Great job with the editing on this interview, Bryan! I should have also mentioned that pilots/builders can also check directly with Just Aircraft owners Troy Woodman and Gary Schmitt at the Walhalla, SC factory to source the kits and do builder assist there. See you soon at another Fly-In! Jeff
Good interview with realistic pricing. I didn’t hear any reason for him flying from the right seat but I guess it just feels more comfortable for him and for a lot of pilots. Right hand dominant gives a pilot greater control of the stick while the left hand is used for engine and avionics. He has a sweet aircraft build that he can be very proud of. Bryan you are making my aircraft decision very hard with all these different interviews. I’ll just need to locate and fly each model to make a final decision?? Keep up the great work..
I am in the same boat. But to be honest i think kitfox seems to have the most builder support. Plus the basic s7 kit for the kitfox is about 29k plus the firewall forward kit. If not kitfox the highlander is second on my list then the the rans s20 or s21.
916medic - I think we have the same mindset because for me I love the wing folding ability and if I’m sharing a hanger to help cut monthly costs this may come in handy. I can build most aircraft myself either metal or composites if the instructions are clear and concise. I know Trent Palmer has given the KitFox greater notoriety and made it almost a household name in aviation all from his UTube channel usage. Now you have me thinking about the KitFox again. Lol when it comes down to sending in my monies in it will probably be the KitFox!! I just don’t know... honestly I wish I could weld the fuselage myself and save that cost. Just send me the detailed design of the structure and I’ll get the 4130 and do the work. I don’t mind building the jig either. Who knows I may even build one for the wife. 😂
Jason - but then you add firewall forward and avionics lights and engine but he used builder assist and it speeds up but costs too. Plus he had upgrades to his basic kit. Still a good price for an aircraft but there are less expensive was to build one.
That's one heck of an airplane! Thank you for your service, Jeff!

$100K is realistic? He said the basic kit was $47K but it’s listed on the Just website at $24,900. Even the SUPERSTOL XL is only listed at $44,300.

I see the ‘Swamp Monster’ in the background!!
The propeller is pronounced like "duke."
My comment below
Nice plane but at 100K sadly is out of my price range
I know they are excellent performers but their design engineer didn't have a french curve on his drafting table. Fugly compared to the competition.
