Twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation, a married couple buckles under pressure when an actress arrives to do research for a film about their past.
This movie is about process acting and the weird obsession that comes with it. Many would be disappointed at the fact that there are no straight answers to any of the characters. In the end, this movie shows us how complicit the audience is to criminal acts just to watch good stories with complicated people.
It's based on Mary Kay Letourneau a crazy lady that had a relationship with and groomed her 13 year old student. She went to jail in 1990 something and they got back together when she was out, then got married. But, you can just tell by the actors voice and mannerisms, she probs studied her.
This movie is an extension.of a previous Ricky Gervais live advice session where he informs the viewers that Natalie Portman has learned the valuable lesson of NEVER putting family before work.Ricky is 100% correct.
Very well made but, for me, very disappointing! It felt like a total let-down at the end...like they _ended_ the movie _half-way through!_ ...with no resolution! Perhaps if i'd _known_ that it was just the actors process, before the movie, i wouldn't have been so annoyed that we don't get to see _the outcome_ of the movie and which direction they chose to take it and how everyone reacted to it but as it is... DAMN IT!! 🤬
@@shaumikp1 yeah I realized later that’s adapted. Oh well. It hopefully wins that but many other good contestants. Maybe Past Lives can get an original screenplay win?
@@mabusestestament that’s a fun idea but I don’t see the academy awarding a Godzilla movie, no matter how deserving it is, for much besides SFX. And though they acknowledge foreign films often, SFX/Sound Design is most likely going to an American-made film.

Wow so if the victim is a man its called an affair not statutory r@pe
Thank you! My thoughts exactly
That's precisely the point of the movie 😅
Best original screenplay? It’s down to this, Barbie, and Anatomy of a Fall.
bro tried to sneak in barbie 💀
Anatomy of a Fall clears. whether or not it wins is up in the air but it's the best original screenplay this year easy.

Godzilla Minus One for adapted.

Any given day.
Wow. Where did Moore get that voice?
tbh i’m not moved
Girl bye
go watch a Marvel movie
She looks fifty years old, not 36.
The character was referring to the moment the relationship began, which occurred in 1992.
Then that's just as it should be, since she was 36 twenty years before.
was not a good movie. weak and once it got good they ended the movie!1 or is it just me?
