Hello Thomas ! Awesome video, for sure we definitely like it and we love & enjoy to watch you explain all such details on cars.. Now about your question : I think the best combination would be an T-Roc with Golf GTi tartan seats, softer dash +manual Golf ball gearbox-knob +manual handbrake 4x4 and V6 engine.. he he ! maybe the next T-Rock convertible will see it ! Good luck, keep doing great work.. ;0)

I bought an Atlas last week, but I absolutely love the Touareg looks and interior quality. I wish the Atlas had the Touareg's build quality, and also the dual screens, but I absolutely love my Atlas.

    Driving:
    Touareg
    Overall: Tiguan
I like outside of T-Roc most, and the interior of Touareg most. For practial reasons, like driving in city I like T-Cross and it is a cute model. I think in driving part, Touareg with air suspension is far ahead of all the models here, because I like comfort driving. Tiguan is my overall favourite because you can just driving it daily, 7/24, off road, on road, not a big not a too small car .

The Tiguan is the best pick, in my opinion. It delivers a lot at a reasonable price. If I were to look for a luxury SUV the Touareg is very appealing also because it’s cheaper than other premium manufacturers and more discrete. A very nice video! Happy new year!

Great review Mr T. We (my wife and I) test drove the T-Cross and the T-Roc on UK roads. We both preferred the T-Cross. It felt less wallowy, quieter (admittedly the demonstrator was a petrol, the Roc was a diesel), roomier (much roomier in the cabin), cheaper and we thought the quality was better too. We wanted the interior room rather than the boot space so it was an easy choice. Also for a £20k car (we bought the lovely first edition) the quality was good (hard plastics but solid). The T-Roc was no better, and the test car was about £27K, and for that money i'd expect more plushness and equipment. For the size/cost of a Polo car, the T-Cross is an excellent choice, and after 2 months ownership my wife still loves it. For me, i've just ordered a Tiguan R-Line. can't wait to pick it up!!

Sir for me the VW T - Cross is still the best small SUV Segment in my opinion when the vehicle was launched into South Africa the car critics confirmed the best value for money and the entry level was under R300,000.OO I am so pleased with my DSG ( Direct shift gearbox ) Automatic standard spec which still has all the bells and whistles the smooth DSG Drive is excellent that you dont even feel the gears change also the DSG finds the highest gear 7 speed to save feel what a car!!!!

Two weeks ago and before seeing this extensive VW review I leased an SEL 4Motion Tiguan (US model) (Black). Love it! Though another 30 hp would be appreciated. My last 3 vehicles have been BMW's. (328i, 528i and an X3) Unfortunately, BMW prices are getting somewhat ridiculous. I believe the US Tiguan will be a real competitor for the X3 if they market it properly. Great comparison review...

Great video Thomas for car enthusiasts. Yes, thumbs up to Jonas. You'd have to like VW of course, but I prefer style and size of SWB Tiguan to Allspace. Tiguan SWB good compromise/mixture, good all-rounder, size and price, and can be had with all the kit, inc DCC, HUD, Area View. And importantly, a nice light coloured interior. Felt in door pockets, adaptive cup holders with a cover, no blank switches, frameless inside mirror, hydraulic bonnet support. Although there's comfy air-suspension on Touareg, the Tiguan SWB with DCC set to comfort is all I'd need, and it's not so excessive as Touareg/Q8. Don't like versions with fake exhausts, but like the 24 degree front-end version on Tiguan SWB. Cheers. (Hope that answered some of your questions Thomas!)

It is interesting that you point out that T-Cross looks larger than T-Roc (seen from the front). This is a design trick VW has borrowed from Citroën with their Cactus and C3 models in relation to eg C4 Picasso (although that model is much larger physically). That smaller car models in this way get a bigger appearance is a really smart selling point. That the smaller models also recall the larger models as well (very prominent with the old BMW E36 and E38 models). Great review as always :)

Firstly, thank you for braving the elements Thomas. Your dedication to the viewers is second to none.
In my honest, humble and sincere opinion, Volkswagen styling has gone wayward of late. It appears they are trying too hard to style their vehicles to suit the Chinese and US markets.
Volkswagen is a European brand and as such should remain true its origins and exude euro panache in its design language as it has in the past but is moving further from in the present.

