Saying this as an entertained viewer myself, what a great review by Brian and Michel! /Thomas
I agree, the team is getting bigger and you have found some great presenters :-)
Autogefühl, yeah! The poor camera crew are never mentioned
Autogefühl Brian is great and amusing to listen to👍 I have only one suggestion when filming 3rd row of seats, he should of left the second row folded and move to the right seat so camerman can get in and film leg space, cup holders and everything else he is talking about (if you understand what I want to say)
Autogefühl
Hi to Thomas and all at Autogefühl. I am a big fan from the UK and was ecstatically surprised and delighted to see Brian Hayes on here. I hope there's more to come from Brian and you all. No one does it better than Autogefühl!
I have seen many reviewers do this. Testing the sports mode when already at 40-50+ mph. As an owner of this vehicle, the difference is felt when you compare from a stop. If you are starting from a stop and need major juice, you can feel a marked difference in sports mode compared to normal. This to the point, I always use it to it when I need to do a really quick or risky take off from a stop and merge. The throttle response and shifts become way more aggressive in sports mode. If you are ready up to speed, there is not much if any difference you will feel.
Awesome review, Brian! Autogefuhl continues to offer the best, most thorough and informative reviews on RUclips! Great job!
Thanks 🙏
I have no interest in this car whatsoever. However, what makes this reviewer great is that I watched the whole episode as I am interested in his opinion, he holds my attention from start to finish. Another great review, Thomas is assembling a talented team.
really appreciated !
Awesome review! Excellent detail and coverage of all the features. Keep up the great work!
Well done, really refreshing, sounds honest and entertaining.
Best review of this vehicle I've seen on RUclips. Nice job!
thanks Dave !
This car would not fit on norwegian roads, but if I ever take a roadtrip across USA, this is want I want to drive!
Just got an Atlas. Viewed this before committing. Great job guys!
Thanks! Have fun with your new car :)
brian is a champ, great review, he knows his stuff, it shows in this review. what a great asset to the team. keep up the great work brian and the autogefuhl team. as for the atlas, in comparison to the touareg, this is a great buy. 7 seats and all the bells and whistles. it wont blow you away like an audi q7, but nor will the price, at $30k its good buying.
in your service!
I liked your review Brian and I went and bought this vehicle last week and me and my wife are enjoying it...you are doing a great job keep up the good work.
+Raj Ravulapati thanks and enjoy
wonderful mature and informative review. A great add to one of my favourite channels.
thanks great to have u here!
I said it before and saying it again. This channel deserves atleast 1 mill subs.
thanks m8 - keep spreading the word for us :)
Thank you for the great review. The detail was thorough and I hope you enjoyed the trip to the states.
thanks! Always great to be over the pond
Great review and in the spring I'll probably buy it. I'm 71 and this beast is exactly what I want for probably a last vehicle. Keep up the great work!
Thanks and feel free to recommend!
@@autogefuehl Should I buy it come late spring, I'll let you know. You strike me as informative, personable and humble. Videos with young reviewers can be somewhat distracting and tedious with cuteness. Your adult review carries a respect for the viewers and provides a real public service. Your remark about your size was noteworthy, as I'm 6'3", 240 lbs. with 32 inch pant legs (long torso, even have long lungs). The fact that it's spacious, with plenty of headroom is important to me. So, even a casual personable remark you made about your size does carry importance. Again, keep up the great work!
would love to see this van in Germany. fantastic report, keep up delivering great videos from across the Atlantic.
cheers tune in for more!
thanks for the comprehensive review Brian and Autogefühl.
love to hear that. Keep recommending us
This is the best car which I saw today in NewYork international auto show ...lots of room ,comfortable & the price is reliable..Very nice video..
+DEURALITV 👍👍
One of the best car reviews I've seen !!! Great camera, editing and commentary. Keep up the great work. i think ill be buying this car...
Really appreciated!
Great review Brian! And I love your pure accent :) it's a pleasure to watch even only to listen your speaking. Especially on american soil :)
thanks aleksander!!
Brian is the best reviewer at Autogefuhl: smart attitude, reasonable content and perfect language.
thanks Evgeny!
