I don't know what it says about a transport when I can look at this level of overgrease and call it restrained compared to what I dealt with over the weekend, but it definitely says something. Nice work as always! Seems like I learn new stuff every time.

It's a few weeks out yet but you'll know it when you see it. I've never seen worse grease in a tape deck. Strongly considering buying an ultrasonic now, it was that bad.

Hello Peter! As always, the work was carried out at the highest level!👍🔥I have a small question regarding the head offset marks on the template! If you don't mind, I'll write you an email? I wish you health, longevity and success in everything!!!

I'm currently repairing some 122 MK3's but one issue I've come across on one is the end-of-tape is not correct. Whenever a tape reaches the end, in either FF or RW, the gears and spool click rapidly for a couple of seconds and then stop. I'm trying to locate the sensors for the EOT which I believe are on the back near the motor (the PCB with an arch on it). Have you come across it or found a way to adjust the EOT? Can't find much online. Thanks if you manage to answer, really appreciate it. - EJ

Thank you for watching Elliot. Have you determined that there are no broken, or damaged gears, in the gear train? Additionally, look closely at the idler because stopping for a second or two, then shutting off, is correct, the problem is likely in the clicking you mentioned.

@@asbcustom I've replaced gear-C which is a common one to break. Despite this one still not broken, I replaced it anyway and lubed up the gears with new grease. I reckon the idler tier is probably the issue since I haven't replaced it with a brand new one. I cleaned the old one and its still in decent condition but obviously not 100%. These Idlers are quite difficult to get over here in the UK, do you have any advice or notes on this idler? I'd appreciate that.

Would you be willing to service my 122mk11? I got it from goodwill a year ago and I’m pretty sure it needs to be recapped