+the cunninghams - interesting reply. We have a CX-3 Sport Nav 150ps petrol! Love it. So for Overall we pick the CX series, like you. Looking forward to see the up-coming New CX-3. Though some VW designs maybe iffy, I think it's a mistake by VW to cheapen the interiors of their smaller cars, eg hard materials etc. But we borrowed for a week, a New Tiguan SEL with every extra and a light coloured inside, and it was very nice, relaxing, and had a quality interior. Cheers.

    My favourite:
Exterior from the front and Rear view is the VW T-cross because it look modern and different however from the side view I like the T-roc cause it looks more like a golf than a SUV.
Interior is the Touareg because it looks high tech and just as good or better than an Audi.
Driving wise, it would have to be the T-roc as it is relatively low to the ground and has less weight so will handle more like a golf.
Overall they are good and nice in different ways but for me I’d have the T-roc as it’s just like a Golf but looks more modern and has the extra ride height. Great review Thames and co love to see more comparisons like this in future. Keep it up

    Great Video. Very nice
    Exterior: T-Cross, Tiguan (Both Version)
    Interior: T-Cross, Tiguan (Both Version)
Driving: Tiguan SWB, it's more refined, you can use it a lot more for long journeys, and still in town. Tiguan Allspace (LWB) it's just more hard in town. Longer and harder to park and maneuver, but a lot more usable than the Touareg in 5 seater mode.
Overall: Tiguan (Both Version) depending on the usage. For mostly intown usage and occasional longer journeys with 2 kids is the SWB. For a lot of journeys, ski holidays, or even 3 children is the AllSpace.
P.S. T-Cross for only town with kids, as it will have the room for Isofix chairs and it is cheaper and maneuverable.

Superb review from Thomas as we have come to expect. I have the SWB Tiguan SEL 2.0 Tsi in the UK also in Thomas’s favourite blue. Such a comfortable drive, and exceptional equipment level. Agree with the silent cabin with the petrol engine, I don’t do enough miles to warrant the diesel. Overall an excellent review for anyone thinking of purchasing any of the VW SUV’s.

Good description of the differences between the VW SUVs operator differences. Did not cover detailed technical data like make driving noise measurements while driving. Your passenger could have been doing that with a phone app. What’s really missing from the VW line is a true off road SUV that’s truly a Jeep challenger that’s American Tough for the south west of the USA and other more desert climates. Jeep is really taking off in this market and VW could challenge but VW would need a new platform with hard edges, not plastic edges. Everyone is making this type of off-road platform. The Touareg is no longer a Jeep competitor.

awesome comparison thomas, well done. i would take the touareg out of these, but then, if i were pushed to buy, i would choose the audi q7. the touareg is too much money for what it is. its $49k usd for the base model, and the audi q7 is $53k usd for the base model. i would absolutely spend the extra $4k for a far nicer car.

My Favourite would be the Tiguan Allspace. As a caravaner I would find the T-Cross and T-Roc too small and underpowered for towing. The Touareg is just way too expensive.
Interestingly the Tiguan Allspace and it's brother the SEAT Tarraco are ONLY available in the UK as 7 seat vehicles. I prefer the Allspace over the SWB Tiguan as it's got a lot more versatile boot space, much more like an estate/combi car than the SWB Tiguan, a boon for carrying all the 'normal' accessories for the caravan.

The Atlas is also sold as the Teramont in the Mexico, Russia and the Middle East (in the last two both the Teramont and the Touareg are sold)
In Russia the Teramont starts at the equivalent of about 43000€ and the Touareg about 37000€

This is the best Review of SUV/crossovers of VW, since Mar-2019, I started looking for such reviews.
Basic search RUclips, and I end up here :)
    @Autogefühl Vielen Dank :)
    In regards to game/scheme:
Exterior: T-Roc (In fact I was searching T-Roc, and spotted this video, so I what I wanted I received. Danke.)
Interior: T-Roc (def. better for me comparing T-Cross)
Driving: Tiguan vs. Touareg (I'm not an expert, but it looks "being driven" starting matter after trying such cars. Need to try/think more).
Overall: T-Roc vs. T-Cross (these both looks OK for me in general, I have to admit, that variety of small features make a difference, but I'm not mature driver enough to judge/compare/select yet).

I really like the looks, but why are there so many problems with the engines in the USA? So many comments about issues with interior issues, noise, mirrors? Is it because the Tiguans in the USA are not German built, but manufactured in Mexico?

