I appreciate what you and your stepdad did. Glad to see Kentuckians coming together thru tragedy. But we're known for our hospitality here in Kentucky. I'll never leave Garrard co, they'll Bury my Grave Here.
God bless all who are helping my Dawson Springs friends and family. It's just unbelievable to see my hometown literally blown away. I attended Dawson Springs through the 8th grade and graduated from West Hopkins High School in 1989. I've lived in Florida and now reside in Missouri. My roots are in Kentucky and it will always be home no matter where I live. ❤️
It's heartwarming to see Americans coming together to help one another out. It's just unfortunate it often takes a tragedy. I cannot imagine losing everything I worked for my entire life being taken away in a matter of seconds - especially right before Christmas. The resolve and compassion of the people there is absolutely remarkable. You documenting everything you did is much more impactful than a 60 second news clip. Love & prayers to all.
Thank you so much for posting this video! As a part time resident of Dawson Springs, I have stayed away until rescue efforts are complete. I have searched countless hours for an update on the northwestern end of town where you drove through in the latter part. Your video was more informative and detailed than the news reports. God bless you for your generosity.
I am so sorry for what’s happened to your community. It’s absolutely devastating. Seeing this firsthand will affect me the rest of my life, so I can only imagine what the residents of Dawson will experience.
My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by this. I live in Athens TN. and it could have easily been us. I went through Hurricane Andrew in Homestead Florida back in '92 and it was horrible. I just recently suffered a snapped patellar tendon in my left leg and I have a small mountain of hospital bills or else I would surely donate. Keep up the good work Brad.
As a hurricane Ida survivor who is still rebuilding my house after it flooded, my heart and prayers go out to those who lost loved ones and property from the tornadoes. It will get better but it takes time to heal.
Absolutely devastation beyond almost anything. Really, the finger of God. Offering 1 prayer to add with the innumerable prayers that have already been sent. Stay strong Brad. Yall doing good works volunteering and the Lord will bless you for it.Please Lord look after all these poor people who lost loved ones, and all their property and belongings. Look out for the children, and the seniors as they are struggling to. Lord, please look after the livestock, and the pets that got displaced that they all find their way back home. And, most of all Lord let everyone whose still missing, Lord, let them be found and give some comfort to their families, and the strength that only you can provide so they can deal with this devastating time in their life. In Jesus's name I pray, amen.
@@matthijshebly sorry Greta Thornberg, this is most definitely Not "climate change!" What caused this was a warm front clashing into a cold front causing severe thunderstorms and tornados. A common phenomenon that is quite common. It normally occurs further south and is very common in the southeast United States at various times throughout the year. It just so happens that the warm front went further north this time, and it was a huge warm front so it caused a large number of tornadoes, and 1 record size tornado. I'm a resident to dawson springs and I just wanna point out that the school he's in in this video is actually the high school and middle school. There's actually two school buildings and the other one is the elementary next door 😅 the middle school is at the back side of the stairs the the high school is in front of the stairs lol. Where the boys clothes are is the art room 😍. The previous art teacher recently retired and so there's a new art teacher in there tho I've never met him before. It's so good that you're here to help out my hometown. We honestly need every help we can get. So thank you so much for uploading this video and taking the time to help us out.
Having major flashbacks to this time four years ago when the Thomas Fire raged thru town. Neighborhoods completely burned down. Some neighborhoods where most houses were gone while other were randomly spared and practically untouched. 😟😔🙏🏻✝️

The caring and help you give each other in the US in the midst of adversity is an example to the world and I'm glad that person was just messing with you with regards to wearing seat belts. Forget the federal government, they don't care about you but the local people care dearly and it shows. You, and your step dad, Brad, are real nice people.
Very good of you guys to try and help. Situations like that, people don't really know what to do, though. Tornadoes do some crazy stuff. Destroy an entire block of buildings, but leave one in the middle of the block alone. I remember a cow walking around, with a fence post driven through its side. Steel signs looking like they were hit by shotguns, but from rocks being thrown through them. The roof of one house, picked up and set on top of another house. Mother Nature is not one to mess with! Good luck, brother, those people need help!
Thank you not sure where your from but although me and my family lost are 2 month old angel 👼 Oaklynn koon this Disaster somewhat restored my faith in humanity there was such an outpouring of help and support to our community it doesn’t take away the pain of losing our daughter but it did help tremendously so thank you for all that you did
This has to be the worst storm I wish I couldnt remember. My heart goes out to all affected. I only hope that when we rebuild that each and every home or trailer has a hardened shelter.
I was in 2 Tornadoes on the same date April 26th 1983 F-3 DIRECT HIT. then 26th F1 almost direct hit by 100 yards sucked a girl out of a mobile home THIS STUFF IS NO JOKE!! I saw Tornadoes in the air on Nov 10th 2021 in Bartlesville oklahoma 5 spin ups and I witnessed one on the ground hitting coffeyville Kansas in 2014. This weather AIN'T NORMAL. My condolences to everyone that died. Try 25 mobile homes 6ft apart 2 are matchsticks and the one next to it not a scratch. A farm house southend GONE north end same structure still standing not a scratch. It's a miracle the girl sucked out survived. This is my Tornadoes personal experience.
I feel bad for all those who live in the hollers, of course everywhere else too. Up here in Ohio we had a lot of damage from the wind, people lost their homes from trees smashing them literally in half.
Thank you for posting!! My house is the old farmhouse with the tin roof on Racetrack Road down from the Star of Bethlehem Church! The rear of the house is off. The storm brought her to her knees, yet she stands! All occupants are safe & accounted for. Thanks be to God!!
So glad your family made it! It could have been so much worse. I know it’s hard to count blessings at a time like this, but anyone who lived through that, you’re blessed. I hope you get the old farmhouse fixed back up. She’s got a story to tell now for sure.

