    Great video! I have light grey marble pavers called Tahoe, with the sandblasted finish. I accidentally spilled a half gallon of muriatic acid on my pool deck/coping. Now that area is much darker and "marble" looking. Do you think it'll be a good idea to wash out the rest of the deck a few times with a hard diluted acid wash (70/30) to try and even out the look of the floor?

    • @EarthWorksJax

      Via Tim "It most definitely can, especially if there's travertine around the pool. My recommendation would be to go with a semi-gloss, not a high gloss around any area that's going to have moisture most of the time.

    • @MarcM143
      @MarcM143 3 года назад

      Only a water-based breathable sealer in concrete pavers. If they were recently manufactured concrete pavers they still have moisture inside of them that would get locked in with a "film forming" sealer like an oil based. If the moisture gets locked in, the pavers will turn white.
      If they are a natural stone you just need to make sure they are bone dry, and not installed over a concrete slab. If there is slab under the pavers preventing Drainage under the stone or concrete pavers you must use a breathable sealer so that moisture also does not get trapped and turn into efflourecence.

    • @EarthWorksJax
      @EarthWorksJax  5 лет назад +1

      We prefer water-based semi-gloss. When using a water-based sealant you can go over it with a chemical or oil-based sealant but not the other way around.

    • @EarthWorksJax
      @EarthWorksJax  5 лет назад +3

      Also when using oil-based you have to have dry weather for at least 48 hours before and 48 hours after the application. Whereas the water base you can usually do right after pressure washing.

    Must not be a northern climate sealer. I need to know how to seal blocks to prevent water from freezing between and breaking things up, and what product to use for sealing from water. Thanks.

    • @EarthWorksJax
      @EarthWorksJax  4 года назад

      From Tim the guy in the video. "I actually lived up north and the only way to seal water from coming into block wall for such as a basement for whatever storm cellar fruit seller, whatever it may be would have to expose all the wall block on the outside and seal it usually with a tar-like substance. I lived in Michigan just south of Detroit for 12 years and I went through that and that's what we had to do and never had an issue after that. Royal pain but it's well worth it because you never have to worry about it again if done properly. As far as sealing from water it all depends are you sealing a pipe or are you sealing a roof or pavers?"
