I don't think 99.9% of the times I cried as a baby was because of physical pain. Probably a lot of it was just me being scared, which is emotional pain. And when I had to leave a fun place to go home. Comparatively few times did I cry because of pain... I even cracked a bone in my toe and didn't cry until I was left alone and got scared. And I'm a boy. Girls hurt themselves physically MUCH less seldom.
Here's a shower thought I had night before last about dreaming and lucid dreaming: We all have trouble remembering our dreams each night. But sometimes they're so vivid and memorable that they stick with us long after waking. We only remember a small percentage of the total number of dreams we have. We're just a passenger during regular dreaming, unable to affect any change. We also have the capacity to become lucid while dreaming -- becoming aware that we are dreaming while still inside the dream state, and are therefor able to affect the dreams to become and do what we wish. Lucid dreams are usually easily remembered. They are also quite rare, normally occurring in no more than 2% of dreams (unless you're super lucky!). Both our dream-selves and waking-selves are products of our consciousness, and consciousness itself is a grand scientific mystery. We don't know where it comes from or what it is. What if our waking-selves remembering only occasional dreams (anonymous interludes with our dream-selves) is the same as our dream-selves only occasionally remembering our waking-selves while being lucid (distinctive, recognized adjoining of both waking-self and dream-self)? In other words, what if a lucid dream is our dream-self remembering our waking-self in the same way our waking-selves remember regular dreams? Simply put, one state of our consciousness (and/or, perhaps, subconsciousness) remembering the other exists and is part of the whole. The lucid dream-self remembering that it has an onboard counterpart that doesn't truly belong or reside in its world would then seemingly allow the awake-self to influence the dream state to fit its whims. Whatever process(es) that create consciousness while awake and while dreaming are basically the same at a neurological level. Even using an EEG (measuring brainwaves) doctors can't tell when we're dreaming and when we're not. The only clue is rapid eye movement (REM sleep). Our waking-selves are always aware that our dream-selves exist. Is the lucid dream-self always aware of the waking-self in the same way? Or is the lucid dream-self just a visitation to the dream realm by our waking-self? I hope this makes sense. It was much harder to explain the epiphany that hit me in span of just 2-3 seconds than I thought it would be.
@@SingulariTae7 I _think_ I've remembered every lucid dream I've ever had -- but how would I know otherwise, right? heh Glad to hear it made sense, though. I had to edit and rewrite it for about 20 minutes.

37:22.
