Not this year, but in the past I have purchased two Boker Mermaids as gifts. Two ladies in my life now carry a purse knife on the regular. Thank you BHQ and Boker.
I'm slowly building out my collection, finally getting to some grail knives. My daily was the Kalashnikov, since getting that exclusive 940 though, it has become my daily. Love the exclusive jade handles. Definitely worth it.
I find it hilarious and amazing that the Dessert Warrior colors are actually practical in some way, and you actually have a good reason to go "Maybe I should get this one?" that isn't "it's funny"
It's definitely a different list when you go buy number purchased. I love to see what is most popular. I'm liking the George and Theo duo on Blade Banter!
I have gone a bit ham this year with my knife purchases. I had a lot of knives as a teen\young adult, I was in scouts and camped a lot. Over time I lost all of the knives I owned except for an original Gerber multi-tool, a single blade victornox army knife, and some Chinese knock off S.A.K. I've bought a Manic 2, a Para 3, a BK16 fixed blade, a Esee Izula, and a couple of Civivi knives. Today I just installed a set of AWT aluminum scales and an aluminum ball cage for the Manix 2, and I'm LOVING IT!!!!!
The Elementum Dessert warrior always makes it into one of my pockets and non-knife people always ask about it. Fun little things like that might make one more fan of knives and that’s big for the community.
Just bought my first 940 two weeks ago…thanks for making me feel good about my decision. :) Surprising to see the Benchmade Buggout isn’t in the top 10.
Shout to my buddy JT for giving me the Boker mermaid as a Christmas gift this past year. For such a meme of a knife, it is surprisingly very well made.
I would 100% buy a dessert warrior dragonfly. Make it happen captain. As far as knife of the year for me goes, it was the WE Mini Malice. The action is so good on it and its si comfortable in hand. I love it. That being said, I preorder the Arcane Design Preytheon in titanium and they haven't shipped yet so we shall if it wins out the year.
Good to see “a blade steel guy” in BHQ videos, finally. Crucarta PM2 and the textured handle Pro-tech Malibu were my favorite knives of 2022 (just don’t make me choose which is best!)
One of the greatest BHQ videos was the Mermaid coming out of the Lake. :). Great list with how quickly those Dessert Warriors went I get. I wish the Kubey Momentum was on this list. It punches way above its price point.
I especially love the lines of that Momentum. I think the reason it's not on the list is it was a late-comer in the year, but I think 2023 will be the year of Kubey! Thanks for watching! -George
I bought a cold steel American lawman s35vn in 2020 for $78 on Amazon after my Spidey tenacious walked away. Was so tired of sharpening it weekly it was a blessing. Wouldn't trade my cold steel for anything else I've handled ever!
Just started collecting last month...so far i got the Microtech Ultratech and the Microtech Hera Frag. On the way is the Benchmade Bailout from you guys 👍🏼
I have been carrying my WINKLER belt knife since 2013, and I have a WINKLER UTILITY CRUSHER I got 2 yrs ago. Those blades are incredibly AWESOME, but I did get a TOOR field 2.0 ,and that is the knife of the year. CPM154 is underrated ( not 154cm) they are totally different . The TOOR field 2.0 is really awesome!!!!
The number 1 for be has been the Schrade303 that has been on my EDC for the last 6 years. Its a tank and a half at 9 ounces, can even use it as a hammer
They're $200 because Spyderco refuses to sell knives at lower price. Each knife they sell at MSRP they make 70% profit. That's crazy. They're quality knives, but many other companies make knives with the same degree of fit & finish.
