Really interesting breakdown and interpretation of that movement. I’ve been training and teaching Wing Chun for over 15 years and I still learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.🙏
That's great...I always tell my guys to pressure the frame/center vs the appendage...Much less dynamic but keeps me safe...Just my opinion. Very cool dynamic stuff.
As the legend and video suggests, wing chun is coming from the white crane style. To be more precise, Wu Mei created the white crane style and taught the founder of wing chun. Again according to the legend Wu Mei had connections with Wudang, therefore her kung fu was highly influenced by internal martial arts concepts and hence there would be nothing surprising that wing chun looks a lot like taiji when you are just looking at the principles and not techniques. For example for the elbow and crane stance at 4:45, that's just the principle of "always sinking the elbow" in internal martial arts (and external too btw)
Adam should really explain how to sink the energy into the legs. He gives teasers here and there for internal power, just like in this video. I think alot of people won't comprehend going into the ribs, going into the legs.
Well. You are supposed to keep moving into the opponent after contact, the ellbows are the result of continuing to close the distance. Keeping the fight in punching distance is not what Wing Chun principles tell us, at all!!! Our best and most powerfull weapons are in the clinch, (if wr are not allowed to target the throat and the other most sensitive parts). Some WC teachers preach "wc is a punching system"..only if you limit yourself and the system.
Thanks Adam, I think you have shot nice points in thi video. Always interesting the references to crane and snake. One question could be what happens if the block is in the center of the forearm. Could you choose either the head either the tail? (referring to the motto, when the head is blocked the tail attacks, and the other way around). Thanks in advance for your reply.

The problem with wing chun and a lot of kung fu styles is the thing about blocking. It leaves you open esp. against feints. Better to avoid or step to a better position.
Two reasons. These are training videos that talk about body mechanics, and second, the only people interested in seeing people spar are people that either don't have the experience or inclination to learn anything about fighting.
@@danielskipp1 All I want to see him do is apply his methods in an actual sparring match because a lot of it looks so impeachment. I find it interesting that whenever people ask for sparring videos a lot of you get really defensive because deep down you don't even believe that it works
@@J3Cho Why would I video myself doing Wing Chun when I don't think it's a practical defensive martial art? Lol. The burden isn't on me to prove that it works
This guy is truly official family in his craft

Golden as always 👊
What fist are you using there Adam, those attacks are not typical wing chung fists. What style are you mixing with wing chung?
Good stuff as always
Reminds me of us doing push hands in Chen Tai.

Terrific techniques, but it's soooooooooooooo hard to learn them because you demonstrate them soooooooooo fast.

Sorry but no patty cake in street fights, as it always transition to grabbing wrestling jujitsu after close range.
Why no sparring videos? all I see is demonstrations.
Because he's teaching in a video. Free sparring is not a very time efficient way of teaching specific ideas.
You wanna see sparring videos, go video yourself doing it. Stop demanding others to do something for you,