Bless. The Antique Nomad, George, has been posting info out of Dawson Springs. He is based out of there and posted from his house but family were hit much harder. He has a fair few followers as well. Maybe send him a message?
Oh wow, just realized that the area you’re traveling through (Dawson Springs) is about a hour north of Clarksville, TN/Ft. Campbell, KY. I was stationed there for about 5 years (1995-2000). I can’t but help to wonder how bad effected “my old stomping grounds” were hit by this storm!!
Bro thank you for this video and for volunteering. Dawson Springs is my hometown. I danced my first (and only) time to K-ci & JoJo in that room you ate barbecue in. Went to that high school and had so many fights there lol. I've long since moved away as almost all of us who grew up there in the 90's have but still go back a couple times a year to with my wife and son to visit my Grandparent's gravesite. Hell, I just got remarried there at Tradewater park in April this year and ran into my old middle school principal (Mr. Dillingham I hope you and your family are safe!). Yours is the only video out there I've seen so far that shows Dawson still standing and being strong together with the help of its surrounding communities, everything else is just destructuon. Thank you so much for showing me and my wife that so much of the place we grew up in is still standing. Hoping to make it down there some time this week. Don't know what they'll want me to do to help, don't care. I've got a pair of steeltoes and if someone will loan me some good gloves when I get there I'm ready. We love you, Dawson! Stay strong!
We tried to deliver stuff there today and they said they were full so we delivered all of are stuff to a Baptist Church just right outside of Dawson Springs
reminds me of September when hurricane Ida tore us up. No power for 2 weeks, we couldn't get gas, or groceries hardly for weeks. natural disasters suck.
Reminds me of Joplin,MO in 2011. I was driving to NM from OH and passed right by Joplin at the same time the tornado hit. Luckily, I had enough sense to pull into a motel when I saw a barn roof flying across the interstate! Everyone at the motel was outside drinking beer outside and taking in the storm. We were just far enough away to be safe apparently. The town was GONE the next day. Looked like Hiroshima.
I got some furniture that I need to get rid of. I just have no way to get it to anybody. Those places are at least 100 miles from where I live. I'll hang on to it. Maybe I can get it to somebody in need somehow.
Right behind the tank is where I was doing search and rescue the tank is actually where the Lions Club if you look at my profile picture on here that is me removing the flag out of the Lions Club she never touched the ground and she got returned
Old type school like I went to in Elementary/Junior High. No A/C just big window they could open up when it got hot. We were lucky to miss any bad weather in SC, went north of us. URL to donate cash?
Shame on America stealing from people that have such tragically horrible devastation. Karma will get those people….For all the good people that are helping they will be blessed.
Things you can do, Volunteer with Red Cross for the day, for the Weekend, for the Event, it could be taking personal information and details to assist in finding Aid and Grants to arranging for Shelter, Food and more. Food Kitchens need people to do everything from Cook , Serve or wash the dishes, Clean up crews can always use a spare set of hands , Churches, Lions, Elks, Veterans and Military organizations always Show Up and can always use a hand and/or donation. Mostly we would tell those with in kind donations it best to Distribute those through those churches because a National Organization has too high a Logistical cost in Inventorying , & distributing those Goods then they actually cost and a Monetary donation would have been better option, But if like most and Bank account has bandages on it, Your Time is PRICELESS , and those clothes, coats and In Kind Donations are better given to Local churches who can identify and address where best to send, share those uplifting gifts of kindness

Thank you for the info! Much appreciated.
Bless you and yours
Kick ass. They’ll be able to use your help. Sign up at the command post.
Thanks for sharing, But it does bring back bad memories of Fredrick 79 & Katrina 05.
We tried to deliver stuff there today and they said they were full so we delivered all of are stuff to a Baptist Church just right outside of Dawson Springs
Yeah I saw this on the news a couple days ago it's really bad devastation.
i been thinkin of you when the news broke, glad your ok. thanks for checkin in with the viewers ,your in our prayers, safe travels my friend.
reminds me of September when hurricane Ida tore us up.
The real tragedy is that the evening foreman did not allow the employees leave at the candle factory without threats of firing
Different town. That factory was in Mayfield.
great footage my man
Right behind the tank is where I was doing search and rescue the tank is actually where the Lions Club if you look at my profile picture on here that is me removing the flag out of the Lions Club she never touched the ground and she got returned
Old type school like I went to in Elementary/Junior High. No A/C just big window they could open up when it got hot. We were lucky to miss any bad weather in SC, went north of us. URL to donate cash?
nm I found it. 20 sent, wish it could be more. Be well.
I'm watching the cbs news coverage right now
Shame on America stealing from people that have such tragically horrible devastation. Karma will get those people….For all the good people that are helping they will be blessed.
📣Come an got it! 💖
High 5 to you and your Dad
Amazing how so many people are massless.
