Very nice video and presentation. Good seeing more lenses with weather sealing like this. Very good value for money lens-and as you say if just a hobbyist there is no point in spending thousands of pounds on equipment/lenses. But even the cheaper lenses like this can give pleasing results, as you have shown. Thanks.
thank you very much =)
Use this with em5ii has OIs or just in pana body ?
Sory i'm not good in E? Hope you understand
@@hautran8486 it will still have OIS with an Olympus Body but no Dual IS like with a Panasonic camera. I think the camera will then decide wether to use the lenses stabilisier or in Body one. Generally with telephoto lenses the lens stabilisation tends to work better than IBIS.
Iam thinking of this lense I have a 12to60 and a 25 f1.7 for sky shots at night on my g8 and there is no need to spend 1000nds on lenses unless being a professional with a 50 grand camera these dual ios lenses are perfect mirrorless cameras rule 😂
Thank you for such a detailed review. I am VERY new to photography and will be purchasing the lumix G9 Very soon and need some lenses. People like me dont need graphs, charts and all that technical rubbish. We need people like you to go out in the real world and take photos and videos on the hardware we have our eyes on. You showed that this lens ona camera not as sharp as the G9, produces beautifully sharp images and video in quite moody conditions where its cloudy and rainy. Most reviews are on sunny days which maximises the abilities of the camera/lens combo. Thanks to this review, i will be purchasing this lens along with the G9 for my wildlife photography. Keep up the great work :)
Good job with the Livestream. I share your work because I want people to turn away from the shit-show and focus on what's important.
Hi. Is Lumix g vario 45-200 Lens with power ois compatibile for any teeconverter ? I want to extend my lens as cheap as possibile. Unfortunatelly i am poor but i love bird photography
I have absolutely no idea sadly...
With the 4x teleconverter is turned on g9 i get some focus jumping
Tolles Video.
This lens is on sale at a local video place, was looking to use it for filmmaking. Would it be okay for that kind of thing? Would you know? Thank you!
Are you able to reverse mount the lens hood on the lens for travel? Or do you have to have the hood stored separate off the body?
@@RogueSplice you can reserve mount it without a problem 🙂
@@trembichmovingmoments8778 Oh awesome thank you!
nice review, is it sharp for stills at the 200mm???
Yes I think it is. But you have to fill the frame if you can.
Have you shot any video with this lens?
Yeah the wildlife video footage in this video as well as my "wild animals of NRW" part 2 and 3 videos. In terms of autofocus and dual is 2 I think it does a decent job but you should probably use it with a monopod when you want to shoot at 200mm since you can see every tiny hand movement because of the focal length. The stabilisation will keep jitter away but can't help you hold the field of view constant.
A great real life review of this lens. Are you still happy with the lens and is it sharp enough? Thanks
I had very decent results with it but I got the 100-300mk2 for its longer reach and subsequently sold the 45-200 as I did not use it anymore. It's the better multi purpose lens of the two but the 100-300 is the better dedicated wildlife lens. I made a comparison video of the two as well.
@@trembichmovingmoments8778 ok thanks for the reply. I think ultimately I will probably get the 100-300mm. Are you happy with that?
@@AlexMcDougallPhotography it's a fantastic lens if you are serious about wildlife photography. It's to expensive (and bit as flexible) to be your "I need to have a Tele lens sometines"
@@trembichmovingmoments8778 Planning to use it for landscape and fast jet photography.
I'm thinking to buy this lens for motorsport photography on the budget... how is the focusing on moving subjects? I've tested the 35-100mm f2.8 Panasonic, and it amazed me how sharp that lens is and how fast is focusing on moving subjects. Thank you for the video, keep up the good work!
Thank you 🙂
Well the tracking focus for small birds is not all that good but I think for motorsports it should be OK as the subject is likely to be much bigger in the frame. I sadly never had the chance to test the 35-100mm f2.8 but I'm guessing the focusing of the budget friendly 45-200mm mk2 will not be comparable. One shot focus is instant but tracking is not so good.
thank you
Great review. New subscriber here.
Is this lens compatible with lumix g7?
Yes! It's a micro four thirds lens.
01:55 24 to 400 mm ? You mean 90 to 400 mm equiv.
No, he doesn't. He's talking about having the 12-60 lens and the 45 to 200. Or the equivalent of 24 to 400, just as he said. Listen, before presuming.
@@JamesAnderson-wft Thx, I'm gonna replay and listen again.
@@northof-62 I think I was a bit abrupt. I apologise.
@@JamesAnderson-wft at 1:30 he says 90-400. And you were correct - he did say "with the 12-60" at 1:50. I missed that. Thx
The mk1 version is compatible with the G85?
Yeah usually all MFT lenses are compatible with all MFT cameras.
