The first era of Nigthwish was pure magic. They still have great music and Floor is amazing. But as you said, Tarja has a mysterious aura around her. And that is still true today. She is very expressive on stage. I saw her live at the festival last week, she is a stunning performer. She is also much more energetic in his solo career.
The Siren is from the album Once. It is the first NW album to use a symphony orchestra. This is the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which also made music for The Lord of the Rings. They also included Tarja's voice in the chorus, which they removed in the versions of the songs with Floor. Be sure to listen to the Ghost Love Score with Tarja, from the End of an Era concert.

@@L33Reacts Many fans believe that Ghost Love Score is a song written by Tuomas (sole composer and keyboardist) about Tarja at the end of it all. Immediately after this concert, he fired her through an open letter that he posted on their website. She was the only one in the band who didn't know it was going to happen after the concert.
The two have known each other since they were thirteen years old, and in their twenties together with Emppu (guitarist) founded NW.
If you are going to react from the official Nightwish channel and want to pay attention to the lyrics, turn on the subtitles. The chorus sings some extra verses that are hard to catch without the subtitles, and this chorus is suppressed in the Floor version.
But it is not necessary. You can only enjoy beautiful performances and music. I loved this song long before I knew its meaning and their faces.
This whole concert is absolutely amazing.

Please react to Slaying the dreamer, Ghost Love Score and I wish I had an angel from the same end of an era concert. Such a fantastic concert. Later Tarja said in an interview that in this very concert she felt everything worked, like she thought she had finally learned how to make her classical singing work with the symphonic metal band. As sad as it all was, she now has an amazing solo career in both metal and classical music, and the band seems happy with Floor, so it all turned out good.

This was awesome, mate!! I just came across your channel and I'm very much enjoying your reactions to NW, you've got a new subscriber right here!I'm a huge Nightwish and Tarja long-time fan/addict! lol haha.😊NW is such an epic, extraordinary, legendary band, as you surely know by now! I'm so glad to see so many people on YT reacting to Nightwish and thus coming to know their music this way! Nightwish lore spreading all around!!!🤘🖤 Yeah! haha. I mean, you witnessed it, their music is so... God, no mundane word is enough to describe such magnificent otherworldly realm that they've created through their Music!!! Pure magic, regardless of who's the singer they're working with! Although I do have a reeaally soft spot for my powerful sorceress metal goddess Tarja 😍😆 ahaha
Well, I think Tarja is so unique and brought NW to a whole new level combining her stunning dark, absolutely beautiful and powerful operatic vocals (which timbre I must say is rare and uncommon even into the classical music universe) with Tuomas' genius! Personally I enjoy their music from all eras with all lead singers because they're an incredible band, and although I'm a huge Tarja fan (or Tarjaholic, as some would call us ahaha), I respect, support and appreciate all singers who sang with them as the equally great, amazingly talented artists they are in their own different ways and rights (and that's a fact only the blind don't see, all else is just a matter of personal taste and preference imo, and that's perfectly fine), for each of them brought special, individual and unique elements to the band that helped them grow, mature and develop their artistic identity.
