Just a note on the bus routes for French Quarter. Only the Disney Springs bus is shared. (with Port Orleans Riverside). All the rest of the bus routes go directly to the park and vice versa. We were very happy with the bus situation at the French Quarter.

Coronado was an amazing hotel to stay at, and the Disney theme was quite low key so you never felt overwhelmingly disney which was nice break after the parks.

Coronado is our favorite. We love staying in the tower and we prefer it over any other Disney resort. It's great for those of us who don't care about the characters and such and want to stay somewhere very nice and more adult like. The "not Disney" vibe is exactly what I am going for.

Stayed at Coronado a few months back and loved it. Large and sprawling? Yes. But it was quiet, had great dining options, and the bussing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We rarely waited more than a few minutes and had no problem getting seats. We were also 3 adults, so Disney type theming wasn't important to us.

Tower studios are great for those of us who travel alone. I love Disney because there's lots of things to do solo. I don't need a lot of space. I generally do split stays and this allows me to have a few nights at a more deluxe resort without paying too much extra.

Frankly, that Polynesian tower going up is the main reason why I agree with your ranking. Instead of incorporating the "needed" DVC rooms into several longhouses, the mad geniuses decide to put yet another tower in an area that was once a lush divider between the tropical paradise and gingerbread elegance. Also, I did not realize the Swan Reserve changed the skyline over at Crescent Lake...another eyesore! Thanks for your informative video!

I think where in the world you are coming from may also influence what type of hotel you are drawn towards. I'm from Canada, and not to be stereotypical but, I personally wouldn't choose any of the lodge/camping themed hotels (wilderness etc.) because those types of experiences are available back home. If I'm going to Florida, I want to feel like I'm in Florida, not at home lol.

For All Star Sports, I would say when you are going truly matters a ton. I've stayed there twice and had two radically different experiences. The 1st was during a cheerleading competition and they would practice all around the place.
It made my stay super enjoyable since my grandfather and I woke up so much earlier than the rest of my family. We would walk around and watch all the teams practice. At least this event, these teams were clearly the top of their sport because my heart went in my mouth so many times watching. Loud, yes, but still super fun to watch with all their pretty outfits.
The second was during a soccer competition and it sucked. Just loud without the free entertainment.

i am a former cm at coronado and i just wanted to put this out there for anyone looking to book. if you’re looking at booking a non-tower room, i recommend requesting the cabanas buildings. there are not very many of them (i think 3), which means their quiet pool is way less busy than casitas. all cabanas buildings are close to the pool. you are right next to the tower on the lobby side (some of the low-numbered casitas buildings are close to the convention side but can end up being a walk as it can take 15 mins to walk from lobby to convention). cabanas also has a stretch of sandy beach with hammocks directly in front and the least busy parking lots. All three of the “casitas” level neighborhoods (casitas, ranchos, cabanas) have their own bus stop so one disadvantage of cabanas is that it is the third stop on the route so the bus may be more full when it gets to you, but i have rarely seen the buses ever get filled from coronado and the same disadvantage can be an advantage as that means you dont have to wait for the buses to pick up at casitas and ranchos before heading to your destination. you do have to wait on the way back. the bus stop is also very close to every cabanas room where in castitas you may have to take a long walk. cabanas are also typically filled last for guest capacity, so if you stay there it will probably be quiet unless the hotel is at >80% capacity. the only other disadvantage i would say is some of those low-numbered casistas buildings can get you into the main area (with restaurants) without having to go through open sky. as florida does its heavy downpours you may have to trudge through the rain from cabanas (or take the bus to tower) lots of good & bad. do not get a room in ranchos if you can help it. it is a 20 min walk away from the lobby, and where all of the sports teams, dancers, and cheerleaders typically end up staying. i am happy to answer any questions but i would request 1) cabanas or 2) casitas 1, 2, or 3