He's good but noone beats Thomas, sorry.
kraenk12 Brian is better than Thomas. Just my opinion.
This reviewer is great! two thumbs up
thanks pal =)
Right, Brian's here to stay! Just get that big VW to Europe, and Sweden of course. With a 3.0 litre v6 Diesel engine. Awesome as always Brian! Cheers mate!
Cheers!
Great video and very informative. Bit of a bummer to learn about the engine pick up
thanks and keep supporting us!
Excellent review - very comprehensive! Thank you.
thanks Charles!
I think we are missing the point here with this. The Atlas is made in USA for USA, so, looking at it I think it blends well. VW made a very good job designing a car for USA and we, Europeans, should not argue it's dated or dull. It's just like every other big SUV they have. I kinda like it for this. Of course, I still think it can do better in regards with MPG and I really think diesel engines could and should be offered on such a big and heavy car. But of course, with the scandal, it nearly impossible. Anyway, I appreciate the review, it was made in the true nature of Autogefuhl.
appreciated!
Autogefühl go
Sindarul o
I wish we can buy this in Europe!!!!
you are right its more for USA/Canada..for us in Europe is enough X5 ,Q7 and so ...
I'm not a big fan of Volkswagen design but this one makes an exception! Hope they'll bring it to Europe as well!
I like this new presenter a lot!
appreciated!
When you are seated on the 3rd row seat, the camera man should go to the opposite direction to capture your knee rooms/space. For the rest of it you had done a great job Brian. :)
Very good review as always, thanks.
thanks, keep tuning in! Make sure to activate the notifications that you see every new review!
I like Brian. Really detailed reviews and great opinions and points. My Only gripe is that there was no mention of the signature Autogefühl seat-surface-check ;) Get that right and we are all set for great reviews! Im really loving how different reviewers bring different POVs. Also regarding the music demonstration inside the cars, cant you use some royalty free music? Or if not and if Autogefühl is interested im an electronic music producer and i would gladly give you my music to play in the car...
thanks for the offer m8, why dont you write us a facebook message about this, lets talk :)
Hi Brian, A great review! Being a Brit VW fan/affectionado, it always pleases me to see how, even a US designed, for USA model, still has all the same switch-gear and controls that my VW Sharan has here in good ol-Blighty!
A couple of coments:
1. The buttons on the roof console: The first set of buttons you pointed too control the electric sunblind for the panoramic sun-roof. The second multi-way button, resessed between the interior light switches, is what controls the actual sun-roof. As you finally found, pushing the front-end up tilted the sun-roof. If you had, instead, rocked the whole button towards the back, the front section of the sun-roof would slide open. Then reverse these actions to close the sun-roof.
2. The drive select mode. You mentioned that the only difference seemed to be a change in the engine note. What you seem to have failed to realise is that in the Sport mode, the gearbox control lets the engine rev right up to it's red-line limit before changing up to the next gear. While in 'normal' mode the gearbox control changes up to the next gear well short of the red-line limit, to help with economy. In your abreviated acceleration test, from 65 to 70mph you wouldn't see much difference at all between the two modes. Something like 40 to 70mph would have been a much better test of the two modes really.
I was also intrieged by your coments about the amount of power and the necessity of having the V6 engine in place of the smaller 4 cylinder engine. Compared to my VW Sharan, which is also a 7 seat vehicle, the amount of power in both engines seems very generous! I have a 2 litre 4 cylinder diesel in my VW Sharan with 140ps power, and that copes perfectly weill with 7 adults and luggage, and towing!
All in all a really interesting review!
Jonathan.
thanks for the feedback!
Great review Brian! Love you accent as well, just remember that when you talk about figures such as consumption and car dimensions please have the metric system in mind as well.. guessing that as an englishman this does not come natural to you BUT IF mr "I'M 186 cm or 6 FOOT ONE" can so can you! 😊😊
Cheers and keep up the god work!
Regards from Sweden!
Why? It's an American car for the American market. It's not being sold in Sweden. If you need to know the kg, L/km, etc, don't be lazy and expect some youtube presenter to inform you; do your own math.
Out of all the Autogefuhl reviewers, I can now say that Thomas (was already my favorite) and now Brian are now my favorite.
hehe, feel free to enjoy everyone =)
Brian, nice review. Keep it up.
appreciated!