That being said, don't know if you're taking suggestions from your comment sections but, if that's alright I'd like to drop down here a list with my songs suggestions by them in Tarja's era, since from what I've seen (I'm new around here though lol) you reacted more often to NW with Floor (with songs that I generally recommend from her era) and I'm more of an "old school Nightwisher" (although I absolutely LOVE them in all eras!🤘💘). Afterwards I'll be also suggesting songs from Tarja's stunning solo career, her work is different from anything you've seen and I love it, creative and overall mindblowing, plus she's constantly growing as an artist, it's inspiring, and only in her solo career she could become complete free to fully be herself! Anyway, without further ado, back to NW in Tarja's era (I tried to make a selection as short as I could, really difficult to choose from their vast, outstanding repertoire ahaha, but there's so much more to explore as you go):
    1. ruclips.net/video/YODCM26JXOY/видео.html . "Ghost Love Score", performed in the "End of an Era" show in 2005 (the last time ever the band and Tarja performed together, plus a curious fact: Tarja was very sick with severe throat infection during this concert. She didn't even know if she'd be able to sing that night, yet she did it marvellously! So if this is not the best she can do, just you imagine how damn incredible she is at her best!😍Remenber this everytime you do a reaction to this concert ahaha). The song is from their album "Once". One of their greatest masterpieces of all times! Floor also sings this one differently but beautifully🖤 (I think you already reacted to her version) and I love both, but I personally love the way Tarja sings it, I feel like she deeply understands the crucial importance of the instrumentals (especially the epic orchestral arrangement and choir), and the unspoken soul of the song, so she doesn't sing it like it was all about her voice and it's clearly intentional; if you listen closely sometimes she even seems to use her voice like an instrument, often blending her sound at the end of some phrases with the orchestra's (which in Floor's version was made lower probably to match her style better), becoming one living soul with the music. It's just so perfect imo!
    2. ruclips.net/video/lZgkxgkH6I8/видео.html . "Planet Hell", also from "End of an Era" dvd (song originally from "Once" as well). Tarja & Marko!😍 They rock so freaking amazing together!🤘
    3. ruclips.net/video/VSMCD39EIMc/видео.html . "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan", also from "End of an Era" dvd (and originally from "Once" as well). I put this ballad song because it's simply beautiful and so very touching (plus, it's in finnish, their native language, and I love it! haha).
    4. ruclips.net/video/J7N8MekeH20/видео.html . "Wishmaster", also live version from "End of an Era". Great performance of another iconic song!
    5. ruclips.net/video/ROdKrGVVuI8/видео.html . "Dark Chest of Wonders", also live from "End of an Era", the openning track of the concert. Brillant, heavy yet flowing like a river!
    6. ruclips.net/video/E_RRMRXJWxI/видео.html . "Sleeping Sun", live from End of an Era. such an Iconic ballad, truly beautiful, astounding, brillant!
    7. ruclips.net/video/GG8UNbI2KM4/видео.html . "10th Man Down", from EP "Over the Hills and Far Away", and performance is live at the Summer Breeze Fest in 2002. Grand!
    8. ruclips.net/video/0QtdQQne2Ts/видео.html . "Passion and the Opera", this one she actually performed in her solo career, 'twas in 2007 (therefore after the breakup). I don't think they ever performed this together, I'm not sure though, need to check this out. Anyway it's sooo amazing!!! In this song Tuomas makes "subtle" musical mentions of Mozart's "Queen of the Night" aria, from his opera "The Magic Flute". Love this and Tarja is gorgeous, showcases much of her vocal skills and powerful energy on stage!
    9. ruclips.net/video/JYVl6MOZXIs/видео.html . This is "Swanheart", live performance from 2001 dvd "From wishes to Eternity". The song is originally from their album "Oceanborn". Beautiful, stunning ballad song!
    10. ruclips.net/video/lI2WRR8lXgE/видео.html . "Ever Dream", another iconic and great song, also live from End of an Era. Floor also sings this one just as beautifully.
    11. ruclips.net/video/k2g-I-uNR1s/видео.html . "Wanderlust", from their "Wishmaster". Simply amazing, some power melodic metal vibes!
Now to Tarja's solo career, in the next comment... 😆

