I've blown out windows a couple times on my carbon cub.. Now I wrap it with a nice 3M tape as well as the double sided tape. I slip alot, so the side load is heavy on my airplane.
Dude! Nice progress. Can’t wait to see it covered up, and on the 29s! :) The Stewart’s system is legit. Saw Mike Patey used them for some of the Scrappy build.
Just wondering if you would want to mount the plate that's in front of your tail wheel from the underside so it is a removable access panel to the ELT and gassing the shock. I was thinking of doing that with mine.
You're probably gonna want to cut an access door in the rear baggage panel to get to the battery. Ask me how I know... Also, as far as the tailwheel lock, the biggest issue is bumping it by accident when you don't want it. You'll probably find that you never use the TW lock anyway.
Looking great!! Nicely done! Can you send a link of the nutserts you are using to attach the screws? Dennis has a LOT of material to go through to try to find exactly what you are talking about.
Thanks for the feedback, here is the link for the Nutserts. www.ebay.com/itm/Rivet-nuts-8-32-aluminum-25pc-BUY-3-or-MORE-10-Rebate-rivnut-riv-nut-nutsert/293600827509?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
You’re build looks great. I noticed that on one of your flaps there were two center cut outs for the flap control arm and on the other it looks like the typical one cut out for a flap control arm. What is that for? And are those Steve Henry’s aileron and flap leading edge cuffs?
Thomas, thanks a ton. Yes the flap has two cut outs, one is for the cable connection, and the second is the return spring connection. Yes, the leading edge and aileron has Steve mod on it as well.
@@HookedOnUtah They show up best on a white frame, or so I'd expect and have been told. I got called out on this once on my first build, it was dk brown, by the FAA guy (pre DAR's) who was doing the inspection. 4 airframes later, I've always gone lighter colors since. Not to rain on your parade, just what he told me, lighter colors show cracks better. Don't re-paint it on my account!! Looking good!
Looks good! I like the carbon brake line protective tube!
thank you thank you!! When I'm done, I'm coming out to fly with you.
Yeah.. that’s a great idea.. I see some carbon tubes in my future
HookedOnUtah sounds good!!
I really like the way you did the lexan on the pilot side vs with the metal around it. Gives you lots more visibility.

Forrest thanks pal!!

Looks great!
you have done a lot, looks great.

That’s an option for sure! I’ll do a video on what I’m doing

YES this is supreme advice. I can't tell you how many guys I've talked to that needed to access the battery for whatever reason.
I'm going to work out how to build one this weekend.
Cory, i'm expecting you to take me out when I'm ready to fly my Highlander, I need you to show me the BC ropes.
HookedOnUtah email me and I can send a few pix of how I did mine if you’d like stpilot09@gmail
@@Stpilot I just sent you and email

where did you get the gas tank sight gauge extenders at 13:33 Thank you
I purchased them from Summit Racing. They are a cool Billet clamp that clamps over the hose and barb, giving it a cleaner look at securing the hose.
what size of carbon tube is that ? i think i do the same on mine :)
Love watching your progress. Any ideas how many hours you're in?
Thanks!! I’m about 500 hours into my build!

Hard to see cracks in a black airframe, next time! That carbon tube on the rear gear leg will also act as a trailing edge fairing somewhat, a 2 for 1.
cracks in a black airframe show up better than most colors.

You recovering it with oratex?
I'm covering it with Stewart Systems.
