Thank you for watching along as I try out my first prebuilt gaming PC. It was a little different than doing a custom build, but was still interesting nonetheless. It had some ups and downs, but I think it was a decent value for what they charged. Hopefully you won't have as many issues, I'm not sure if the open-box savings would really be worth it to most people, though. It was maybe $100 cheaper and I had to reinstall windows, deal with ABS to get a product key, mess with reinstalling the cooler, etc.
Good to see you back Sean! Congrats on the move!
Hey Sean, just wanted to say... glad to see you back again. It's been a while mate and missed you posting vids. Ahhh sorry to hear about bad system config via New Egg but being the guy you are have worked around the weird system configs. and made it the setup you want. All the best mate.
I’d recommend a case migration. Great vid overall. Ty! I’ve been debating on one I saw in that case with 11700 3070 combo.
That’s the one I just purchased, hope it was worth 🤞
GAM-DIAS...gam...............dias.. Move the intake fans away from the glass. It's simple, unscrew them and reattach on the other side of the bracket.
Solid video! First time on your channel, and I appreciate you showing your problem solving techniques!
Thanks for the info. Was looking at a prebuilt myself but I think I've seen enough to stay away from ABS now.
No XMP enabled but "i start malware" installed. Come on....2021 that really is unforgivable..I was shocked to hear they returned that back so...
I had the opposite my pc came open box i7 9700 rtx 3060 and it runs like magic it’s just a game with those prebuilt
You give me hope lol
King Missile? Thanks for the review!
now i'm worried with what i ordered from newegg..
was it good?
@@66briaa NOPE. the moment i got it took out and inspected it. It didn't come with a power cord first of all. there was significant blemishing or rubbish on top near the vents, the power supply box and gpu was slightly tilted by 20-30 degrees, there was a piece of plastic bearing that fell at the bottom of the pc, didn't have the plastic on the glass either. so i couldn't even try it if i wanted because i didn't came with a power cord. packed it right back and filed a refund beware of open box maybe if theres a way to know more info about the specific open box thing
Found this on Facebook for $800 with a broken fan seems a bit too good to be true anything I Should look/ask for to verify it works properly. Thank You
So am I safe to get an abs or all they always like this
ABS i got have a water cooler in it its small. Thats a huge cooler damn. Also the ram and most of the parts arent the same for the 3080 ti one. I don't know what you received but oof no one got those issues in the new egg reviews bad luck
whats your thoughts on the new egg new beta build a system where they put it together? if i bought really high end parts is it worth it since I dont know much on building?
I just orders one. It was already on sale, plus open box, so I got one for 1,350. It has a i5-11400 instead of the 5600X but still a crazy deal.
That is a great deal, even if you end up having to tweak a thing or two.
@@TechWithSean agreed
@@realElzie how long was the shipping bro
This still work good? I seen a nice pre built on new egg I wanted and not trying to build one for the price of a whole pc just for a good graphics card is ridiculous
Thanks so much this vid was so informative;I just ordered mine from new egg and am going to get a refund before it ships!
Mine was open-box. If yours wasn’t, I think you may have a more straightforward experience, but the unit I got def had some issues.
@@TechWithSean mine was open box too 😂 it was the only available option. Also I couldn’t cancel the order since it’s being packaged so I’m preparing myself for the worst, tysm your video was mad informative 🙏🏿
@@Aboobayker update me on what happened
@@aitosigma5244 Returned it and purchased a Skytech Chronos 3070 3 3100 instead
I was about to buy this same pc....glad I saw your vid....hard pass. Can you recommend one better?
Great video but you look like general Sam’s dad xD
I have this exact same gaming pc but my rtx 3070 is an asus card. The performance is awesome but it can get a little hot sometimes in my case. I went ahead and installed 32 gigs of ram and clocked it to 3200 speed . What can I do to increase performance and make my pc a bit more cooler when running games at high settings? I love streaming on twitch but when playing my frames drop a lot at random times .
I ordered an open box pc from new egg and now ive been hearing bad things but i feel like ive seen enough to know how to fix the common problems.
1. Fresh install windows, apparently sometimes they suck at installing windows and it can fix some crashing problems and also get rid of bloatware and any other garbage programs on the pc
2.) for bad cpu temps, they usually use a bad cpu fan or don’t install one properly so either redo the paste, which to take it off use isopropyl alcohol, and apply new thermal paste or buy a new cooler like the coolermaster hyper 212 for $30-$40
3. Other temp issues, just from bad case design and lack of airflow, try getting fans in optimal locations and directions.having a means for the fans to pull in air, worst case either open up the sidepanel or buy a new case like the corsair 4000D airflow
Final: im no proffessional but it’s been kind of fun researching these preventative measures, hope this helps!
What does open box stand for because I want to buy a gaming laptop and am not sure thank you
It means it was probably returned because the original buyer changed their mind or didn’t like it for whatever reason.
I just got an open box system, it seems to be running fine, kinda some low fps on some games and perfect fps on others, is there anyway to test and benchmark to make sure it's running fine?
Which games are low, and what GPU/resolution? Some titles will push the CPU more and others are all about the graphics card.
@@TechWithSean oh I actually have a ryzen 7 3700x with a triple fan msi 3070 (forgot exact name) but I seem to only be pushing mid to high 200s maybe 300s on valorant where I should atleast be getting 500+ fps
I've also optimized by turning on XMP, fully optimizing windows, and optimizing my nvidia control panel as well as installing drivers
@@TechWithSean 1920x1080 on val and like 130 fps with 1920x1080 on rust, all low settings
@@calloused8758 I found a deal for an open box prebuilt 3070 with an i5 10th but I'm too scared to buy it lol
hey great video my man
i want to buy a open box mobo from gigabit official store what do you think ?
If the price is good enough of a discount to warrant buying open-box vs new, and they have some sort of return policy in case it has problems, I say go for it.
I was thinking between a Asus ROG gaming PC and a ABS gladiator gaming PC its 2199$ idk what to dooo they both for some people they come with issues somebody recommend me a good first starter gaming PC with a rtx 3070 and good power to run strong games
I would definitely get the ABS system instead of the ROG. I don’t believe those ROG cases don’t have very good airflow.
You gotta give them a big fat 1 star - giving you malware and no windows key? Unacceptable. That's real bad.
Hi, I'm going to buy a pc like this but I don't know whether to risk an open box or buy a new one but more expensive, what do you recommend?
They have about a 30 day window for returns 🤙
Man that would have been a sh*t system for person who doesn’t know much about computers.
This is why I’ll never buy open box from Newegg, way too much of a hassle.
It’s really a gamble. You could get a perfect one where someone had just changed their mind about buying and returned it, or something like mine that was returned because it had problems.
