I have been successfully doing that with both with sinking tip and a sinking line and it works very well. Thx Pete. Now to get those tailing loops under control.

Great information to know. I just put sinking line on my 6wt..it’s a new ballgame. This will definitely help. Thanks!

All those nice casts and that target fish just wouldn't move at all 😅. This is an awesome tip, definitely a good addition to our arsenal of casts.

I love all of these tip you give out.. in my 20's (which seems like a few centuries ago) I taught myself how to fly fish.. I loved it.. But I have not fly fished now for at least 30 years (except for one time).. My question is do you put these tips out on DVD or some other media that I can take with me to the river to practice while I fish this spring and summer... (I have gotten to the age where I have become a fair weather fisherman).. It would be a grand help for me to improve my ability since I was never taught the correct way to fish..

Glad to hear you're getting back into fly fishing. Sorry we do not produce DVDs but you can download these videos to your phone and watch them stream side. Sure someone can help you do this if you have issues with download. Good luck learning and enjoying fly fishing!

My son should know all about doing this though.. he works for space x and knows all this computer stuff.. Thanks.. carry on.. I truly love to watch the tips you all put out.. and the fishing is grand to.. Here's to a great summer of love! again.. only just a bit different this time eh?

I’m confuse why would you use sinking line in 1 foot or 2 foot of water

Justin, unfortunately there was a drought happening when we arrived to video this casting sequence. though pete is casting in shallow water, you normally would use sinking lines in deeper water. however, the techniques and recommendations pete is providing are excellent

You're not giving the line time to sink! Isn't that the point of a sinking line, or am I missing something? I've fished sinking lines with streamers (why else use a sinking line?) for over 20 years, varying the retrieve to keep the fly at the desired depth.
