    Can't believe you settled with crooked carpet after crafting this beautiful piece.

      I didn’t see it was crooked till later. However, I’m not happy with the carpet so I’m moving to some sort of rubber. Something that’s easier to keep clean.

    Are the supports you put underneath, 3 pieces of scrapwood all 3/4 inch high glued together? @EmbarkWithMark

      If I remember right, my base was 1/2” plywood. But yes it’s all scrap used from the same piece in the build.

      @EmbarkWithMark Thank you. I was basing it off the link you had to the plans. They used 3/4. Also, do you have the plans for the platform you made after to sleep on? This is my new goal for this weekend 😊 im washington based and hope to sleep in this soon during hunting season. @@EmbarkWithMark

    What're your thoughts on this after a couple years? Looking to do this for the exact same reasons as you!

      Love it. The 3rd row was a waste of room, weight for us. Doing this allowed me to install a drawer fridge, a large useful drawer, along with 200 amp hours of battery. The drawer and the fridge are used weekly. Even if you don't do that. The added space is insane!

      @@EmbarkWithMark this is super helpful!! Is the trunk still the same dimensions, just taller by like 6 inches?

      @@richardson_adventures That and, you can customize your tie down points, or mount things down easily by screwing into the wood. You also drop at least 150lbs of weight off the car. Which is nice.

    Hey there! I’ve seen that thread re: the 3rd row delete. Wondering how you got those precise measurements from the diagram of where to make the holes and everything !? Thanks!

    • @EmbarkWithMark
      @EmbarkWithMark  2 года назад

      So I took the measurement and converted them to fractions. Then took my time measuring each hole.
      I laid out every hole and cut all at once. Then made my cuts and double check my measurements for the holes.

    What size plywood did you use? 1/2” or 3/4? Also, what size did you use for the supports underneath? Looks like 3x 1/2” but hard to tell. Thanks

    • @EmbarkWithMark
      @EmbarkWithMark  Год назад

      I used 1/2” plywood but would recommend going 3/4.
      I can’t remember the measurements now for the supports but 3 1/2 sounds right. I just used the scrap plywood as you saw.

      @@EmbarkWithMark Thanks! I just pulled out my 3rd row today. Still waiting on the bolts. Your video on removing the seats helped alot! 👍

      @@EmbarkWithMark So I got my bolts and rivnuts today (I opted to go with M8 instead of the M6 the design called for). I laid out my holes, double and triple checked my measurements and sure enough 2 of the M6/M8 holes are off by a good 1/4-5/16!! Changing to the M8's shouldn't have caused this discrepancy since I'm only making the hole bigger. Oh well, now I improvise!

    • @EmbarkWithMark
      @EmbarkWithMark  Год назад

      @@ryanskeete I’ve done the same thing! It’s hard to get these holes exact.
      Also, the M8 was a smart move. I might pull mine out and switch to m8s all around.
      Did you choose 3/4” or 1/2” ply wood?

    Way over built.. if you go to the edge and put the plastic inserts back in and raise the lower ones up to level you can screw the platform right into the plastic inserts at the very end next to the door. And then you can do spaces as you care to. Although I don't plan on strapping heavy stuff down to mine. With 3/4 pilot is pretty strong with a spacer here and there not like you did way overbuilt... but bless you

      I personally don't think its way over built. However, I do plan on strapping down a heavier things.