Very good car!! Thanks Brain for stunning review 👍
Keep watching us =)
Thumbs up! Awesome review. It's one of my deam cars
+Kachetu Simeon keep following us!
The VR6 in the new Atlas is a very emotional engine!🔥👍 VW desperately needs a car like this to increase the sales on the hard US-market!
Autogefühl gets international - also with reviews from US-cars 😉 keep it up !
way to go!
I really like this vehicle thank you Brian for great review.
glad u enjoyed!
I love the end summary of the video
lovely!
Excellent review, and I think he nailed the one concern with all the main line 7 row SUVs out there right now.....us mid life crisis guys want more power! Granted VW's reply is check out the Q7, 60 more HP, but $30k more in price.
thanks sean!
Brian, it's not where your arm rests:) good effort on the whole!
I was wondering what Dwight from The Office was doing these days....Great review, Michael would be proud!
thanks pal =)
Very nice review, thanks!
appreciated!
Thomas he's a great host! Good choice. Atlas is a bit to Americana even for an American such as myself. But if I didn't have my heart set on the q7 I'd consider this car!
thanks mike!
The way that this man jokes about his flauds, humble and honest, but realy precise reviewing cars is rare these days with those pompose plastic barbies an ken's with nothing in their brains, keep up the realy good work!
Greetings from Croatia
thanks, keep joining us!
great review...
I love Brian accent and the way he talk. Especially when he sound "ahhhh". Make video is more fun to watch. Of course Thomas is good as well :)
Good job guys!!! Love your review. Btw, I though this model has head up display???
+Duc Nguyen ✌️😁
+Duc Nguyen ✌️😁
I like the clean interior with the wood. It's not as extremely modern and almost cold as European Volkswagen cockpits but rather warm and homey.
I would prefer this kind of interiors also for the smaller cars of the Volkswagen corporation like the future up! or the Polo.
Besides that you just want to go on a long trip with that car. Mum and dad, grandma and grandpa and three kids. Let's say the Atlas consumes between 10 and 14 liters per 100 km, that will be 1.5 to 2 liters for each person sitting in the car. If these seven people drove in two Golfs which consume 7 liters of gasoline each we had the same consumption per person.
Thanks for the sympathic review.
interesting thought with the litre per person, you surprise me every time =)
Autogefühl Glad to hear that, my friend : )
Finally. That's a great and detailed review of a car. Congratulations.
The only thing I missed was a little, at least a short, off-road test. An SUV should also be tested for a few miles off-road. Sure, this car can't perform as well as a Wrangler, but it would be interesting to see, how it can handle some serious dirt roads or paths in a forest or sand. In fact, VW should PAY you for this review, because that's a better advertisement than VW can do themselves. Good work. Well done.
Thanks! Didnt have any offroad terrain sadly, but if we can, we also do offroad as you can see from a few of our reviews
Ok. Great. By the way...... for your test of the "Skoda Kodiaq" I have to take some time. That's like watching a Hollywood movie. 1,5 hours for a test is impressive. I'm already interested, but I'm too busy recently to watch such a "full movie", and I have to prepare some Coke and snacks. LOL.
The name of your blog, "Autogefühl", already lets assume, that you have some "feeling" for driving and cars. Driving is not always about "moving" a vehicle, it's often also about how you feel while driving a car.
And that's what many others don't talk about.
Well done.
I really enjoy your review!
great to have you here!
Great and really detailed review.
thanks, keep tuning in !
Hey I like Brian! Keep him, he's good (mainly because of his accent :p jk)! The crew is getting bigger and better by the months
thanks pal!
No thankyou for bringing Brian on board
i also think this
Brian is awesome.
Awesome review, thanks sir.
great review
thanks daniel !
I always wanted to VW to make a seven seater vehicle and it isn't to bad.
so what about the Tiguan Xl you should make a comparison between both. but bring the 4 liter engine and see which will preform better.
so many sighs of relief
Great review!
thanks stick with us!
This guy was car salesman in the past 100%!
