Love your content! We’re also DVC owners (just passed ROFR on our 3rd contract), and are in the same season of life. We love taking our grandkids to Disney! 😊
Thank you so much and Welcome Home again with your 3rd contract. With the last 100 point contract we just got we plan on taking the grandkids in the summer months to enjoy the water parks. This will be adde to our family spring trip and our fall trip for just us. If you haven’t already please consider subscribing. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
This was cute...wife and I bought this year and love hearing from longer time members here on youtube and on the bus/around the campfire/etc at the resorts.
@@WelcomeHome-1923 Riviera, we met with a guide on a Disney cruise last year but didn't buy. We had a trip already planned to Pop Century in January so we decided to wait even though we gave up some incentives/price increase/etc. We toured Riviera this past January with our guide and decided to buy once we saw it in person and we got it. We stayed there in May for our first welcome home and will be staying there for a week next month.
I've watched this video 3x now. I really love how you explain everything based on your plans. It is so inspiring to hear from long-time DVC members. We are in the process of buying our very first DVC points. We are in our 40's and have 3 teenagers and we love Disney and Florida so much. Your goal is very realistic on how you bought your DVC points and not just having the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) kind of feeling to buy DVC points. Can you share your experience with booking within the 7-month window to other resorts with buying value points (SSR) please? Everyone says buy where you want to stay which I totally understand, but I have a family of 5 and wanted a longer stay (usually 2 weeks) and looking at 1 Bedroom for sure, the kitchen is very important to save money on food, buying in our favorite resort would cost us so much money plus the dues. We usually travel in August-September/hopefully January. Thank you for sharing and I subscribed for more informative videos.
Thank you for your compliments. As you know we went the value route with buying points. We switched from Wilderness to Saratoga Springs because SSR is a 50 resort and Wilderness is a 40 year resort and we wanted the extra 10 years. We never have had FOMO because we have only seen the price per point increase over time. We started when the Point cost was only $76. We say the right time to buy is when our budget allows it not when we felt we need more point or just see a good deal. The deal that is on right now is a great deal but it’s not for us right now. Booking at the month window at non home resorts is only difficult during peak times, limited style rooms (Riviera Tower Studios or Grand Villas during spring break or Thanksgiving/Christmas). In order to secure a room we book SSR a 11 months and when the 7 month window opens up we try to move our reservation to the resort we want or at least do a partial stay between the 2 or 3 resorts. You mentioned the your travels would be January, August or September which all 3 are at lower to mid point chart cost. One thing to keep in mind is that Disney has done a great job at finding ways to keep at steady stream of people coming in ( marathons, food and wine and flower and garden festivals, cheer competitions ect) Sorry for the delayed response but I knew this would be a long response and I didn’t want to rush it. I hope this answers your questions. Best of luck in your DVC Journey and for watching. We have never regretted ours and our now on phase 2 with not only our kids but grandkids too. Hope to see you on Our next DVC Journey.
I’m still in the process of purchasing my first contract resale (50 points) at Old Key West but want to add on 50 points direct…maybe next year or the year after so I can book on points at all of the resorts moving forward. I’m married but no kids and my husband isn’t a big Disney fan, so the points are all really just for me to do one or two weekend trips a year, hence why such a small number of points. I’d love to be a blue card member, but right now it doesn’t make sense for me as a solo traveler.
That's an awesome start to your goal. We love OKW. Continue to be patient in your journey with your game plan. It will all come together. WELCOME HOME!!
All DVC resorts expire on January 31st of the years indicated below: Vero Beach, Hilton head, Boardwalk, Bolder Ridge, Beach Club - 2042 Old Key West - 2042 or 2057 if the contract was extended Saratoga Springs - 2054 Animal Kingdom Lodge - 2057 Bay Lake Tower - 2060 Grand Californian - 2060 Aulani - 2062 Grand Floridian - 2064 Polynesian - 2066 Copper Creek - 2068 Riviera - 2070 The Addition to the Polynesian we won't know until DVC announces if it will be part of the existing Polynesian or a separate DVC resort. Thanks for watching.
Great question. You can use direct point at any resort. Resale points depending on when they were purchased can be used at resorts prior to the Riviera opening and Riviera resale points can only be used at the Riviera. With that being said we might have to make a video on “The rules of DVC point usage .” 😂
Impressed with your strategy on how you bought your points and why you did it that way.

We also enjoy talking to DVC Members about how they discovered DVC and which resort is their home resort. What resort is your home resort?

Great strategy! Thanks for sharing. We are new members with 200 pts to VGF direct. We are most likely adding more in the future but we shall see 😂
Congratulations and again Welcome Home. We are sure that you will enjoy your DVC Journey as much as we have enjoyed ours. Thanks for watching.

@@WelcomeHome-1923 definitely. I guess what I meant to say, was due certain resorts only let you use direct sales points.
@@amandaoswalt5426 You can use direct points at any DVC resort. Thanks for watching.
Nice try slipping in that extra 250 points 😂😂
She is too sharp to fall for that. 😊
