I call that a pre-load 🤣🤣🤣 Been doing it for a while. Never had any formal instruction. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE LOAD ✔️ LOVE YOU ALL AT MAD RIVER ! Stay Motivated ! Keep It Tight ! Cpl. Hood 🦈🦈🦈
Another technique I learned long ago is to open up the casting loop a bit with sinking lines and heavy flies. The change of direction is smoother/more fluid when the loop is not too tight. Thanks for all the great videos.
Watching you and Blaine casting, it looked like after the roll pickup; the cast wasike a Belgian of constant tension cast. Is that whatit is or more of a sidearm cast?
Thanks for watching. Please send your questions directly over to Brian at the shop via e-mail or give him a call. He'll be happy to help but doesn't come around here often.
Hey MRO - what do you have to say about tungsten impregnated lines cutting into and damaging the guides of your fly rod? Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks!

"Roll Pick-Up" Noted 🤣🤙
Thanks for being here.
Thanks again for the video, certainly beats the 'chuck & duck' method I used when I first started with sink tips
Thanks for being here.

Great job. And great teaching, making a mistake and adapting and using it as a teaching moment.
Thanks for watching.
Pssst guys, there were no links in the video where I think they were supposed to be. Just letting you know. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Some browsers and such can see them, some can't. They are always in the video description as well because of that. Thanks
I learned on my own that side arm pickup not to get the line closer to the surface but to not smack the line in my face on the back stroke
An added benefit. Thanks for watching.
So easy - they cut through wind like hot knives in soft butter. Correct leader + tippet resistance is key.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks. Are you touching down on the roll pickup?
Thanks for watching. Sorry but we don't have that intel here. Send Brian an e-mail at the shop or give him a call. He'll be happy to help/answer.

So in my kayak I can’t stand up. How would I do this, especially the first part, sitting down?
