Isaac it'll be fine I am guessing you just got thrown off because you were on the other side of the engine and accidentally tightened. Hopefully no chinese threads were damaged and no helicoils were purchased 😅
Did you ever get that put on? I would love to see your build. I am building a Cushman package kar. Well restoring anyway. it had an M9 but only had 30lbs compression. So I went to find out how much rebuild was and said screw that!
I just swapped a stock 212 on my craftsman snowblower and it makes more power then the old 9.5 horse briggs and is much quieter also. Now i see why you guys love these engines

Thank you for the excellent videos.
LEAN, that's what flames from the exhaust mean. The idle circuit on your carb is too lean, which is why it is viciously backfiring when you close the throttle after revving it. I can almost never make it through one of you guys' videos because you just through more crap at engines and say it make more power, "this is a stage 4 kit so its +14 hp above stock...." Tuning and good design will always make more power, but you guys don't take the time to learn to do that..... Some of your stuff is interesting, but no matter how much youtube wants me to, I don't enjoy your videos.

I just got my 150 carter talon go kart converted to 420cc last night. It took about 2 weeks because I had to wait on shipping and I had to modify the frame for clearance but I was able to use the original axle by using a long jackshaft on pillow blocks and the chain actually runs underneath the engine rather than next to it
So how big is the stock jet? And how much bigger did you go? Main jet, pilot jet, needle jet are things you boys could talk about, I liked your history lesson last episode so a little chit chat about jets wouldn't go astray
As the balancer is driven from the crank it will take power from the engine, and as they are trying to get every ounce of power out of the engine they want as little losses as they can get
A trick I have used for compressing springs... zip ties. Keep the pressure evenly spaced out by using 3-4 ties and tighten them each a little at a time. Your mileage may vary epending on the weight rating/stiffness of the spring.
Ya got to remember old school ! Lock the crank , add compressed air to the plug hole and use a lever type spring tool .No seal , add oil . The air pressure holds the valves closed and in place while spring are removed an replaced . Ike's boss must know this one ! Good videos Guys .
On your Coil-Gap....... Theres no need in doubling the space because you are spinning higher RPM- the flywheel isn't going to swell or grow like a rear tire does - the wider the gap, the weaker the spark and slightly retarded on timing because the magnets are farther than spec

