Thank you homer simpin
Couldnt agree more.
When I was young, songs like this one would grab my attention because of the sound. After growing up and learning english, I'm amazed by how meaningful are the lyrics of hard rock and metal from 2000 and 2010's. Sometimes it hit like a truck.
Right in two by tool. The animation one makes it 100x better.
YES!!! This is it
Metal is life. And many other sub genres 😎
Props to you for learning a new language, and improving your music experience
@@cyberwarlord7363 Tool is just godly. I'll never forget the day I heard Pneuma and got into them.
The anger, the passion, the heart. One of the best bands of the century.
They have such an ability to write such powerful songs that after all these years, they still give me goosebumps.
AltFreak25 it's mind-boggling how prescient this song in particular is. But Rise Against has seemed so forward thinking for almost my whole adult life. I'm glad people are still listening to what they were saying before what is now happening. It makes me hopeful
I love these guys. They write amazing music, but they clearly have a social conscience too. If Tim was a Brit I'd nominate him to be our next Prime Minister :)
It'ss almost like it was predictive programming or foreshadowing a future events.
But we know how it goes; the same people that run Hollywood can see into the future with unworldly source, and they can't help but too slowly force-fed you or feed you messages that will slowly condition you in the future of what will happen next.
Just like how 9/11 was predicted by so much Hollywood movies.

This song means alot to me because me and my family are actual imigrants who had to flee our home country. We were actual refugees in the literal sense and had to flee twice because the first time was toclose to home and was torisky to stay in the second country. “We’ve been pulling out the nails that hold up everything you’ve known” is one of the most beautiful, revolutionary threats I’ve heard in my modest life.

The band is hyper left wing. I promise we really need the nails they are threatening to pull out.
@@imperius88 that is your assessment, I think your judgement is flawed. I think a critical look at institutions is reasonable. I think overhauling most of them is necessary. I am assuming you are also USA. Our social programs are starved and our police programs are fat. If I had to make a judgement call, I’d say this band was conservative in their requests.

It's scary how songs like this only ring truer than ever now. Things haven't changed and are getting worse. Just don't let that make you lose sight of hope and change. Let that fact make you fight harder.
'Things' as in?
how are things worse besides the US economy failing with inflation through the roof? we got 100 billion for ukraine but cant put a dollar into the south and central american countries that our immigrants are running from.
All things constantly change. The concepts of worse and better are not to be confused with reality. They're just incomplete abstractions of reality, observed through a subjectively colored lense. Equanimity is key. Why fight, if you can as well dance...

Even though this song is about sweatshop labor this song still reminds me of stagnant town that I am from with no room to grow or be something more than a sweatshop laborer!
Most minimum wage jobs are basically modern sweat shoes, employers refuse to hire enough workers so they can guilt trip the ones they have into doing more and more work, then they complain like no one wants to work.

Rise Against was a huge turning point for me and one of the main catalysts of my political awakening and formation of my own views separate from what adults around me told me was right. I'm grateful for that. Siren Song of the Counter Culture and Sufferer and the Witness were essential albums.
what is wrong their early albums like Revolutions per Minute
Honestly, I used to listen to them when I was younger, thinking how they were so correct in their political views, but then I grew up and seen things, lived through things, got more wise. Still, gonna scream every lyric and play every chord of their songs I can play - no issue, love them

I feel bad for Brandon, the drums leave him stationary so he cant roam the store with everyone else :(
Drums on wheels?
@@ShogunKintaro agree
then he will only get charged with making noise while the others get charged for both
This song has so much symbolism in it. Good job 👍
you fucking idiot
this has been a reality for the past century's
Well hope the past 5 years since you commented have treated you well 😂
Can't believe this song is now as old as I was when I first heard it.
I'm from Poland and now, during war in Ukraine this song hits different.
who here thinks that rise against should be inducted into the rock and roll hall fame as soon as their eligible
Fuck yeah
YES
They're*
They're not eligible until 2026
They really should. I've seen hundreds of bands live, even bands that I enjoy much more than Rise Against, but I've never seen a band that sounds so alike their recorded work. It's seriously identical to how they actually sound, and neither have I ever seen a band put on such a good show. I will never forget the experience I had seeing them live. It was transcendent, to say the least.
The chorus of this song makes me want to trash a walmart. 10/109
damnnn... BURN!!!
;-))
yeperoo
everyone knows walmart is trash so u won't be making a difference
This is one of the best comments ive seen xD
I remember that there was a year when my playlist was only full of Rise Against music.
I discovered this song through a One Piece AMV - 'This is One Piece'. Highly recommend for any OP fan, it goes hard.
Me too, one of the bests amv that we have in history

