    I purchased one from your website over the weekend. It will be my first whistle and I am excited to own it. I hope to play a tune on it here in Fresno, California and enjoy sharing the sound of a new instrument with family. Thanks for the whistle and the videos.

    Hey Phil good to see you are still innovating. The video has a green hue.......have you been out reving up the garden during the lockdown?

    That I MUST have. I love Copper and the patina it gives. I only wish you would use Delrin for the Mouthpiece, and I've been more and more going back to the "flat" opening. I find it in a way better to play and sound than the "D" & "((" styles. Have you thought about using Delrin, I gladly pay the extras. And I just had to write before even the video had gone for a minute, so if not flat Mouthpiece, would you consider that as well? Big fan of your whistles. From Norway with love.❤️🙏😊

    I'd love to try it. I kind of miss back pressure on all the whistles I have

    Hi, I ‘m back with another question , it’ s tuneable ? But how,please , I ‘ve tried manually turning the silver barrel’ the copper section, pulling, pushing , nothing moves, I’m reluctant to take a tool to it . Many thanks for your help.

    Hi there, I have had my Cobre for a week now and love the sound and the way it plays, however, I have a problem with the discolouring of the copper section. In just a week I have dark circles around each hole which really spoils the look, gone is the lovely original copper colour. I’m quite disappointed. Is this normal? Is there some maintenance I should be doing? Otherwise, I love playing,g it, find it easy and effortless, clear notes, volume when required, don’t want to change it, but need to sort this (manufacturing?) problem. Any help or comments would be useful -- especially from the makers!! Would add a photo if I knew how!!

      The discolouration is called a Patina, you can either leave it as most do as it gives the whistle an aged look or you can clean back to bright with some Brasso.Up to you.

      @@philhardywhistles Thank you, I’ve just sent you an email directly, so will probably get the same answer. Perhaps some information before or when purchasing would have helped to avoid the disappointment!

    I'm new to whistles and... Does anyone know the notes of this kind of 6 hole whistles?

    • @DOUG250GP
      @DOUG250GP 4 года назад +1

      Phil is using a high D whistle in the video. It's in the key of D. The lowest note is a D (all 6 holes covered). As you cover less holes you go higher up the scale.
      D scale: D, E, F#, G, A, B, C#. The C# note is no holes covered. There are more notes you can also play on the D whistle but you will have to halfway cover the hole to reach the desired note. There is also at least a two octave range on whistles. You have to blow harder to reach the next octave. The high D whistle is very common for Irish music.

      @@DOUG250GP thank you! Does it also mean you could play an E Dorian, for example? I guess a whistle player should have plenty of whistles to cover each possible key and change the instrument according to specific songs.

      @MrPaulOfield 4 года назад

      @@DOUG250GP Please, not at all! You are so cool helping me out (pardon my english as I am novice spaniard). I was indeed trying to widen up my own knowledge by adding that: if the 6 holes are D Major, then one could play E Dorian, F phrygian, and so on.
      I already have a Tunable Thomann D Whistle (4 euros)... My last question would be: Is there any huge difference between both the Thomann D whistle and this one? I mean, It seems obvious taking the prize into account, but still...
      Thank you!
