Kendrick Lamar is a great example of what a good lyricist and technical rapper means. It's not about writing a 1000 rhymes in a row or rapping too damn fast to be understood. It's about writing ryhmes that are technically superior but still convey meaning, emotion, story and lessons. FEAR is the best song in this album in my opinion.
Adopting and adapting ideas and practices from different mediums and different forms to elevate your work in your specific area. That's smart and applicable to anyone's work