Nice review. Great that you touched on all the resorts. I do wish you showed the pools from each resort. I have also stayed at all the resorts, but my top 3 are a little different. Polynesian was #1. Excellent theming, food, tranquility, fun pool, electric water parade, & monorail access. A very close #2 would be the Riviera. I have never been so relaxed at a Disney resort as just sitting in one of their swings sipping on my cappuccino watching a bocce game while waiting for the rest of my family. On rainy days, it's also one of the few places you can get to transport without getting wet. Just hit a button on the elevator and a short covered walk to either skyline or bus. Also, after extensive use of all three, I've found Skyline transport is much better than boat or even monorail, especially on the afterhours nights to get back and forth quickly. My #3 would be Coronado, as the value cannot be beat for a full family. My kids loved the pool and playground, My wife loves the food and I love a good hammock.

Unfortunately for us, your top 2 choices could never accommodate us in a standard room because Wilderness and Animal only sleep 4. Grand Floridian, Poly, Contemporary, Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk all have a 5 th bed. Riverside has a smaller pull down 5th bed for smaller size folks only.

This is a very good listing and overview of the resorts at Disney World.
Some of the resorts should be split, particularly Coronado Springs / Grand Destino Towers and the cabins/bungalows at the deluxe resorts, and the DVC properties should be considered separately, instead of these being grouped with the main property.

Since it's just my wife and I, I heartily recommend Pop Century. Especially it's newly remodeled and very attractive rooms. Especially for only two people. Art of Animation is very good, but mainly larger family rooms.
Moderates get harder: The Gran Destino at Coronado Springs is spectacular and feels very luxurious for its cost. Also really love the French Quarter; very small and compact, putting everything in easy walking distance.
Deluxe--Poly Ride Or Die. Hands down the best in the park. HOW DARE YOU rate it 4th. Wilderness Lodge is spectacular, but poor transportation options let it down. Monorail loop price, no monorail. Boardwalk is usually pretty well priced, being such an enormous hotel; look at DVC resale sites to save more. David's, as you mentioned, is a very good source.

So happy wilderness got #1. It always gets so close in other rankings but never #1. By far the best lobby and eye popping features. Maybe not the best hotel in terms of transportation or Dining but are still VERY solid and great! Plus like you said a much better price.

I love All Star Movies. I am usually on the go all the time so all I need is a place to put my head down and leave my luggage and souvenirs. The beds are nice and I never needed space or luxury to have a good time.

Do you know if they have some Cabins at Fort Wilderness with ramps to make them wheelchair accessible?? Can't seem to find an answer. I see they have some with accessible showers just can't see pictures of the outside..

Those cabins are like having two vacations in one. You get the amusement park experience and then the camping experience once you're done for the day

I saw the Justin Scarred episode where he rode out a hurricane in Pop Century. Pretty much, he was locked down in his room because of the outdoor hallways, so keep that in mind.

Disney has slowly murdered the Poly Resort - torn of the heart out of the resort by pulling out the garden from the GCH and bulldozing the Luau. Add to this those awful bungalows that ruin the beach and view, Disney took a near perfect resort and destroyed it. Breaks my heart.

My family and I have stayed at most of the deluxe hotels and I 100% agree with Wilderness Lodge at the top. Location, theming and dining are all great. Best part is the fact that it is cheaper than most of the other deluxes. AKL is great as well with even better restaurants and theming but the big downside is how far it is from everything other than Animal Kingdom but still fantastic and always in my families top three choices when we are deciding where to stay for a trip. Didn't agree with Boardwalk Inn being higher than Beach Club. Beach Club location and pool are just too good.

AKL isn’t so bad if you have your own car it’s a 12 min drive to the other parks

I'm not sure if you should call the art of animation suites value- they're sometimes more than 2 rooms at pop and more than moderate resort rooms. Yes it's technically more room than a standard room but even when I went with family- we didn't have 6 ppl staying together. Usually was just 3 of us. I've also heard that the Murphy bed and sofa beds are uncomfortable whereas the Murphy bed at pop was just as comfy as the regular bed.