Thank You Thomas for This 5 ****** Comparison !!!
Better than in my VW Dealer !!!
It's the first time i See the Allspace in 5 seats (to compare with my 2011 Passat Varant (same size + - 4m70) and i'm suprised because of the finish in the Allspace 5 seats is much Better in the trunk
(the finishes are horrible in the trunk of 7 seats)
Good idea that you can measure the size of trunk
    But you forget :
    - Width
    - height
    - the ajustable heigth on the tiguan / tiguan trunk( easy when you load for holliday )
    For the perfection
    of your test
Add a Decibel Meter Noise meter to make a comparison of noise in the car @ 50/70/90/130 KM/h
it's a important choice the acoustic level (example: inside my 1.6TDi passat 2011 make less noise than my new Variant Golf TDI highline 1.6tdi of 2016 @ 110/120 KM / h (reasoning noise in the exhaust line)
    Exterior:
    tiguan (look and size)
    Interior:
Touareg ( equipement and insonorisation) and tiguan
    Driving:
Touareg (confort but too big size)
Overall: Tiguian allspace ( i like cars with big trunk)
Don't like : Hard plastic on dashbord and doors ( not vw quality!!!! stupid decision in T-ROC & T-CROSS ==> Nerver: Elimination !!!)

Very easy interesting and, as usual, very thorough and informative. I'd go for the t cross for a practical daily driver, the LWB Tiguan as a family car .... I'd go for a q8 instead of a touareq ...on another note, I think the t roc would be great with a soft top option, as a cross over open top car

If anyone is interested in Greek pricing it is: T-Cross not yet launched, T-Roc from 19950€, Tiguan from 24950€, Tiguan Allspace not officially imported (presumably only after order) and Touareg from 77000€

Hi there from sunny Portugal! This was the best washed cars video I have ever seen! When we buy a new car they should be mandatory detailed like those ones are! Who detailed (washed and cleaned) those cars? Here I go yo a vw stand and new cars are full of swirls and scratches and on the day we buy they pass a dirty cloth and put some shine on tyres.... That's unacceptable! I will never buy a new car again with scratches and swirls! The vendor has to assure it! I have never seen a journalist /TV review with such a well waxed paint! Congratulations to whoever treated it! I have golf mk5 and I want a mk7 or a tiguan as I don't have money for a touareg nor a cayenne... But here in Portugal a mk7 2.0 tdi highline is only by 4 month order as it doesn't exist on stands and it costs 50 thousand euros! Yes 50!... The tiguan is even more expensive... Great review, the best I have ever seen. But in Portugal volkswagen chain is a shame....

I am not a fan of the T core and T Roc. However the Tiguan is STILL my favourite car on sale right now. I would have a Tiguan allspace in SEL trim colour Black. Interesting about the Atlas. However it looks really cheap compared to the Touraeg

T-Cross is the more interesting of the pack, a real mini SUV, comfortable in the city but suitable for road trips as well. It is selling very well all over Europe and it surely deserve it. A very nice project.
T-Roc is trendy, but inside if feels less spacious and airy than the T-Cross, no practical reason to prefer it over the T-Cross.
Tiguan is a bit anonymous, nothing inside or outside stands out, hope there will be a substantial restyling because the project has potentials.
Touareg is a cruise ship, extremely comfortable and classy, it is a real pleasure to drive it and travel in it. Perhaps too expensive, it starts from 60k and with some optionals you can easily get around 70k and with those money most people tend to invest in a more premium brand such as Audi, BMW or Mercedes; that is why you don't see many Touareg around despite it is indeed a good project.
Atlas..no thanks. Get a Touareg and live happy.

Tiguan wins in term of practicality and comfort, but if you wanna pay less you can get the Ateca it is close to the Tiguan, a bit smaller, and lower in quality though.

I just bought a Tiguan 1.5 130 PS. I find it the best (spacias and small engien). I don’t like the 1.0 engiens, and the Allspace and Touareg are 2 expensive. Te T-Rock is not a good car, it was 2 cramped inside for mel the T-Cross is better, it has a higher sitting position, so you feel it has more space inside.

Hey Thomas, awesome review as always. I was hoping you would mention the power delivery in these cars; I understand the environment you reviewed them restricts you in this regard. But I wanted to know if you felt the power in the Tiguan was good enough for overtaking, city driving and on the highway if it still noise-insulated. Anyways:
    Exterior: Touareg