@@alpine1600s First, Spyderco sells plenty of knives at much lower prices. There are some epic budget Spydercos. You can get a Delica with s30v for $99! Second, nobody sells knives at MSRP (or at least nobody with a functioning brain buys for MSRP)… almost all manufacturers knives sell at around 20-30% off msrp, and most of the big retailers have standing 10-15% discounts. A 50-70% profit margin isn’t that crazy anyway, not that I think you have any idea what the margin is on a US built PM2. With perfect centering, sharpening, action.. Materials, fit and finish, manufacturing, lifetime warranty all factor into the top tier knives and a Spyderco represents a good value. There are many $200 knives that aren’t worth it, but the PM2/P3is a knife for life and it feels like it. (I say $200, but you can find a PM2 for $160, P3 for $115(!) at BHQ)
First spyderco was a pm3 ins45vn , love it too small for my hands that same day i bought a pm2 in s45vn and have scales and deep carry clip. Looking for a tanto pm2.
@@troysnyder8174 Yeah, I like the PM2 a lot, and I own one, but I carry the Para 3 because it’s legal in my state. I rock the black blade, digi camo scales with a black ti backspacer. That’s another thing, they do a nice job on their black blades - it’s not that cheesy paintjob looking black, it’s well done.
I just bought my first Benchmade. It will be my 3rd but the other 2 were gifts. Other than that I've been buying Pro-tech autos and Civivi fixed blades.
I think some of the best ones are more grail style knives due to most can't afford lol. My grail was a large sebenza. Finally got it it a few months ago. Some what regret (still love it), I sold to much of my other gear to get it
I have two of the bladehq 940bk-2004 and on one I swapped the regular green aluminum scales over, it is my most used knife. I've been saying ever since the release of the mini adamas, if BM ever releases a cruwear 940, it will break the internet. I'm happy with cpm-m4 though. Both are very similar it performance and they're both my favorite.
i would expect the number one to be the coolest most intimidating one but it is actualy the opposite and i see why, that was very unexpected. i want it too
Does BladeHQ have sell out statistics for sprint runs? Like how fast a sprint run sells out. That would be a good video for the fastest selling sprint or custom runs during the year.
Two of my purchases this year contributed to the numbers! The PM2 & CRKT Vox (fun little beater/loaner knife). I also purchased my dream knife through blade hq being the Spyderco Shaman and I strongly believe it would be on this table if it wasn't so expensive, the steep price tag must be a deterrent for a lot of people.
Your are absolutely correct!! The Spyderco Shaman, in my opinion, is a culmination of all the best attributes from Spyderco’s lineup smashed into the ultimate knife. Much like you, over the past few years I have transitioned out of the "budget" knife realm into the slightly more "high end" realm! During the process I have acquired a few knives that have been on my wish list for some time. I have picked up a Spyderco Para 3( Blacked out S45VN), Benchmade 940(Standard Green anodized with S30V), Spyderco Shaman( Blacked out S30V) and most recently I just picked up a Spyderco Para 2 ( Black DLC Murdered Out with CPM-CruWear) and I almost forgot I also picked up a Benchmade Griptillian, the Griptillian was a knifeCenter exclusive and it came with red FRN scales and a CPM- 20CV blade that’s blacked out. I took my Griptillian and put some Applied Weapons Tech scales on it and a killer cool skull bead lanyard and it’s an awesome knife. But your right a lot of the really awesome USA manufactured knives that are available are quite expensive and that’s absolutely a factor in their sales!!
I love the channel and merry Christmas to you all I love the Lightning OTF great knife pretty cheap and it works fine I just wish the steel was better keep up the great work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
At the start of summer I had been carry a bugout for about a year then I bought a pm2 (most money I’ve ever spent on a knife) the best knives I’ve ever had in every single way possible and looking to customize it….the 940 has been getting my attention just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Thanks so much for throwing our bead on the #1 knife of the year!!!
I found you!!

