Good Charlotte is a pop punk band from Waldorf, Maryland who, have played a vital role in the alternative rock, emo, punk rock community. Starting out in 1996, they found success with their debut self-titled album, with two of its singles - ‘Little Things’ and ‘Festival Song’ - both charting in the Top 10. Among their top songs includes, “The River,” "The Anthem” and "I Just Wanna Live". Additionally, the group have charted six songs in the US Hot 100, the most successful being 2002’s ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’, which went to No. 1 on the Alternative chart. M.Shadows voice is just insanely fantastic, and can add such depth to any song. Same with Synester Gates’guitar playing. It’s an absolutely recognizable and remarkable sound from both of them.

I remember back when Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous was just worn out on the radio being two or three times on the way to school and on the way back from school everyday for over a couple of months I'm pretty sure and that's being very lenient with the time! I never understood why this song didn't get no where near that much airtime it was way better, and it was cool of Matt and Synyster to help out by being in the song because they had already started getting quite a bit of recognition by that time along with the fact that they made that song what it was with their parts without taking all the shine away from GC which earns them more respect from me!

You can tell how skilled of musicians M. Shadows and Synyster Gates are because of how they didn't just show off the whole time. They could have easily stolen the show, but they adapted to the genre and the band and killed it with simplicity, especially on Syn's part. He could've just swept arpeggios that whole time, but he just gave a simple, melodic solo.
Yeah I realized that. I was expecting a typical a7x style solo from syn but he went with a more melodic approach
He made the solo simple because from what I can tell, Good Charlotte aren't really a technical band instrumentally.

People in the comments are hating towards Synyster Gates' solo at the end of the song, it is a pop-punk song. Good Charlotte is a pop-punk band and the pacing is way different from a normal Avenged Sevenfold song. He couldn't just rip open a face melter and it just fit in with the song. I thought the solo sounded fine with the song.

For anybody wondering: This song isn't about Christianity or religion at all. It's just using it as a metaphor. The song is about living in L.A. trying to make it big in the industry and how it's not always as great and glamorized as it looks but once you're in, it's tough to get out.
