    Small drones are fun, specially during the cold and rainy days where you want to keep practicing, flying, and having fun but the weather is against you. And is not secret that DJI has been terrible at giving FPV pilots the chance to enjoy indoor, tinywhoop kind of style fun since they have never created a small enough VTX.
    But manufacturers are finding work arounds, and in this video we will see if GEPRC idea with the darkstar will provide the same kind of fun as when flying a walksnail, HDzero, or even analog tinywhoop indoors.
    The GEPRC dark star can be found at: nordfpv.com/pr...
    The mobula6 HDZero can be found at: nordfpv.com/pr...

    You are right. My 03 pavo pico is soley to use as a small camera for indoors or very close to people. The smallest fun 03 in the sense of freestyle is a 3" I built from a coverted crux35. Since I really don't want to spend money on multiple digital systems, I'm still analog on my whoops and I'm ok with that. I have a 75mm whoop with a naked vista, but I seldom fly it. It's analog mobula6 in the house for me too for the real fun.

      Flywoo tends to do nice drones. Unfortunately they are not very easy to work with. I’m not sure if it’s because they are a very small company or what. Reviewing and selling their products takes a very high level of effort.

    Thanks for the review! Good info. How loud is it?

      Great question! Would have loved to see some non-FPV footage of the thing in flight, with audio.

      Good question and yes it would have been good to show it in the video. It’s actually not that loud. A bit louder than the mobula but not that much.

    Hey NordFPV, thanks for this nice video! i just bought the same like yours, ELRS 2.4G version, but is it compatible to my Dji controller 2? I can't seem to make it work. After installing the 03 unit from my pavo pico to the Darskstar, i set it to to the right Ports plus Serial(via UART) and SBUS. But until now it's not responding to any stick movement. Do you have any suggestion? really appreaciate it a lot.

    • @NordFPV
      @NordFPV  5 месяцев назад

      Hi. Thanks.
      Normally the missing part is the SBUS and GND cables from the O3 to the AiO. Do you have them? The ELRS version has a stripped down harness missing those 2 cables. If you do have them, check the port configuration and check that the SBUS is actually connected to the right port.

      @@NordFPV you're right, there's only 4 cables 2 are missing. But, can i still make it too work? do you have any suggestions how?

    • @juancgallardo
      @juancgallardo 5 месяцев назад

      Of course. You just need to install those 2 missing cables. Either in the harness or soldering outside.

    • @anthonymoldezfitness3048
      @anthonymoldezfitness3048 5 месяцев назад

      @@juancgallardo ok so it gets complicated, haha i do not know a single thing about soldering, guess i need to go to any electronic shop here and get it done. thanks though!

    • @NordFPV
      @NordFPV  5 месяцев назад

      You may want to try just to add the cables to the harness. Check if someone has the cables already crimped and get them from them. That will be a very easy way to fix it IF you have those cables. Otherwise I will recommend you to start learning to solder, you will do it a bit in this hobby and it will get expensive quick if every time you need to solder you go to some service.

    With the WTFPV version does it come with a prewired DJI O3 HD cables that plugs into the DJI 03 or do you have to obtain and solder a cable?

    • @NordFPV
      @NordFPV  11 месяцев назад

      The cable is there already soldered as shown in the video. You just have to plug it into the O3.

    Is it possible for me to ask for the factory Betaflight CLI backup this O3 version?
    Unfortunately, it is not possible to download the CLI Dump on the geprc page. :/

      Hello. I'm asking GEPRC to put it in their website. I'm not sure why is not there.
      If they you check in 3 days and is not there yet, feel free to email me at info @ nordfpv . com and I'll copy and paste mine for you.

    Does anybody know what the HxWxD dimensions of the battery cage are? I don't have one of these yet but I've got some 2s batteries lying around that still work perfectly fine. Mine are 19mmx12mm. Has anybody used calipers on it yet?

    I just bought the geprecdark star 20 and y cannot flash it. When i tried to do it trough wifi mode, it appears that the receiver is beta fpv 2.4 nano. I dont know what firmware set up, if it is elsr beta 2.4 nano or geprec 2.4 nano as the manual said. What do you suggest or how can i do it. Tks a lot

      When you connect WiFi to the receiver it should say the model and version. I doubt a new drone from Geprc will have a betafpv receiver…

    What would be helpful would be to compile a list of batteries that are compatible with this quad. I have the same problem as you: my 2S batteries are just a tad too large.
    Anyone here know of some batteries that actually fit?

    • @NordFPV
      @NordFPV  10 месяцев назад +1

      That will be a good idea. GEPRC has one that fits, but I don’t normally have their batteries

    • @Blitnock
      @Blitnock 10 месяцев назад

      @@NordFPV Do you know the name of that GEPRC battery? Outside links don't usually work on RUclips, so the battery name would help. I just checked their site and only saw 1S and 3S batteries, but no 2S batteries. Also, some weeks ago I saw another review of this quad that did discuss compatible batteries to a small extent. One reviewer suggested cutting off the plastic battery holder and using a velcro strap for the battery; I have some small straps, but I'm a bit nervous about doing this. I probably shouldn't be, lol.
      But yeah-- the battery mounting issues with this quad are a bit painful. Thank you for sharing your review.

    You don't have to tell us why this drone exists. And holding it in your waving hands while you talk about the philosophy of all kinds of different drones, swing it to rapidly to get a good look at it, all the wile having some stock porno music playing in the background is a waste of time for us, if not for the guy with more money than sense and a bunch of expensive studio equipment he needs to put to use creating influencer content.