      @juliavilarsoprano Год назад +2

I'd love to see you reacting to her solo stuff too (she's been doing a beautiful work and is on the road for a long time now), because since she started her solo career she's finally free to be fully herself, you know, without the "shackles"... and definitely ever growing and maturing vocally and artistically through the years; she is simply a fantastic, hard working, super talented and outstanding artist (who's sometimes even a bit underrated by some unfortunately), a remarkably beautiful soul too! She's such an amazing artist, so creative and expressive, she became a noteworthy songwriter/composer as well, and I love her stage presence and energy too (she owns the stage and is so much more energetic now). Therefore imo, one cannot hope to truly know Tarja as an artist without diving into her stunning solo work. I love her, she's such an inspiration to me, her voice and renditions give me deep, spiritually magical Eargasms💘A-hem... Sorry about that😜. Anyway, her solo musical rock/metal style (apart from her classical music and xtmas concerts, and other "out of the box" side projects of hers) is very unique and not easily defined, though it still has plenty of the symphonic metal elements as guidelines such as some kinds of guitar riffs, epic orchestral arrangements and her remarkably dark, powerful operatic vocals (though now she mixes a bit her classical singing tecnique with a few more "contemporary" sounds and her chest voice in a very singular way). Her solo work is much more versatile imo, she incorporates aspects of different stilistic elements (including some prog at times, I think you'll love it), and is always experimenting new things in her music without any fear of exploring the unusual, so you never really know what to expect or what she'll do next, AND I find it magnificent!!! Plus I love the fact that she just walked her own path and found her "artist self", never trying to recreate her old days with NW, and I absolutely LOVE the results of her choices, I hope you like it too. So, back to the list (also only a small selction):
      1. ruclips.net/video/6T-Wyw9lYyM/видео.html . Song "In for a kill". Album "What lies Beneath" (2010). Performance from her 2012 first live-album "Act I". Bombastic! Hear the lion within her roar!🤘
      2. ruclips.net/video/K3QmQN7VSNI/видео.html . This is also from Act I, a kind of mixed version of two of her ballad songs ("Oasis" and "The archive of lost dreams"). Here she sings while playing a grand piano, showing some dramatic nuances of her expression and voice, kind of "gothic vibes". She delivers such a touching, emotional performance! It brings tears to my eyes! It's sort of a "forgotten" treasure!😍
      3. ruclips.net/video/jxqodwLVdcU/видео.html . "Love to Hate", this song is part of her 2016 album "The Shadow Self" and the performance recorded in 2018 for her live-album Act II, in a more intimate set, which makes it even more special. Outstanding, breathtaking performance, one of my favorites!
      4. ruclips.net/video/tv4XWkTWQ0M/видео.html . "Undertaker", also live for Act II, and another track from "The Shadow Self". So epic and Incredible! You'll love this one, her energy is amazing and the song is epic!
      5. ruclips.net/video/UGkbQj8e6JI/видео.html . "Crimson Deep", also from "What lies Beneath" and performance, from Act I too. It gives me chills, I just love it!
      6. ruclips.net/video/TGjkjNXYBWI/видео.html . "Dead Promises", live at Masters of Rock 2019, and the song is from her 2019 album "In the Raw". Freaking awesome! 🤘
      7. ruclips.net/video/CpxA5JTT5Ec/видео.html . "Shadow Play", also from her "In the Raw". Link to the studio version for the epic choir and orchestra, but there is an outstanding live performance at Circus Life where she plays piano too, worth checking out as well.💘🤘
      8. ruclips.net/video/0QtdQQne2Ts/видео.html . "Passion and the Opera", this one is actually by NW but performed in her solo career, 'twas in 2007. I don't think they ever performed this together, I'm not sure though, need to check this out. Anyway it's sooo amazing!!! The song makes "subtle" musical mentions to Mozart's "Queen of the Night" aria, from his opera "The Magic Flute". Love this and Tarja is gorgeous, showcases much of her vocal skills and powerful energy on stage!
      9. ruclips.net/video/R_CQNdPbkzM/видео.html . That's a double >.

About Tarja, YES! Absolutely yes, I think you described her and her presence so well, I feel that mesmerizing, sort of mystic and magical energy coming from her too, like a gothic high fantasy sorceress or something, I don't know!! ahaha. I got to see her live in one of her solo concerts a few years ago and man!, what a voice, what a presence, what an inspiring artist! She really draws in every person in the audience, always, and controls the crowd without having to say a word, almost like a spell ahaha, like she's always connected in an almost spiritual level, we feel that and she does too, and knows how to use it! The videos can capture a glimpse of that power, but seeing her live... Wow, it's an entirely different experience! I think she's much more energetic on stage now in her solo career than when was with NW, yet she managed to keep that same majestic aura and otherworldly presence! And at the same time with deeply emotional, human renditions!

Yes, their music is different with each singer. Tuomas writes songs considering the people who will be playing and singing them. End of an Era DVD is 2005 in Helsinki's Hartwall Arena. Same show as the Phantom of the Opera and Nemo vids you watched. The Siren was the song that followed Phantom in the setlist. It's from the 2004 5th album ,Once.
Love this song, one of my favorite Tarja songs. 🤘🤘Really like Tuomas' keyboard solo, and Marko killing it with Tarja again.
Absolutely do more from this concert. The 2 songs right after The Siren were Sleeping Sun, and their cover/tribute of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (Marko lead vocal).

Victim of Ritual performance from Woodstock or cover Supremacy from the same festival is great choise from her rock solo stuff. I've gone through most of her discography and love her more than when she was in NW. And if you want to see the really gothic Tarja, watch her official music video O Tannenbaum. It's not rock or metal, but it has a Tim Burton vibe. Among her classics is an excellent performance of Pie Jesu. It's a few years old performance and her voice there is absolutely stunning and again she has that dark gothic aura about her. Fan recording but great sound ruclips.net/video/-b96CGtkgFQ/видео.html

I have 3 recommendations, "Mystique Viyage" live from Bucharest 2020, title fits perfectly to this song, and she singing there in 3 languages, english, spanish and finnish, "Victim of Ritual" live from Woodstock 2016, one of her heavier songs, amazing performance, "Too Many" live from Act II London Metropolis Studio, not heavy but it's very deep song, and this performance is very intime just few people in audience. I hope you will react to Tarja's solo stuff, rhere you can really hear what she can, not only as singer, but also songwriter and composer. ;)
