    If you have a chance, you should put some of this insulation on the rear inner wheel wells located in the trunk. That will quiet it even more !!!

    Cool vid man. I deadened exclusively around/behind my speakers in my tacoma after seeing similar decibel before and afters(approx 18x24" behind speaker. I agree with you however, overall everything inside just felt more solid audio-wise even though I never covered the entire door. I'll probably do the same with the 4runner

    Sound is measured in decibels, so 3dB is significant. And the frequency composition is noticeably different. I had similar results on a Taco

    Thanks for sharing man. Really cool transformation - if i get a 4Runner I’ll be referring to your video to do sound deadening myself. The dB measurement was interesting, however, my understanding of decibels is it’s a measurement of sound pressure, not necessarily volume. They’re somewhat related, but this is good evidence that the dB read isn’t the best way to measure decrease in cabin volume. Maybe a sound engineer out there can confirm/correct me. Either way, good stuff!
    Would’ve loved a recording of cruising speed inside of the cabin after the install, apart from the dB reading!

    Amazon basics is better than Noico great job going the route you chose.

    looked like about a 3 decibel difference which is a big decrease in loudness. I'd call it a success.

    Was it easy to reapply the plastic film inside the door panels? Did you need to use any tape or anything? Thanks

    the vehicle is most loud from the floor I believe. and yes the floor is going to make the most noticeable difference.
    But I also recommend to always have Closed PE Foam on every butyl area you put it in especially the doors, because those actually do deaden the noise, butyl itself won't help much but reduce resonance only.

    I did on this my 2018 ORP and it was well worth it. I now have a 2022 trd pro and will do the same mod. Lesson learned: too much deadening on the hatch can weigh down down the door where the struts can't handle it.

      getting ready to do mine. how was the process? how much is too much for the rear? did you do floors?

    • @JohnWon-l4n
      @JohnWon-l4n 3 месяца назад +1

      @jesseoverlin4379 I didn't do the floors beacuse it's too much work. ~60% coverage should do it for the rear hatch. You don't need do 100% on the doors either. I would do ~80% on doors. The key is to clean it well, use the right tools such a roller, and wear gloves. The hardest part was installing the door panel but I think there's a recent video how to do it easier taking off the attachment clips at the top of the door panel and install the first and simply push in the door panel.

      @jesseoverlin4379 I did the foam too. I'm not sure what difference it makes though.

    I'm trying to figure how much material to get. The Amazon basic 18x32 comes in 9 pieces. How many pieces do I need for the 4 doors and trunk hatch? Thank you.

    Got my 4 doors done. Still need to do the rear hatch. Want to do the rear cargo bay and wheel wells, but that is a bigger undertaking. Used the same stuff you used. I can't say it is quieter, but the noise doesn't come from the sides anymore if that makes sense

      Not sure, but the box of sound deader was 27lbs I used most of it so my guess is with the foam it might be around 35lbs or so.
