagine the riffs in a place filled with tens of thousands of people going crazy? I imagine something like the live aid concerts in the 80s 😂
@stunalife yeah true that, I saw him once in May which was a small intimate show and it was magical and mysterious, and then I saw him again in October and it was a hyped up rock show, still with the ambiance and mystery but the energy levels turned up to max
I’ve got an old Alesis Wedge reverb from back around 1998 in my studio that can sound that horribly muddy without even trying. I wonder if that is what he is using. I also recently threw away three Alesis ADAT recorders that haven’t worked properly in 20 years. They did make some cool gear though before they went out of business.
Not trying to be dismissive, and I think it's really great that he's using guitar in this way, but all I could hear was Summer of '69. Which is cool because all music comes from somewhere and I think it's really important to acknowledge and embrace the past. And even though I often feel like everything has been done before there will always be ways to make things new and fresh, and I do think this is a pretty fresh take.

Wow, the live version is incredible and so much better than the single version. Single needs a bigger sound and production. It's so DIY compared to the live version!

Finally? George Clanton is the undisputed Godfather of vapor king and has been doing it for years. There’s not much vapor in mkgees music, it’s just stripped back 80s
I don't think Mk.gee is vaporwave, but I def think he has influences. I love this Two Star album because the sound is a mix of all of my favorite genres, and vaporwave is one of them, so I get the connection.