Shanirani Kauboj your profile pic😍😍😍😍😍 my future car(:
I really like this car, it's huge and has very American design with I really like
I really like how these guys really seems so eager to show off the entire car they're reviewing. Although some car reviewed in this channel is not available here in Indonesia, I really find these reviews very enjoyable and very much Informative. I think metric system should stay? also is km/L unit for economy is really not popular elsewhere?
+Bernard Ibrahim thanks man really appreciate it stick with us
nice review, i'd like to also see a v6 tdi as i saw the glow plow pre-heat light. thanks
Thanks 🙏
Thank you Brian for this interesting review. I would like to have this 3.6 V 6 in the normal Tiguan with the 8 speed automatic. I hope Volkswagen will consider it for Europe.
indeed very rare offering of N/A engine at Volkswagen!
That won’t happen, because Volkswagen has to obey the European laws. 4-cylinder TFSI engines only (except VW Touareg). The Atlas isn’t available in Europe anyway.
Thanks for the review! I just noticed @ 15:30 mark there's no auto hold feature? What a shame! Does it really cost a lot of $$$ to include that safety feature? IMHO VWOA always removes that feature in most US market models.
You should show how the load cover storage works under the load floor when there is one.
I like that you can place 3 car seats in the second row. I would love to see a review of someone that actually does this so we can see how it works
Hope to watch Atlas vs Kodiaq vs Q7 on your channel some day.
Ostap1974 Atlas is slightly bigger than a Q7, the Kodiaq is smaller, but a Touareg vs Q7 or a Kodiaq vs Tiguan vs Q5 comparison would be interesting
Excellent review. There is one other demographic (a small one) that might be addressed. Approaching retirement and seeking a vehicle that will allow transport for 6 AND will tow a 5,000 lb trailer. As we approach retirement, the ability to glamp becomes much more appealing. A vehicle such as this is very appealing in that it provides flexibility both for home and vacation.
Get the 2.0t gen3 and go see APR stage1 to give you over 300hp and decent amount of torque, BUT thats a heavy vehicle so don't know how the MPGs going to be looking.
As an owner of a new Tiguan, I really like the Atlas. I like the VR6 and I actually like the styling. If I needed a car of this size, I'd consider it - well, if it was sold in Germany.
In Europe it would for sure be fitted with the 2,0 and 3,0 TDI engines from the VW group. Noone here buy huge gasoline powered SUV, the cost at the pump is just to much.
fundiver198 I'd do it, diesel engines don't really appeal to me. I have the GTI engine in my Tiguan and I love it, no need for a diesel.
You are the exception then. Even the Bentley Bentayga sell best in the diesel version.
fundiver198 While I agree that I'm the exception and that VW wouldn't offer the VR6 here, I think the diesel Bentayga is a bad example. It is sold more simply because its cheaper and thus more attainable by more potential buyers.
One thing that kinda saddens me is that to open the hatch, the atlas doesn't utilize the logo to act as a hatch. I always thought that was a cool thing that they started to incorporate.
Front license plates are required in Texas. However, when you get a temporary paper license plate, you only get the rear one, you don't need a front one until you get the metal plates.
oh wow! thanks for the info
All the Atlas' that are currently being shown around the country at media presentations have Michigan plates on them. Michigan has no front plate.
I like this new guy
I assume this is Brian? Excellent review considering it's not our man Mr. T.
Yeaaaa! U$ didn't kill its' cash cow, it only milked it real good ! As far as this car, I'm waiting for someone to say I really love it. To me it looks like a throw back to the 90's
Maybe few less ahhhs and few more metric units. Otherwise a nice job!
sure we ll have that fixed =)
Aaaaaaahhhhhhh, that's a relief
Who would prefer retarded imperial units over metric units???
Or may I suggest to alternate with some "Oh la la"?
;-)
:D "And let's open the bonnet... oh la la, a single gas strut!"
nice to see a suv that puts passenger space above cargo space... Its cargo for a trip not a move! something for car makers to remember
Wow Really nice car !
Hey Brian, is this the VW sister car to the Skoda Kodiaq that we have in Europe, or is it much bigger? Looks really similiar in looks.... but the leg room in the 2nd row in the Atlas looks far superior. Excellent review by the way!!!
