It is better. Out in the woods, a frame lock is king, like a sebenza. It's 20cv sharp too. No omega springs breaking rendering it useless like the bugout. This is my real world experience, as i trash my knives. Another impressive knife is the Sitvien st990. It's holding up amazingly.
Great video. I own the exact same knife. I’m a titanium freak. I’ll pick a titanium model over a scaled liner lock, every time, any day. The lock bar is definitely stiff. It’s not for people with supple hands. Bringing the relief cuts in a little tighter would helped. Also, the action makes it fail really easy. But I think you’re right, it will break in.
Thanks Bud, I feel the same about titanium a lot of the times man... It just feels .. nice lol.. As far as the action goes, if/when it breaks in, it would be kind of dreamy lol ... but Yeah.. that's going to take a hot minute lol ... Thanks for watching dude and giving your feedback on the knife as well!
I just snagged one on their anniversary sale for 130. I must admit, I almost returned it. It was stiff out of the box, and smaller than I remember the Elementum being. After I put some KPL on the detent ball and flicked a few times, I began to like the knife. It's still easy to fail, but the action is super snappy. In my experience, knives that are easy to fail usually have a weak detent, but this one doesn't. For the size, it feels like a very sturdy knife and one that'll last for years to come. I think it's a solid backup/5th pocket knife.
Yeah this is a no for me. At that price there are literally 30 other knives that I would buy first. If I want to carry an elemtum I'll just grab my button lock lol. Great review brotha 👍
@@EEDC let's see here pm2, smock, mini adamas, frag ti penguin, Appalachian drifter 2, shaman, scorpion, ascot, harvester, and the list will continue for the $175 price tag there's alot of knives I'd rather have 🤣

I would have textured the titanium, removed the lanyard hole, kept the hollow grind, and recessed the pocket clip. If they had done those things, I would have bought one.
I think recessing and making it a non fold over style clip would have done wonders for this guy. Thanks for watching Rubicon! Means more than you know dude!
I didn't but I don't put a huge amount of stock in under heat treated m390 :( we has great everything but their heat treat on m390 in particular is just meh... NOT AWFUL but meh .. like if you want bite on your edge. Better not finish it above 600 grit lol

Lol my bad for snapping as well I haven't made a video in like over a year so I care less about my retorts but I'm on edge tonight I was projecting and for that I apologize lol
Seems silly to not have milled the back of the scales and get the weight down to the original. Titanium, but heavier is a weird direction. Sounds like the original is the way to go (and the civivi mini is a super cool little blade too).
Titanium doesn't cost that much. Trust me. It's marked up because yes it is harder to work with but I work in an industry with al metals to make alloys. I know the cost I can get 10 lbs of pure titanium for 20 bucks. That's enough to make 10 sets of scales assuming there is loss in the melting process. Don't really care to hear the excuse we have to be real with ourselves here 💯....
@@EEDC Titanium is 35-50 times more expensive than stainless steel. It is also harder to machine. Thus the extra cost. You might do a little research before you start giving misinformation.
Are you kidding..... yes it might be 35 times mor3 expensive... do your research on who your talking to lol.... I PURCHASE the titanium for my company making over 100 million lbs a year of aluminum alloys that USE pure titanium. So yes iron might be 10 to 20 cents a lb depending on current lme pricing, but it's also denser... meaning 1 cubic in of fe is going to cost more than 1 cubic inch of aluminum due to weight. Same goes goes for ti. Get a clue and stop acting like YOU know what your talking about lol.... wrong guy bud been in my industry for 10 plus years.... being more difficult to machine is ALSO true but that's why diamond tooling and carbide tooling exists... I've ALSO purchased carbide tooling for steel companies and I can tell you... its hardier than you think... and lasts longer than manufacturing companies will imply.... lmfao you won though ... your ignorance and arrogance pissed me off ... well played
To end it all with a caveat - custom makers - they don't have the means to mass produce - this is where tooling costs hurt the most, less automation more hand work so yes custom makers in this discussion are the exception.

The higher quality material used is where the $100 worth comes in. Come on we’re talking titanium and 20cv !
