How much fun is he having. Enjoyed the hanging the ass end out on purpose through most corners!!!! Good driver, nice heal and toe and looking after the over steer.
Me and my brother heading to Pukapunyal from Rockbank, November 1993, to be at the 1st Armoured Regiments Cambrai Parade, in my XA GT Hardtop, full noise all the way.
The Cleveland on the other hand was released nearly a decade after the "Windsor" and had the benefit of intense development in that time. The Clevo had infinitely better heads than any Windsor even in 2V form. in their day, Clevo 4V's were the best smallblock heads around. When fitted to the 302W to make the Boss 302, it always had a horsepower advantage over the Chevs & Mopars in the same class. The only thing that killed the big Clevo in the US was the oil crisis. Then AUS got the tooling :)
Todays Young Generation of Driver could not handle one of these. Very Heavy one the Ass End when the tank is full. Very Heavy on the cluth and steering. Todays Youngster would wrap A Beast like this around a power pole.
OK I'm officaly jealous we here in the state's don't have targa's here like you all do been a fan of the Falcon's since I was a little tike my dad had a 65 falcon he bought in melbourn in 1966 and had it shipped here to Lorain,Ohio. and I've been hooked on the aussie styled falcon since then they look better and handle better then their American counter part. Just my opinion good driving, where did they place in the classic devision?
Sweet driving, looks like he's running a spool diff, hence the jerky & understeery corners. Engine sounds very healthy... plenty of vitamins there! anyone know if it's a Clevo? (Eric Bana's XB runs a 351W) If you're out there dude, keep it up... just ignore the wankers who talk lots but know nothing.
nah mate, you're exactly incorrect. The "Windsor" 351 was an extended version of the 302. It is quite a heavy block, has small ports and valves. It was good for torque but never a race engine. It was probably best as a truck engine.
okay dude, now your just embarrasing yourself, its a simple maths conversion, 351 cubic inches equates to 5751.85 CC or 5.8litres when rounded off. Therefore if your Dad has a seven litre, he has a 427 engine, not a 351. I am also pretty sure that there was an XA GT Coupe (In fact they won Bathurst in 73 and 74....)
BOTH, haha> Rally cars are fucking hard to drive :P - My dad works for a car carrier company and had a hq monaro and i had to take it off the truck and I recon i shat my self..it was scary......Alot of horses lol.
Set this to the mad max 2 music here watch?v=RW5IStXTXwE started about 30 seconds in and enjoy, and god damn what a monster! if only they made cars like these nowadays.