The Blade HQ exclusive 940 is one of my favorites too! -Jim
Did it come with an angle grinder lolz
That handle is awesome
I have an Elementum that I carry regularly. I love it. I recently purchased a Vosteed Raccoon. It is amazing!!
Heck yeah, George!! The man
940 Osbourne is my fave folder of all time.
my personal favorite of the year is my gerber auto propel... thank u gentlemen & merry christmas
True. I collect Benchmade and high end Boker’s but my fav everyday carry is what came in as No. 1. No spoiler alerts from this guy!
We know it is not benchmade
Bring back this version of the dessert warrior, please. 🙏🏻
I just bought the Boker XXL Kalash that you showed in this video. Thanks for the good info, guys!
I find it hilarious and amazing that the Dessert Warrior colors are actually practical in some way, and you actually have a good reason to go "Maybe I should get this one?" that isn't "it's funny"

That's a great year of knives! Great call on the BK16, I think it's a fairly underrated fixed blade. To many more great knife years! -George
Hillarious that the Boker Mermaid continues to be a top seller year after year. I bought one several years ago.
Grabbed a Para3 this year, I love it so much!
I just got into knives like two weeks ago and decided to dip my toes with a piet. Can't wait for it to come!
A great first choice! -Jim
I own a PM2 with purple G10 scales and black DLC coated CruWear. It’s amazingly sharp. I love it.
The Elementum Dessert warrior always makes it into one of my pockets and non-knife people always ask about it. Fun little things like that might make one more fan of knives and that’s big for the community.
finally got a baby banter and enjoying it. Got my partner the dessert Warrior too
Yes to a Dessert Warrior Dragonfly. Lol are you listening BladeHQ and Spyderco Execs?!? That would be awesome!
Here here! That would be pretty legendary! -George

i missed the baby banter on your list, i got 2 of them, love them
i picked up the buttonlock elementum yes i did and i love it
The PM3 Cru Wear with Micarta was my favorite this year

I would so get a dessert warrior shaman😂
Prize/useability ratio is great on the Elementum :)
It’d be amazing for y’all to carry the Hanson!!
Why would they? They came up with a great idea, and then you guys tried to do an offshoot. Doesn’t really add up for them.
@@martatrujillo8135 Maybe you should check out the history behind us 🤷🏻♂️
I bought a g10 para3 with a cruwear blade this past year... incredible edc knife. I like it much more than my bugout.
CRKT Piet is a great knife for the price. Excellent to gift to friends and relatives.
Love the bhq exclusive ferrum forge gent 2.0 I just got.
I got one of the Dessert Warriors this year. It’s a fun knife. People who aren’t knife people like it! ❤🔪
love that lanyard on the elementum 👍 any idea where to snag the bead?
Good to see “a blade steel guy” in BHQ videos, finally. Crucarta PM2 and the textured handle Pro-tech Malibu were my favorite knives of 2022 (just don’t make me choose which is best!)
George - you have done a fantastic job hosting these videos. Where did you get the lanyard bead on your Civivi Elementum? Merry Christmas to you.
i was planning on a para 3 but i went to the spyderco factory outlet in golden and held a Sage 5 with carbon fiber g10 and i was sold.
Love my civivi elementum, it's just the right size . Great little knife.
Knives I want to be made into a Dessert Warrior variant the most: Benchmade Bugout and Spyderco PM2. Make it happen Benchmade and Spyderco!

The bestech strelit! A folding, hawkbilled push dagger/ the ultimate general purpose utility knife! And soooo good looking to!
One of my favorites!
I wish microtech would bring back the Socom Elite folder. What a smooth, lightweight, handling knife with a robust edge keeping steel!
Did George end with “see you on the next time”???
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Where can I get that bead on the Dessert Civivi!?
I picked up the Civivi Elementum in dessert warrior. I put pink lanyard and blue glow in the dark bead. #1 for 2022.
I feel like the Cjr crag with the recoil lock is so underrated!!
I liked Tomas of Tactical Tavern 🔪 banter with George
I love knifes. I have the conspirator, and I am really surprised the praxis or mini praxis didn't make the list.
I bought a cold steel American lawman s35vn in 2020 for $78 on Amazon after my Spidey tenacious walked away. Was so tired of sharpening it weekly it was a blessing. Wouldn't trade my cold steel for anything else I've handled ever!

great video! I am biased because I just bought an Elementum and I love it!

Next year we will see the Sencut knives! They are insane for the price
I came so close to getting that Elementum for my wife as a stocking stuffer. I probably will get her one when they're back I'm stock.
That bead knife combo. 🤤 🤤
As of right now petrified fish is my favorite brand for budget pocket knives
Love my Buck 112 Auto
I’ve seen the XXL in person…it’s intimidating!
Big fan of CJRB. Just recently got the Silax fixed blade and just ordered the pyrite this morning. Love their knives!
I wish the Civivi Lumi was more popular. Love carrying that guy. But I gotta get that Elementum
Girlfriend got me an Elementum. Great knife for everyday use.

940 and dessert warrior!!!!
The Benchmade Taggedout,or the upgraded Hogue Deka,
I have benchmade, spyderco, cold steel and zt but my favorite is the one I have made myself.
That Dessert Warrior is great for Gravy Seal LARPers.
Just curious where'd you get the donut bead?!
Para 2 was my first knife as well. Before I was even into the stuff
I sanded my clip so it looks like yours. I have the Spyderco stretch with super blue
I want that cru with micarta so bad!
