- This video is about How To Restore Pavers
I put together this video to showcase some of the information in our paver restoration process.
From prep work to stripping two previous contractors work, to cleaning the pavers and then sanding / sealing.
The client was more than thrilled about the finished product.
Im learning so much from watching how you Americans do Jet washing and sealing.
I live in the UK. You have better set ups when it come to equipment and chemicals. 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
I'm glad to hear man, I wish it was easier for you guys to have access to surplus equipment. I know how difficult it is :(
Great video
Thank you! Give us a call if you have any further questions!
Thanks for this! Because of this video it made my decision easy to replace my asphalt driveway with asphalt. Only $60 a year to sealcoat that sh1t.
Yes, pavers do need regular maintenance! They're highly pushed as a "luxury" but require upkeep. This is a worst case scenario shown in the video! Not all paver projects are like this.
My pavers were installed after I bought this house and sealed 3 different times. 1 after they were installed and then a few months after because it looked like crap and then again a few months after that because the sand washed out. Well it has all failed again and I am handy and could probably do it better myself. I have a couple questions. What kind of sand should I get in tampa fl and after I do the sand should I rent a compactor machine to run over it. Also if I use the wet sand method how long do the pavers need to dry. Pavers are mostly in screened in area around salt water pool. And pavers are concrete. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated
Do you have a certain type of sand preference? I’ve heard silica sand can be rinsed in to joints well.
We use SEK joint sand. It’s ASTM C-144 specd. This means it’s cut at certain angles to interlock when pushed into joints. Providing for a stronger bond.
Comes in a bunch of different colors.
Check out tridentprotects.com for more
You apply the sand when the pavers are wet? I’ve never seen that before. All other instructions say they must be 100% dry.
They must be 100% dry before sealing!
Specifically what tips did you use in your surface cleaner?
So in this video the yellow one is 1503 tips
Mini mondo is 25 or 40 03 tips.
Yellow one does a lot of digging at the joints.
Mini mondo targets paver surface.
Turbo gets the remainder of sand from joints
whats the name of the sealer you are using in this video? I normally use sek sb1300, sb8700, and sb7700.
Good question, so they rebranded into trident. The equivalent would be 6700 I believe. 1 5 gallon part a and 2 1 gallon part b
Comes in a kit. Which we now call Hurricane CAT 5
Trying to resand my pavers. I have these same color pavers. What sand do you recommend that i could find at A big box retailer or online, any color if any? Thanks
So this job we used platinum from trident or sek surebond. Joint sand is what we use, but that’s also because we’re sealing afterwards.
Depending on your climate and soil conditions, you may be suitable for polymeric which you could use the same color but no need for sealing
What’s the strip material you use I’ve used the cobble strip from surface logic and haven’t had good luck with it still white haze marks after the cleaning.
Trident tidal wave gel!!!
You may be experiencing a solvent based sealer, which is going to be brutal to remove
São muito caprichoso tanto na hora de esfregar e na hora de enxaguar
The purpose of the movements is to ensure that every possible angle has been cleaned!
hey guys nice job, how much do you charge for this job kind of job? i mean in average, id been looking for a wide range of prices, from 1$ per sqf to 7$ per sqf....thanks
We’re in Florida, we charge anywhere from $1.50-$3.25
Depending on multiple variables, site conditions, logistics, etc. in some cases that price may go up significantly
What's the chemical you use for oil stains? We have pavers that got horrible oil stains on it that won't come out and wondering what you use? Thanks.
We typically use gold assassin, and hot water.
If you have a propane torch you can slightly heat the pavers up after cleaning and that will help burn off the remainder.
You can also scrub dawn dish soap platinum into the pavers with some water and multiple times and leave that sit.
Very nice
What brand of sealer do you use?
Tridents 🔱 Hurricane 🌀 cat 5
whats the stripper you use and where can i get it?
Tidal Wave Gel is what we use from trident products. You'll have to do some research and see if you can get it where you are. They only sell to contractors though.
Is your service based in South FL? Thanks
So, we're actually located near Jacksonville, FL. We do offer training for paver sealing services!
Do you do pro bono work? I have a 23x11 for you 😂😂
Good Stuff Thanks for sharing.
How long would your sealer last in San Diego?
So trident says 3-5 years. I tell all of our customers plan for 3 years. That is the maximum lifespan of the color enhancement and gloss. I would say year two joints start to soften up a little bit and then color starts to blend / lighten slightly. We haven’t seen this sealer “fail” yet which is a good thing for the installer and client.
How much does it cost for 560 sq ft - wet look pavers
Depends on multiple variables in order to achieve an accurate price. In our region we see from $1.50 to $1.85 for most “new install” not previously sealed pavers.
Any job that has been previously sealed requires in person testing, examination and other necessary information before deciding if it’s something we want to take on and then at that point we can provide pricing. Typically those start at the higher $2.75 per square foot and go up from there. In some situations the pavers will have to be replaced. *highly uncommon*
What is your water reclaim system? That is a lot of chemical water reclaim. I'm looking into getting into surface washing, and am trying to figure out what reclaim system people use to get an idea of what to go with. Don't want to get a $10k fine or 5yrs federal prison for letting contaminated water into the drains.

You can't sweep wet kiln dried sand
I don’t understand what you’re saying or asking.
@@properexterior hydo compaction. Funny guy
@@losttheplot26 I literally had no idea what your sentence said. We hydro compact sand and move it with a broom……
@@properexterior how do you sweep wet sand. It's like an egg timer. Needs to be dry
@@losttheplot26 look me up on Facebook proper exterior cleaning or Austin Pratt
I’m sure there’s videos of us doing it posted. We do it on every single job, you can also see it in the video when sun starts to go down
Hydroseal
Lol. Uh cheapskate nothing beats a plate compactor. Weak.
Chemical runoff reclamation ??? The EPA watches RUclips...
We use filter socks in the curbs near the property line where water is grading too. Thought this was common sense and we didn't need to go over it. We don't put it right in front of the driveway, that way it doesn't get clogged with the sand, debris and other stuff that comes out from the stones.
@@properexterior I think that including the reclamation in your video would help to add value in your customer's eyes and put you ahead of the competition.
What are brand stripper are you using?