Sister of Skoda Kodiaq is VW Tiguan Allspace or just VW Tiguan if you buy it in the US: ruclips.net/video/ETHQJ1bm6rc/видео.html
Please show how to display traffic sign recognition on the digital display
the back of the car looks like a huge version of the passat alltrack back
Nice review !!! Is Brian tiny or is this SUV absolutely massive?
Btw I don't like the inside. It looks full of cheap plastic
thanks! it's massive =)
I don’t have a family like kids or a wife but I just want this car
wait a few months. Hopefully the X7 vs the Atlas vs the Discovery
For a similar price, the volvo xc90 will do the electronically. Other than that, ahhhhhh great looking car!
Everything sounds good with this car. I only thing did not like is the engine only produce 276HP with 0 to 60 in 7.9 sec. That is with no one or storage inside the car!
In July 2018, I purchased a VW flagship version of Teramont 530V6 (2.5T) in Shenzhen, China. While I driving to 4000 kilometers, a brake failure was found. At the same time, I found that the engine was seriously leaking oil. The whole vehicle suddenly stopped running two times so far, You have to restart before you can drive. The problem has not been completely solved by looking for manufacturers and distributors many times. This problem brings a lot of troubles to my life, and I lose my confidence in Volkswagen. This case can be used for your reference when you want to buy a SAIC Volkswagen.
Oh that’s terrible! Keep us updated with how they proceed
@@autogefuehl I asked the manufacturer to refund or replace a new car , but they refused
So do they do the repairs?
@@autogefuehl The instrument panel didn’t repair ,and the engine has so much noise and being wobbled heavily OMG!!
So the head unit allows for AndroidAuto and MirrorLink but not Apple CarPlay? That seems like a serious oversight, especially since it is offered in other VWs.
I’d love a diesel one of these in the uk. Shame it’ll never happen
Brian is good at this job... but where is the metric-system gone?
fenneksSN4KE murricaaaa
hehe thanks, I ll hammer him with some metrics =) /Thomas
He didn't mention anything about the hard plastics and all the scrates to them, that are clearly visible in the "NEW" vehicle!!
+Deepak Hazari
It's a press car...it's what is to be expected.
Hi 👋
What is the best family car? In terms of stability, quality and comfort in driving. Toyota Forester, Mazda CX9 or Volkswagen Teramont
We always have affirmation of German Volkswagen technologic rigor , in July 2018 my father was very happy to buy a flagship version of the new Volkswagen (Teramont) 530V6 (2.5T) in Shenzhen, But driving to 4000 kilometers we found oil leakage problem of engine, my father ask the seller to a new car replacement but this request was unreasonably refused by the seller that made my father very depressed. I would like to ask how Volkswagen Germany can get a reasonable solution to Volkswagen China?
Did any one think to them-selves, apr chip the 2.0t or boost the vr6??? Fun fun fun
Love me some Volkswagen
Do automakers in Europe use the term "Crossover"?
I know that SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicle) are body-on-frame construction. CUVs (Crossover Utility Vehicle) are unibody construction. This vehicle is of unibody construction.
I’d buy this over the Touareg any day. It’s bigger, it’s cheaper and it’s more rugged. Oh, and it has a naturally aspirated engine, whereas the Touareg is all-turbocharged.
Thank God we can import cars in Europe from other continents, as this goliath isn’t sold here.
我在中国深圳购买Teramont)530V6(2.5T)行驶4000公里发动机严重漏机油,刹车系统失灵等问题,销售商不给退换货,请买该车的人考虑一下
as far as space, I'm 6'5 and can fit in every seat comfortably
+Shadow 3091 👍👍
+Shadow 3091 👍👍
The Atlas is begging for a 3.0 TDI.
Also, with all the rear seats folded down, can one sleep in the back without being squiched-up?
Thanks for the review!
thanks! Hm if you put something soft on the floor ... :)
I was actually interested in the approximate length of available sleeping space with all the rear seats folded down.
That styling will never look dated.
It's like my USA Passat that looks like an Audi. Nice character line along the side.
Wish that version came in like $40-45k.
When is it on sale?
Do you know they sell our US style Passat also as a wagon in China?
It looks like the old 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor...... exact body lines and all....