How many times do you need to hear the same joke
Yes
Hi 2019
@@jacencade4019 Hi
@@jacencade4019 Who are you?
I always felt identified with this song from the point of view of my family starting to lose everything (job, house, and even the very family), and myself as a teenager having to fight harder than the rest to achieve anything I wanted. Then now I'm also feeling identified but from a political standpoint, looking at the reality of my falling country (Argentina), it's crisis, and how the governments show themselves as "holding us up", but in reality they are just burying us further down. And if the course of things keep its path, the unevitable runaway into exile. Feels like this is the very song that fits my life. But I'm no fool though, I know I'm still lucky and I'm neither the hungry or the cold. I'm just stuck held down, further down each day but still have the chance to fight against it. Sadly there are people, the people for whom the song is really about, that are held way further down than me and can only fight for survival. For those out there, my hopes for you to have the strength to hold your ground, and mainly the strength to still get yourselves a proper education while fighting starvation, cause that's the very tool that can make you really strike back out of misery. No one can fight for us, they'll just let us down. We have to be the ones to stand our own grounds.
Ahhh old RUclips days
I turned my daughter on to you guys when she was nine. She just got to see you in Denver at 22, all she could say was " I wish you were here", me too!!
You can feel the menssage louder and clearer than ever... This song still Rocks🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Lyrically, The Sufferer and the Witness was their best album.
Savior? That song makes me cry
sean dye Savior was on ATR
Sean Kauder Sufferer and the Witness and Siren Song of the Counter-Culture are my two favorite Rise Against album
The sufferer and the witness is so fucking well balanced... has raw emotions, has sadness, has hope. Has some killer riffs and was damn fresh when it came out, hands down, the best work they have atm
Sufferer and the Witness is great, but Siren Song was my first full album and Endgame has to be my favorite. I have a quote from Architects as my senior quote.
I seen this song live outside at Apache Junction, Arizona.
Right at the end, a lighting bolt ⚡️
Crashed in the background of the stage area on the distance...
They stopped playing but they said
"Hey you can't beat mother nature" ✊️.
Best song I've seen performed live
Ever.
How does this song only have 115M? It should easily have 500M!
Fr! Or more!
The beginning of this song is so fucking solid. The rest of the song is great I just wanted to emphasize that the begining (with that guitar riff and the vocals) is perhaps the greatest I've heard on a song......like ever
The starting riff goes almost through the whole song though haha.
TheTricker96 He's referring to the emotional build up the riff creates. Even though it's repeated, the drumming intensity takes away from it (which is not bad at all, it's how music should be).
Rise Against - Savior, first 20 secs has, for me the same idea
+Alejandro Aguilar You know fuck all about musical theory lol....
+Alejandro Aguilar Dead Can't Testify, by Billy Talent. Prefer that... This is meh, not that amazing
Song lyrics: We often forget that all products we own come from somewhere and are made by someone who is often underpaid or too young to work properly. Our current wellbeing and consumerism is only there cause of blood and sweat exploited people in poor countries
RUclips comments: "Lol long cable"
"OwO laugh at the funny man. I'm funny OWOWOWOWO"
Well, it eventually grows their society. It's a long painful process, but it moves mankind along....until it all crashes anyways.

Do you have an example?
You can look at India and China, and Texas oil towns. India/China were at one point making everything for very little. India's become the IT Software gurus. China has enjoyed a boom from the American consumer. The Chinese are buying up all sorts of land in the US. But when they start to make money, then the shops move to Korea, Vietnam. Cambodia. They are all enjoying the transition. You can look at Texas oil fields as an example, once the resources are gone, prosperity moves on.
@@BigstickNick It would grow their society even more if they wouldn't be exploited. Also humanity development shouldn't hinder a capability of individual to live fulfilling life