1) there is something called a *_generator_* that will provide power for the brake, tail, headlights, and turn signals. 2) You think they're going to daily it? It'll just be something fun to drive occasionally. 3) The backfire will most likely attract attention versus the noise. Can probably be reduced/eliminated with a performance muffler from GPS.
Make a ricer golf cart! I think it would be funny to see a slammed purple golf cart with cambered wheels and I’ve always wondered if you could use a 1 inch universal joint as a CV joint for rear wheels that way you can get negative camber. Love the vids, can’t wait to see the finished golf cart!
You did not need to remove head for valve spring install , hose clamp or zip ties would have held that spring compressor on. Looking forward to golf cart build have a great day. Keith
if you're really in a pinch for valve springs, i've had to use zip ties to compress the springs and my fingers to push down to seat them. ahh never again
I see a lot of big boxes over by the truck 😉 Cant wait to see the truck progress hopefully soon. Wish I had some garage space and some extra cash to buy a go kart to tinker with. Would love to build an engine as well. Someday...
hey guys if you need an idea for a next serious project. just contact me. not sure if you read my comment. so i'm not gonna describe it here. i really want to build it by my self. but i can't affoard it. so i dicided not to keep it secret anymore.
Drill a hole through the side of the head on the Allen head bolts holding your exhaust header on and run a wire through both bolts and twist the wire together. That will prevent your exhaust bolts from vibrating loose 👍
You can add air, you can add fuel, you can get exhaust flow, you can out a big cam in it, BUT without compression all you got is sound and few extra horses but you need to calculate compression ratio, dome piston, or small chamber head to take advantage of the other stuff. You have just changed parts that isn't building a engine BUT! I know y'all don't have much time on your hands but still cool videos
The next project is the Golf cart that was sitting outside the shop when they went out to test fire the engine. But my question is this, why remove the charging system and starter when there is a possibility of driving it on the road at night? Gotta have the battery up to keep keep those lights going.
Ike..... You KNOW that is NOT torqued to spec!!! Those are over tight a million percent!!! That torque ratchet never once moved the 4 of those head bolts when you did the final torque!!! Which means they was already tightened OVER the spec!!!
Why didn’t y’all do a carb upgrade That alone would be a huge difference in the performance. I have a Honda XR 200 carb on my 91 EZGO and it’s 20 over and mildly ported and polished and I couldn’t tell no difference in it till I swapped out the carb and it was amazing at the difference. Now that you have ran it with the stock carb do the carb up grade and check out the difference. Changing the jet in that lawn mower carb ain’t gonna help much
Have you cats built a Honda Gx340. 1Hp stock ? I can’t tell if the crank on mine is 7/8 th. Or 3/4. Do you cats know and where can a guy get a clutch for such a beast it’s going in my Doodle bug drag race bike It will bee. Mine, ha ha ha
I keep thinking "you wouldn't need as strong or double valve springs etc if it just had a 4 valve head and it'd flow way better...but then it'd be like a motocross 450cc. I guess tuning a lawnmower engine is like polishing the proverbial". Forgive me but that is how I see it. I also find building the motors to be more fun than driving with them maybe that's just me. This would be great on a stretched minibike. As if IKE needs to be given any more incentive to buy another bike. Love you guys.
I bet the gm v6 push rod tool would work slick.... Lisle makes them. They are for the front drive v6 gm engine. I'm thinking it's wide enough to grab the spring keepers and allow you to grab the locks but you'd have to use your bleed down tester to keep the valve closed....no need to take the head off.....or hmmmm🤔 Ike could always build a tool, you have a welder and a torch and a shop and metal.....come on Ike your a actual mechanic, I build my own special tools all the time.
Longer videos please. Also in these types of installation videos, if you are going to go "instructional" do it properly. "torqued to spec"... State the spec then! RBG does a really good job on that front. You guys could easily do the same. I agree with others this engine doesn't seem to be the right fit for the golf cart, especially without the electrics.. But I'm sure... It'll be fine
tappin holes would of been a 2015 joke if this video would of been uploaded in a better time of youtube where mild vulgar was basically "kid friendly" if they couldn't understand it XD anyways good vid guys, Ike glad to see you have a helping hand instead of a camera man apprentice
Hold on you guys, your putting that beast of an engine on a golfcart with just shitty rear drum brakes! Can I take out life insurance in you guys? I stay in North Myrtle Beach first week in April and there are modified golf carts all over. Disc brakes, big engines, lift kits, wind screens are the norm.
GOOD LORD. No wonder that engine uses a balance shaft! I know you guys are trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of that engine, but I would at least consider putting the balance shaft back in; that thing is either going to vibrate itself apart or crack something if you're not careful.
Is that the hemi motor? Is that one visual reference the smooth top head cover? The HF one on display was like that. The one in box they brought me had a big nut or bolt thru top middle of head cvr. Different air filter too. Both had same 60340 mdl nos. Of course the ppl there had no idea what i was talking about?? What are visual outer differences in hemi???
Hey guys I’m not sure if it works with the newer engines but back in the day when I used 5HP Briggs engines for cart racing we ran then on alcohol we bored them out pit big valves in changed cams. Run a 3 1/2 HP flywheel. Tiltson carbs with fuel pumps. But what I was getting at is some cams preform better if you retard the cam on notch and some run better if you advance it one notch but first set the cam up in stock orientation get extended push rods filled to the valve lash then experiment with retarding and advancing the cam but do not retard or advance the coil or timing of the coil. Leave mounted in stock form. Or use a drop down bracket if running a smaller flywheel and then it should only drop in a straight line no advance or retard is needed. Oh we also use to run stroker cranks to. Different lengths on the piston rods. Man I sure do miss those days. Lots of fun times it was.
10W30 is probably not the right oil, guys. :) On air cooled engines the oil gets extremely hot and therefore thin. So a 10W50 or 60 would be the better choice...
Ok guys...next time...before you remove the head, get a hose from a compression tester...run it into the plug hole and apply compressed air...Then with the aid of an "F" connector wrench ( www.parts-express.com/Data/Default/Images/Catalog/Original/360-089_HR_0.jpg ) depress the spring and use a stick magnet to take the keepers out. Then reverse the process for the new springs and keepers. :)
Since when did this operation become a high end production? A torque wrench? You guys have changed! 👍
That is probably the first time I have seen them use a torque wrench!
It'll Be fine

Hey guys I've got a predator 212cc with 18pound valve springs if I put a m Mikuni carb on it will it blow up the standard fly wheel?
